My Mother had a fall at home and as a result of her injuries got delirium and couldn't manage to look after herself and went to Ashley Gardens in December 2021. She settled in well and the staff were great and welcomed her but needed full-on care and was basically bedbound but was happy and content. Recently there seems to be more and more improvements to the home and the staff are really switched on and motivated, from the reception to the carers themselves they are all fantastic, even the food has improved recently. To top it all my mum has improved massively through the love and care she receives and can feed herself and even use a walker with the assistance of the great team of carers! I would say the care my mum receives from the home is fantastic and it's as though the staff treat her like she was their mother which is as much as anyone can hope for! Well done Ashley Gardens team, please keep up the good work.
My wife was in Ashley Gardens for 2 years. All the staff were brilliant. They showed care and respect and kept her dignity. Their actions were genuine and from the heart. They guided me and comforted me overwhelmingly. My wife was constantly watched over 24/7. The management are true compassionate professionals. This home has got to be one of the best.
Thank you so much David for taking the time to leave such a lovely review for Ashley Gardens. It means the world to us all to hear such positive comments and I will share them with the team. It was our pleasure to take care of your wife and she will be missed greatly.
Although my uncle was only a resident for approx 6 weeks before he passed away, he seemed very happy and well cared for. When moving my uncle from another home to Ashley Gardens the admin staff were amazing - all very helpful and patient. The manager is also lovely and seems to genuinely care. Seems a very well-run home. The maintenance man was also very helpful and quick at doing jobs.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review Ashley Gardens. It was an absolute pleasure for us to take care of your Uncle even for this short period and we are so glad as a team that he was happy here. I will of course pass your lovely feedback onto the team.
Mum lived at Ashley Gardens for 3 years. We were delighted with her care. Mum had dementia and mobility issues and initially was confused/upset. The staff worked hard to resolve problems, moving her closer to the nurses’ office to help her settle. Once Mum got to know the staff and became familiar with her surroundings, she often seemed happy and content. Mum was unable to walk but mobilised using her feet to push a wheelchair, enabling her to talk to the staff and other residents. Mum really liked the affection the staff showed her and particularly enjoyed being outside. Ashley Gardens has pleasant outdoor spaces that the residents are supported to use. Walking around the home, we noticed how the staff would make Mum welcome and chat with her like an old friend. The home is professionally managed. The manager is welcoming, easy to talk to and responsive. Unsurprisingly, there have been some issues but she always responded quickly. She clarified things, reassured us when needed and promptly effected change if warranted.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, Julie. It has been an absolute pleasure to care for Mum and we all miss her greatly. I will of course share this lovely feedback with the team. Best Wishes, Jo.
As I do not reside in England, local visits by me are not possible but I have been kept fully informed by newsletter of all the activities at the care home together with phone calls keeping me up to date with my father's wellbeing, this is very much appreciated.
I was sad to learn that Covid had affected this care home despite every effort being made by staff to avoid this happening but despite this tragedy, the staff have remained resilient and continue to provide a high level of care and I must place on record my thanks for this dedication and commitment especially during these difficult times.
Thank you once again and I wish all the staff and residents all the best for 2021.
Thank you so much, Craig, for taking the time to leave such a lovely review of Ashley Gardens. It was an absolute pleasure to look after your Dad. I will of course pass on your positive feedback to the team as they do love to hear when they have been recognised in such a positive way.
The staff were always welcoming and helpful and in this difficult time, we were happy that they would look after her.
Thank you so much, Robin, for taking the time to leave such a lovely review of Ashley Gardens. I will pass on your feedback to the team. Jo
Always well organised and we remain very well informed throughout lockdown. Visiting since lockdown has still seen the home take precautions.
Thank you, Tammy, for taking the time to leave such a positive review of Ashley Gardens. I will of course share this lovely feedback with the team. Best Wishes Jo
My Dad has been in the care of the wonderful staff at Ashley Gardens for 15 months, the staff got to know him and his ways very quickly. During this very difficult time of lockdown they have become one big family and have cared for my Dad and due to some very difficult family circumstances have supported my Mum with unlimited patience, understanding and unconditional care. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff gave my Mum and Dad a social distancing 55th wedding anniversary dinner to remember. During the lockdown, the staff ensured that we were able to keep in touch with Dad by face time calls and they sent a lovely video of all the residents on Dad's suite. The manager has kept us informed of any covid related changes by zoom meetings and newsletters. I have been very happy with the care and support the staff have provided for both my Dad and our family. Thank you.
Thank you, Gina, for leaving such a lovely review of Ashley Gardens. It is a pleasure to care for Dad, and his sense of humour always keeps us smiling. I will share your lovely feedback with the team and look forward to some normality for our visiting in 2021.
Management and staff are committed to providing the best possible care in what has been the most challenging times. We have confidence that Mum's needs are now fully met, and she is well cared for. We can't wait to be able to visit properly, but until such time, the Care Home has done everything they can to keep communication flowing. If there are any issues or concerns, you know they can be raised and will be responded to promptly and professionally. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Thank you so much, Dawn, for taking the time to leave Ashley Gardens such a lovely review. It is an absolute pleasure caring for Mum, and we really miss seeing you all properly. I can't wait for things to return to normal. I will share your lovely feedback with the staff team.
Any communication I have had with staff has always been very helpful and they seem genuinely keen to ensure Dad is well looked after and remains in touch with us (albeit via phone calls).
The manager, as always, remains alert to any issues that may arise and keeps us informed of any updates concerning Covid or otherwise.
A huge thank you to all - I hope you know how much you are appreciated.
Thank you so much, Brenda, for taking the time to leave Ashley Gardens such a lovely review. I am so glad we have been able to maintain contact for you all with Dad and appreciate your participation in the zoom meetings. Your ongoing support and understanding have been so important to us during...

Thank you so much, Rob, for taking the time to leave Ashley Gardens such fabulous feedback. You have been so supportive and understanding throughout 2020 and its the positivity of you all that has kept us all going. We really do feel like a big family here and you are all most definitely a big part...
Due to Covid restrictions, it was not possible to go into the building and communications with the staff suffered consequently. I felt very isolated in the first few weeks and very out of touch.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave Ashley Gardens a 5-star review. I am so sorry that we didn't meet your needs in terms of communication at the start of the placement however I know we did discuss this and we now have put measures in place to improve our communication during these...
Staff always smiling and give warm welcome to visiting family, have coped incredibly well during Covid. Zoom meetings from the manager were excellent, facetime and zoom with dad much appreciated. The visiting pod put up for Covid excellent! Well done to the manager and team.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely positive review of Ashley Gardens. You have been so supportive of us over the past 8 months and we as a home really appreciate your ongoing patience and understanding through these challenging times. I will of course share your lovely feedback with the team. Best wishes Jo.
We were very worried about our aunt going into a care home, but we need not have worried. Why? Because she went into Ashley Gardens Care Centre in Maidstone and they took the VERY greatest care of her. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, they answered all our questions and they kept us informed of any changes to her health straight away. She could be a very difficult lady but they always treated her with kindness, caring, patience and a sense of humour! We never had a minute’s worry about her whilst she was there and we are very grateful for all their help. Thank you, Ashley Gardens.
Many Thanks Robert for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. Myself and the team are so appreciative of such lovely feedback and I will share this with the team. Your Aunt was an absolute character and we all miss her greatly - She did love her tea and plate of biscuits and would always say yes and give such a lovely smile if I offered this to her.
Dad was only at Ashley Gardens for a short time. The staff worked very hard to keep him happy and comfortable through this difficult time. We knew he was in safe hands.
Thank you so much Tracey for taking the time to leave Ashley Gardens this lovely review. It was an absolute pleasure and privilege for us to have taken care of Dad even though only for a short time. I used to enjoy our chats about walks in the country and we all miss him. I will of course share your feedback with the team as they love to hear positive comments about our lovely home.
My sister who has dementia came to Ashley Gardens Care Centre October 2019 after suffering a stroke, at first we thought she was on a downward spiral, but due to the care she has been receiving, there has been a great improvement in her condition for the better. At first, we had to try to persuade her to eat, but on our last visits ( pre Covid 19) she was feeding herself, enjoying her food and gaining weight. We look forward to being able to visit again.
Many thanks, Beryl, for taking the time to leave such a positive review for Ashley Gardens. We really appreciate your support and understanding of the measures we have in place to manage the current situation. We can't wait to welcome you back to visit as soon as it is safe to do so. I will share your lovely comments with the team as they really like reading such positive feedback.
As I live a great distance from the home, especially in these uncertain times. It is a great relief that I know my mother is getting the best possible care. I have nothing but admiration for the professionalism and care shown by all the staff I have been in contact with. The newsletters, weekly video meetings/calls so I can see and speak my mother; all are so so much appreciated in these difficult times. My mother has been in Ashley Gardens since last September. There have been lots of visits from other members of our family over the period until lockdown. They all say the same, how pleased we are that Mum is there, certainly the very best place for all her needs and care. Excellent.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such an amazing review for Ashley Gardens. We as a team really appreciate your positive feedback and I am so glad that the new ways we are keeping in touch with you all are currently are working well for you. I will pass on your lovely feedback to the team as they love to hear such positive comments.
I was so relieved my dad was given a room at Ashley Gardens, it’s a brilliant home, the staff are so caring, and they treat the residents like they are family. I highly recommend the home to anyone. I know my dad is well cared for, which takes a lot of worry off me. Thank you all for your outstanding work.
I would just like to say a massive thank you Sharon for taking the time to leave such an amazing review of Ashley Gardens. I will pass this onto the team - It will make their day - It has certainly made mine. It is a total privilege to look after Dad.
My mum was only in Ashley Gardens for a short time but she was made to feel so welcomed. It is very obvious that the staff have a caring attitude towards all of the residents. I cannot fault the care that my mum received, I was able to leave her knowing that she was safe. I could not have asked for more. Thank you all so much for your kindness during such a difficult time.
Thank you so much for your lovely words about our home and staff - It was an absolute pleasure to care for your Mum, and we are so glad you were happy with the care and attention given. I will share this with the team as positive feedback means the world to them.
Good overall standard. Friendly and hard-working staff.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review of Ashley Gardens. I will share this feedback with the team to reinforce how much they are appreciated.

Meet the Team (5)

I am a passionate nurse and a leader dedicated to delivering excellent care to our residents through a well-supported and skilled team. My role as Home Manager is to support the team in providing person-centred care and to ensure that our residents feel safe and comfortable in their homes.
I have been a Registered Nurse since 2008 and have over 9 years of experience working in the care home environment, including more than 5 years as Deputy Manager.
My team and I look forward to welcoming you to Ashley Gardens, and you can see our passion to ensure our residents receive a high standard of care and, as a team, we strive to achieve our best.

“The home offers an exceptional nursing team who are highly skilled and qualified - a high proportion of the team have been here between 5-10 years. There is a friendly atmosphere throughout the home - people are always willing to give any activities a go and we always try to go above and beyond when planning activities.”

“Ashley Gardens is a busy home, and the pace of work here is fast, which I enjoy. I previously worked in a children’s residential centre and am loving working with older people, having regular interaction with our residents and hearing their stories – there is always something going on.”

He believes you need to be a good communicator, be part of a team, lead by example and be personally driven to succeed in your role.
The favourite part of his working day is when at the end of the day you can be proud of what you have achieved as a team. To recognise individual performances and give praise.
His biggest professional challenge in his career to date was taking over a restaurant which was poorly performing. Customer satisfaction was low and sales decreased along with targets and budgets not being met. Within 12 months sales increased with customer returns continuing to grow. Budgets and targets were being hit and audits were above 95%. Wesley's biggest career highlight to date was being promoted to a flagship restaurant which had yearly sales of £400,000
What qualities do you think make a good home manager?
Wesley enjoys spending a lot of time with his children who always brighten up his day; time at the park and doing activities with them. He also enjoys watching most sports.
His ambition is to become more senior within the Healthcare Homes Group. To oversee the kitchens within and to have an active part in achieving great standards and quality presented food for all our resident's needs.

“I’ve worked at Ashley Gardens since 2014 and love it here. I was a carer and have recently taken the role of receptionist so I am one of the first people you will see when arriving at the home. I already know many of the residents well and am enjoying getting to know the relatives, friends and family who come to our home."
