Review of Claremont Nursing Home from Heidi F (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our experience of Claremont nursing home from the initial phone call right through to end of life has been excellent. The staff were always happy and nothing has been too much trouble . My mum had a room overlooking the courtyard which we found included mum in the outside activities even on days she didn't manage to get up. The activity staff always has something going on with music and singers most weeks. The nursing staff always kept us up to date with medical decisions. I would recommend Claremont as a nursing home to anyone considering it for a family member .

We are generally happy with the overall care provided. The staff are friendly and caring and happy to help in anyway they can. The gardens always look beautiful, a difficult task with the summer we have had! We attended the recent garden party with plenty of food on offer. Would just like to make a suggestion for future events.......please try and serve drinks cold or provide ice.

Majority of staff are absolutely outstanding. There were some teething problems initially, all of which were ironed out by management. Overall my mum is very happy in Oaktree. It would be helpful to us, if there was another hoist on her floor as sometimes we have to wait a while for the use of the one hoist, otherwise we are quite satisfied with the looking after my mum receives. The staff are always smiling and cheerful which make my mum happy.

Review of Avon Lodge Care Centre from Lyn D (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 September 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

Over all care we are happy with. Just a couple of issues with dad being left in lounge area, would be reassuring if more staff kept a look in more often. We also feel some of the staff could be more attentive and understand dementia's needs more. A huge thank you to the 2 wonderful activity staff who try so hard.

Review of Home Close from Pauline C (Widow / Widower) published on 3 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My husband was a resident at Home Close and received the very best care right up to the time he passed away. The care was second to none, nothing was too much trouble, every member of staff went above and beyond to make sure his stay was the best it could be. He spoke well of everyone he came into contact with, they all genuinely cared and treated him with respect. The food was very good and a good variety of choices. The home has a lovely family feel and if I ever have to go in a care home this would be my first choice.

Review of Foxgrove Residential Home from Linda F (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We are very happy with the care our mum has received since moving into Foxgrove in November 2025
At 90 years old, it is such a comfort to know that she is safe, well looked after and cared for by such a kind and caring team. The staff are always friendly and attentive, and it is clear that they genuinely care about the residents.
The food is good, and the lovely gardens are a real bonus, giving residents a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
Most importantly, Mum is happy there, which means so much to us as a family. We feel reassured knowing she is in a safe and caring environment where she is treated with kindness and respect.

We would like to thank all the staff for everything they do to make Mum feel happy, comfortable and well cared for.

Reply from Rebecca Bewley, Home Manager at Foxgrove Residential Home

What lovely words! Thank you so much, it means a great deal to everyone to get the reassurance we are enabling residents to live their best lives and that families can get comfort knowing their loved one is well cared for, safe and happy. I will share this with the team, once again, thank you.

She settled very well and very quickly.
Every carer and management team have been excellent.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Foxgrove.

Reply from Rebecca Bewley, Home Manager at Foxgrove Residential Home

We pride ourselves on Foxgrove being a proper home from home where all the team know all the residents and care for them like they are their own relative. Your comments are very important as they reassure us we are doing the best we can for our residents, and show others who are looking for care for a loved one, what to expect. Thank you again.

Our first month of Mum being a resident and we are blown away. The care and attention to a resident centred care plan is incredible.

The staff are a credit to you. Their empathy is lovely to see.

Review of Oaktree from R V (Husband of Resident) published on 1 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My wife was originally admitted for respite care but it soon became obvious that she would be unable to return home due to the level of care required. She has currently been in Oaktree for six weeks and has settled in well. All the carers and nurses are attentive, empathetic and friendly. My wife has major communication problems that makes it difficult for her to socialise and explain what she needs when trying to communicate with her carers. She has been encouraged to participate to the best of her ability with the activities arranged. She especially enjoyed the pub lunch and the Saturday prom. It is good that family members are welcome to also participate and offer support. I was extremely apprehensive initially about my wife going into care but I am confident that she is in good hands and is treated professionally and with genuine affection. There is definitely a bond developing with some of the staff.

Review of Avon Lodge Care Centre from Wendy B (Daughter of Resident) published on 1 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Everyone at Avon Lodge have been brilliant in settling mum in after a short stay in hospital. She has lived independently right up until this time (she's 91) so they have been very caring and respectful of helping her adjust. They put mums wishes at the forefront and balance that with the need to be safe and comfortable. They went to a lot of trouble to enable her to eat in the dining room (despite the challenges of moving her) and we and she really appreciated that....she loved the food too.

Review of Cedar Court Care Home from Paul C (Husband of Resident) published on 31 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My wife was transferred from another unrelated care home just 5 days ago. To compare them is like 'comparing chalk to cheese. Cedar Court staff are caring an personable. My wife's room is large., warm and inviting. My wife has already started to settle in and I and my family are confident that the move will prove to be so beneficial for her.

Review of Foxgrove Residential Home from Colin B (Son of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The staff are very good on all matters
And the food is also very good with a varied choice of food
The residents are made to feel comfortable with their surroundings
And receive great care

The home has a lovely garden area for residents to get out and sit in

Reply from Rebecca Bewley, Home Manager at Foxgrove Residential Home

Thank you for such a lovely review. We are very lucky to have the historic grounds and gardens for everyone to use. A little wildlife haven, which the residents enjoy. Food is a very important part of our home, and having home cooked food to the residents taste is very important. I will pass your comments to the team, thank you again.
