Situated in Maidstone in Kent, Ashley Gardens is a home full of laughter and smiling faces that provides nursing and respite care to those living with dementia. The welcoming staff are the heart of the home and the home is well-regarded in the local community for its outstanding care provided.

Ashley Gardens provides specialist care for people living with dementia and has excellent facilities to accommodate those specialist needs. Ashley Gardens offers a full sensory room, tailored reminiscence activities and specialist dietary needs catered for.

Located just a short bus ride away from the bustling town centre, Ashley Gardens is close to local amenities and attractions such as Leeds Castle and Mote Park. The home is within easy reach of local shops and major routes such as the M2, M20 and A229, allowing accessible visits from family members and friends.

With activities varying from Live tours of landmarks, Café/pub (real life setups), ice cream van visits or Bingo, Ashley Garden always has lots for residents to engage with. Equally, activities are also tailored towards individual needs and wishes for those that enjoy activities on a more one-to-one basis.

Accommodation is arranged over three floors offering 89 bedrooms that are able to be personalised to each resident’s wishes. Rooms come fully furnished, ready for residents to personalise and make them their own. Equally, the home encourages residents to bring their own furniture to make their room feel like a home-from home, should they wish to.

Ashley Court has a passionate and long-standing team (many of whom have been at the home for 5-10 years) and has a reputable long-standing relationship with the wider community.

Somehow, the staff enabled my mother to get back onto her feet and got her eating and drinking again. She returned, with their help, to more like her old self and by putting a bookcase in her room, encouraged her to read again. She was looked after with great care and compassion for her end of life
care. They were brilliant, doing all they could to keep her comfortable and supported me through it. Thank you.

My mum, has been a resident at Ashley Gardens Care Home for a year now, the staff are lovely and always asking if my mum needs anything. The ladies that arrange the entertainment for the residents are amazing. They have singers which my mum loves to sing a long and dance too. They have animals come
in so they can hold or stroke them. They have cupcake making and Bingo and painting and flower arranging. My mum likes this especially, as she has always enjoyed being amongst friends and going and doing things. So they'res a massive thank you to them for everything that they do. My mum's room is always clean and tidy. And her clothes washed and back in her wardrobe. At one time my dad was at Ashley Gardens Care Home with my mum as a resident. My sister and I looked at different care homes, but Ashley Gardens Care Home came 1st all of the time. I hope that this review might help a family who's family member is coming to a residential care home and would like to hear about it.

My mother has advanced Alzheimer's and was in need of a safe and welcoming place to call home. I feel we have been blessed. Mum moved in mid June, 2025 to a warm reception. The staff knew her name on arrival and were full of enthusiasm and encouragement. It was a difficult decision but the best decision
for mum. During the week there are activities and events, food looks delicious, with lots of treats and snacks. Mum is gaining back some much needed weight. The staff are reassuring with all of us as mum is adjusting to her new home. I feel confident it's been the best decision for mum, she's safe, clean, cared for, experiencing new things which brighten her days. I live overseas so enjoy the social media posts and the daily updates.

A warm, friendly home- Mum is much more calm and looks so much better since moving in.
Being Italian food has been a passion-we were able to bring some home cooked pasta which was great.

Lovely home staff treat residents very well couldn't ask for any better enjoy visiting as feel very welcome there.
Mum settled in very well been there nearly a year now and we as a family are happy that she is happy and every need is cared for.
She is always clean and well dressed and breakfast
dinner and tea are regular times and food is good.
I would like to thank all the staff who look after her they work very hard to keep everyday happy for her the entertainment is first class something going on most days and enjoy seeing her on social media pages, would definitely recommend.

Mum arrived at Ashley Gardens Nov 24.
The staff immediately made her feel welcome, safe & gave her a sense of belonging.
Her care plan was formulated & immediately put into action. Any adaptations are quickly acted upon.
The staff are respectful, caring & very approachable.
The menu is varied,
well prepared & presented in an appetising manner.
The residents are stimulated by the varied range of activities provided if they choose to participate.
The staff work closely with relatives informing them immediately of any concerns or change in circumstances.
They invite relatives to participate in the relatives quarterly meetings which we have found to be informative.
Ashley Gardens has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

When we visited my wife the staff were very friendly with us and she looked very happy. She eats all of her food which is very good because in the other home she would not eat so I know she is happy. I live in London so I can not go and see her as much as I would like but I know she is being looked

My sister who is end-of-life is very well looked after. Bathed every day and has cream put all over her body. She is moved in the bed regularly so as to avoid bed sores. Communication between staff is excellent. Cleaning in the room is of a high standard.

I visit my auntie once a week and have found the staff very caring. The rooms are very clean and the dining area is lovely. I go to her room to get her a drink and find it is very clean. I cannot find any faults in the areas that I have seen.

The current manager has achieved good results relating to staffing levels, better practices of staff and recognising weak areas. Thus CQC result of Good overall. Responsibility and hard-working team hopefully will continue with the new manager. Aesthetic improvements have resulted in a far more pleasant
environment. Progressive plans for 2025 are welcome. The job is always changing and all areas will need monitoring. Catering is very good. Activities, cleanliness and laundry are very good. The reception is welcoming.

There has been significant improvement in all areas of the home. Going forward this standard and ethos should be encouraged and maintained both for the benefit of the residents and moral of staff who now have the guidance and benchmark from which they can continue to move forward. Once we managed to get a meeting with management actions were taken and they were quick. Every care home will have their issues which I understand, I've worked in a care home and in a management position myself and apparently our concerns and requests were not getting passed on. However once I spoke
with the Deputy manager and Nurse myself and my father were impressed with how quick the actions occurred. They were both nice to keep us updated on his progress and his care.

My mum has been in this home since May 24. She was previously in a different home in Maidstone which was terrible care. We cannot fault Ashley Gardens Care Centre. The care she receives is amazing, carers and nurses make sure my mum is looked after and nothing is too much trouble for them. So pleased
with this home, would recommend this home. Well done for giving my mum the care she needs and mum is happy.

We moved in in January 2014.
It was cold and we came by ambulance from hospital. They took us to a lovely room warm clean and with a big window.
The staff made a big fuss of us and I was happy to go home knowing my lovely wife was in good hands, we're still here so it must be good.

My mum is a resident at Ashley Gardens Maidstone and as a family we wanted to feed back how happy we are at the care Mum gets from the carers on her level who look after her on a daily basis. Following a recent resident's family general meeting which was positive to hear of future plans, we were all
asked for feedback and my dad raised a point to improve Mum's feeding procedure, this has been filtered through to the staff on Mum's level straight away. As a family, staff on Mum's level are very good and we want to pass on our thanks mainly to two members of staff in particular who always go a little further and we can't thank them enough.

My mum was cared for with the utmost care and respect as were her immediate family. On our visits, she always looked clean tidy and very comfortable. Great knowledgeable team. At the end of my mum's life, the palliative end-of-life care was very calming and loving.

I am a passionate nurse and a leader dedicated to delivering excellent care to our residents through a well-supported and skilled team. My role as Deputy Manager is to support the team in providing person-centred care and to ensure that our residents feel safe and comfortable in their homes.


I have been a Registered Nurse since 2008 and have over 9 years experience of working in the care home environment, including more than 5 years as Deputy Manager.

The favourite part of his working day is when at the end of the day you can be proud of what you have achieved as a team. To recognise individual performances and give praise.


His biggest professional challenge in his career to date was taking over a restaurant which was poorly performing. Customer satisfaction was low and sales decreased along with targets and budgets not being met. Within 12 months sales increased with customer returns continuing to grow. Budgets and targets were being hit and audits were above 95%. Wesley's biggest career highlight to date was being promoted to a flagship restaurant which had yearly sales of £400,000


What qualities do you think make a good home manager?


Wesley enjoys spending a lot of time with his children who always brighten up his day; time at the park and doing activities with them. He also enjoys watching most sports.


His ambition is to become more senior within the Healthcare Homes Group. To oversee the kitchens within and to have an active part in achieving great standards and quality presented food for all our resident's needs.
