At Healthcare Homes staff are compassionate, committed and caring. They are selected for these values and the management team do everything they can to support staff to help them to fulfil their promises to you.

The team treat everyone they care for just as they would a member of their own family; every member of staff is treated as a family member too.

The homes are warm, friendly places. They range from rural Vicarages and Manor Houses to urban modern builds. Healthcare Homes doesn't do cookie cutter!

Once you have decided that a move into one of their care homes is the right decision for you, they do everything they can to get to know you well so that they can design a care plan that is completely bespoke and unique.

They take the time to find out about your care needs and preferences: the types of hobbies and activities you would enjoy; what you have done in your lifetime and what routines you are used to; what you do and don’t like to eat; and much more. They then design and document a care plan so that everybody involved in your care knows exactly how you would like to be cared for.

And they provide much more than care homes. They also offer wrap-around 24-hour live-in care; homecare packages that adapt to your needs; and specialist care for people with more complex needs. And when your needs change, their care can change to meet your needs.

Oaklands House

from n w (Son of Resident) published on 28 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Following a serious fall last November our mother decided that a period of respite after being discharged from hospital was necessary as we felt that being at her home would not have been safe or conducive to a proper recovery.

Our initial impressions of Oaklands were that it was a well run home that

had a lovely atmosphere but more importantly the level of care and interaction between the staff and the residents was fabulous and so important that they were made to feel welcome.

So much so that as our mother started to become more mobile she decided that being a permanent resident at Oaklands really was the route forward. Suffice to say the level of care, quality of food, interaction with staff at all levels has been first class, mother feels safe, well looked after and content. We would have no hesitation in recommending Oaklands House as a respite or permanent home.

Reply from Ian Gooch, Home Manager at Oaklands HouseThank you so much for the lovely feedback , i have amazing staff and they go above and beyond for all of our lovely residents.

The Malthouse Residential Home

from S W (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 April 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
We suddenly needed to find a care home for my mother and I knew of The Malthouse because I had visited my uncle and aunt there and had such a good impression. She has been there for two months now and we have been very pleased with their care. She has told us that she likes it there and is well looked
after and the people are kind. The scale and interior at The Malthouse are cosy and homely unlike many such places and it has a pretty garden which I know my mother will enjoy. Yesterday was her 90th birthday and we did not until recently expect to be celebrating it with her in a care home but it was a lovely happy day. The staff had gone to some trouble to make it look very festive and were so helpful. It is clear from my dealings with the staff so far, that this is an exceptional place and the people working there really do care. The activities they put on are marvellous - my mother has not had so much social interaction in years and she has been on several day trips too.
Reply from Debra Wyke, Home Manager at The Malthouse Residential HomeThank you for taking the time to review our home. We are so pleased to be able to care for mother here and thank you for choosing our home. We look forward to making many more happy memories for both your mother and yourselves here. Thank you for your kind words and this will be passed on to the team.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both in her brightest hour and in her darkest hours of pallative care, my wife has been cared for so kindly and considerately by Alexandra Care Home. If a hospital offer you a transfer to Alexandra, take it like a shot. The rooms are large, bright and airy. The staff are outstanding and the meals are
so good. My wife was on the nursing floor and I have to say that she was nursed brillinatly and that I , as her carer, was also cared for.
Reply from Gina Gadek, Home Manager at Alexandra Care HomeThank you, Paul, we always appreciate individuals taking the time to give their feedback and we are very pleased to hear that your experience at Alexandra Care Home was so positive. My Mother entered Hanford house Ipswich on 30/12/25 and passed away 02/04/26
My mother was not an easy person to please but the Staff here kept their smile and Care levels did not change at any time. She really enjoyed the entertainment and made great friends with Nick. She was bed bound from day
one and why the hospital admitted her along with social services. Each and every member of nursing/care cleaning and admin- management were there for everything she needed night and day. The young man who looked after her clothes went above and beyond.
We stayed with Mum over night and all day the last few days of her life and was offered more tea / coffee and sandwiches than we could ever need while at the same time left us to spend special time alone with mum.
Reply from Agnieszka McDonald, Home Manager at Handford HouseThank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly delighted to hear that you were pleased with the care provided in our nursing home to your mother.
Our team works hard to create a warm, supportive, and respectful environment for all residents, and it's incredibly rewarding to know that this has made a positive difference. Your feedback means a great deal to us and will be shared with our staff, who will be encouraged by your appreciation.

Resident has hearing impairment, also his memory (short-term) is very poor. I have been visiting Kingsley Court since 2025 as one of our church members is placed here. I found the staff to be caring and very supportive. He is well taken care of. I visit at different times, his meals look nutritious,
and he enjoys his tea and biscuits at intervals of which I was offered tea/biscuits too. His room is clean. He presented well-kempt at all times I visited. I cannot comment on activities or value for money. I believe his relative should do that. Overall no complaints.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother has been in the care of Olive House for over 2 years. Along with other family members we have always been made to feel welcome on visits, there's a friendly, warm vibe throughout the home. The home itself has a modern feel to it with wide corridors & everything on one level. Regularly decorated
and always clean. Carers, staff & management are friendly and we feel that Mum is well looked after by a caring, hardworking team.
Reply from Rachel Gee, Home Manager at Olive HouseThank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It truly means a great deal to our whole team. We're delighted to hear that you and your family continue to feel welcomed and supported during your visits, and that the atmosphere of the home gives you confidence in the care your mother receives.

We take pride in maintaining a clean, modern, and comfortable environment, and it's wonderful to know this has made a positive difference to your experience. Most importantly, your kind words about our carers, staff, and management team are deeply appreciated. They work incredibly hard to provide compassionate, person-centred care, and feedback like this reinforces why they do what they do.

Sovereign Lodge Care Centre

As far as I can tell my sister seems quite content with her life at Sovereign Lodge. She enjoys the food and spends much of her time reading, which she has always done. The staff are polite and friendly and the home clean and tidy. I am happy that there is a nurse to help if she is poorly.
Reply from Margaret Coscolluela, Home Manager at Sovereign Lodge Care CentreThank you for sharing this with us. We're so glad to hear your sister seems happy and settled-it's always wonderful when residents can continue doing the things they love. Your comments about the team and the home mean a lot, and we're especially pleased that you feel reassured by the care and nursing support we provide.

Most of last year 2025 I spent in hospital and rehabilitation, it was a tough time until I was able to get a place at Sovereign Lodge, I have been here since October. The love and care, support and faith I have been given by HCA's nurses and activity staff has been amazing. I was all over the place
then but now I can think and enjoy all the wonderful things the home has to offer. The food is great, my medication is well looked after and given to me in timely fashion. I am motivated by all the activities and I love it here.

Hillcroft House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our brother came to Hillcroft House late 2025 after 3 weeks of bed hopping in a main hospital and after a few months in a mental health unit prior to that. We were very relieved that he had a room and bed to call his own as he needed that security. His stay was initially for 6 weeks respite care but
this was extended until we found somewhere long term nearer to family. The staff at Hillcroft were extremely kind and supportive and helped our brother feel secure in his surroundings whilst there. All were easy to talk to if we had any concerns and this made our brother's stay easier for us too. Our thanks to Cathrine and Tony in particular.
Reply from Cathrine Arbon, Home Manager at Hillcroft HouseDear Anna, Thank you so much for sending the review. We all miss your brother and wish him every success in his future, such a kind gentleman. We were so pleased to assist him with his journey. We wish you all the best for the future.

Warm wishes Cathrine
