In August 2025 my nanny was very poorly in hospital and she needed a nursing home.
There was a really lovely nurse who came from the nursing home to see myself and my nanny at the hospital. The nurse was very kind, caring and understanding as I explained I had never been in this situation before.

The nurse was very professional and said "it's ok Louise we will look after nanny"
I was feeling very anxious about everything. My nanny was on palliative care at the time .
we was greeted by a wonderful team of nurses , health care assistants and everywhere was very clean and organised, ALL the staff was so lovely and all of a sudden this felt like a family place where I felt comfortable leaving nanny .I sat with nanny I sat with nanny and had a lovely cup of tea there was no one rushing me to leave . I was very emotional at the time and the amazing staff comfted me . The meals nan receives are all home made, there is lots of activities available.well done Park house your all amazing

Park House Nursing Home

from Julie A (Friend of Resident) published on 4 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My friend transferred from supported living to Park House Nursing Home earlier this year, following a diagnosis of vascular dementia. He had rapidly deteriorated and was in and out of hospital with issues and falls and his level of care was so poor.

Since arriving at Park House he has what I can

only describe as "sprung back to life". This Home is really a home from home. The staff are amazing, kind, caring, friendly, supportive, attentive and always smiling and pleased to see you and everyone under their care. It's apparent that this radiates from the top down. The level of care is exemplary as is the quality of food and activities for the residents.

We are beyond grateful for how you have transformed my friend and we know that he is in the best place possible, which gives us such peace of mind, we couldn't ask for you.

Thank you all so much.

Julie

All the staff were kind, friendly and very caring. Residents were encouraged to join in activities and my wife enjoyed these and though she would not usually join in, the cares encouragement worked! Food was good, the room nice. Overall a great ( respite) experience which we hope to repeat when the
need for respite care comes round again with a view to long term care in the future. Thank you all!

A big thank you for care and friendship you have all given my father over the past two years.
When dad first came to Home Meadow he was very reluctant to come out of his room - or join in any of the activities. However, you all worked hard to encourage dad to go up to the lounge and following this
dad started socialising and enjoying the activities.
This was solely down to the dedication of you - the Home Meadow staff.
Dad loved Home Meadow - and this is very apparent in talking to him and seeing the wonderful photos of him laughing and enjoying himself - you all made the last two years of dad's
life happy and content.

My father was in Home Close Care Home from Nov 2023 - Oct 2025. His first year, he was mobile and preferred being in a 'home'. The staff were excellent in welcoming him (& us as visitors) & learning to cope with his frustrations. From Oct 2024, he was bed bound and incontinent, but still the staff dealt
with his conditions with excellent care and attitude. He died in Oct 2025, and this was dealt with in a very caring manner. My wife and I would be pleased to be in Home Close when we're older!

Cannot speak highly enough of Hillings. My dad spent 2 weeks here for respite! The staff are all wonderful, caring, kind, funny and comitted, from the carers to management. Day one they made dad feel cared for important aswell as family members and put them at ease! Always very informative by telephone
whenever we needed to be updated. I would recommend Hillings highly.

My husband has been a resident in Home Meadow Care Home for over 4 months and is settling well with great support from all the staff. I visit most days, and the carers are always very kind and caring. Office staff too are extremely caring and supportive to residents and their families, always extremely
heloful and supportive and always ready to help with any questions. There is easy access to a very safe garden area, and residents enjoy time outside in fine weather.
There is good security and weekly fire alarm checks. My husband is enjoying the meals and is eating well. He is in a safe and happy place, living amongst kind and helpful people. Also, live music happens regularly, as well as weekly hairdressing. We are very happy with Home Meadow.

My mother went into Home Close for end-of-life care. The care she received was fantastic. Her granddaughter has SEN, and the staff were just as brilliant with her, too. The staff did everything they could to make Mum comfortable. They are all excellent, from the manager down. Nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you to each and every one of you for making her last few weeks and days as comfortable as you possibly could.

My mum was cared for by caring and compassionate staff, they soon got to know her and her wishes and requests were catered for in a person centred way. Staff were friendly and approachable. The seniors always communicated well informing me of any changes in mums health, willing to give time to us when
we visited. Sadly mum deteriorated soon after becoming a resident, the loving, caring, dedicated staff looked after her excellently. The respect shown when mum died was of the highest class. Well done Hillings staff so professional.

My wife has been resident at Home Close since 2016, and I am very glad that she is in this care home rather than others that we looked at. The staff are caring, dedicated and professional, and appear to love their job. The general atmosphere has improved noticeably since the arrival of the new manager,
who initiated improvements straight away and is lively, friendly and dedicated. Her stated aim is to improve conditions for residents, and she doing this with great enthusiasm. The care home's situation, on a quiet village road and surrounded by lawns and mature trees make it a very pleasant place for residents to enjoy. I recommend Home Close wholeheartedly, and without any reservation.

During the short time our mum was a resident at The Hillings her care was excellent. The carers and staff couldn't have done more to help her settle and be comfortable in her new surroundings which she understandably took a while to adjust to. They showed professionalism at all times and clearly love
the job they do. When our mum passed away the care to the family was equally excellent making time to talk to us and supporting us in dealing with our loss.
Thank you to each and every member of the team for what you did for our mum.

My brother-in-law was a resident at Park House Nursing home from Feb 2024 to June 2025. He missed his independence being in a nursing home and never really accepted that this was now his way of life. As his family lived many miles away it was not possible to visit as often as we would have liked. However,
we know that he was in a safe place and was being well looked after by such caring staff. He was in end of life care for several months but passed away suddenly but peacefully. One of his carers told us that she dressed him in one of his favourite shirts before he was taken away such a thoughtful gesture and much appreciated by us.They certainly looked after him to the very end. Our thanks go out to you all.
