The White House

from Rosemary M (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 October 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum had Alzheimer's and during later years presented challenging behaviors; she couldn't continue living in her home but The White House provided consistency of care and got to know her. They enabled mum to accept the day to day care she had mostly refused and communicated on a level, and in ways,
she responded to. The dignity, respect, kindness and good humour was always provided to her on a level I will be forever grateful for. The warmth, patience and insight the staff showed mum, and me, was just heart warming, wonderful.
Reply from Elena Dolniceanu, Home Manager at The White House

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We loved your mum, she was such a character, it's been a privilege to look after her and learn about her amazing life.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am extremely happy with the care my father is receiving at Aldringham Court. After a few very unsettling years, my father has found peace in its beautiful surroundings. The staff could not be more caring towards my father and are always very welcoming when I visit. Dad is included in a wide range
of activities that take place at home, and I love seeing the photos posted on their social media page of what they get up to. The nursing staff are very professional and are always willing to discuss Dad's health and well-being. Dad enjoys the 'home cooked meals' and I am very grateful for the time and effort spent on his birthday. The special birthday cake and gifts made his day. It is a lovely place for my father's last years. Thank you.

We're so grateful to have found such a lovely home for our dad who has complex health needs. Barking Hall truly is a home from home with kind, caring staff who genuinely do all that they can to make sure all the residents feel special and are treated with immense kindness and respect. The nurses and
carers are superb as are the housekeeping staff and kitchen staff. The food is home cooked and delicious. The whole team is lead by a wonderful manager who really cares, not only for the residents who she treats as her own family members but also their relatives.
I can't praise them highly enough.

Fornham House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Uncle has been staying in Fornham for two years on the dementia unit. He has been totally at home there with a lovely room and en suite, and enjoyed the activities greatly. Sadly he died at the end of August. His condition meant he could present some challenging behaviours and the staff on the unit
were patient and kind, handling him with great care throughout. When he reached end of life care they could not be more attentive and caring, keeping us well informed and making many adjustments to his room and sitting with him regularly to make sure he wasn't alone or frightened. He didn't have much family, and we live in the north of England so visiting for us was limited, and we were all so grateful for the extra steps and kindness. The manager of the ward also helped us with registration of his death, definitely above and beyond. Thank you St Gen's for taking care of our loved one.

Met at reception with a smile. Was pleasantly surprised to meet my family member looking so well. The care he has been given has enhanced the quality of his life greatly. He no longer needs assistance to walk - his diet has improved and so too has his strength. He is engaging with the other residents
and partaking in activities, painting being his favourite. It is such a relief to know he is happy the worry we had is gone.

Oaklands House

from Clare R (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Father had a rapid decline in health, one which we could no longer manage at home, and we decided to seek respite care. We were met by a carer at the car on arrival, who welcomed us with warmth, authentic care and gentle humour which lightened the gravity of the situation. That warmth, humanity and
care was consistently maintained throughout his stay and, despite such a short respite period of one month, his Parkinson's anxiety has improved greatly. I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness, genuine care and humour. Oaklands is an inviting, light and friendly place - the care is given in such a way as to allow residents to maintain their individual 'personhood'. From carers to chefs to management, there is a tangible lack of corporate edge. There is, however, an ever present sense that they will go the extra yard to support the dignity of the resident alongside the support they extend to family members trying to navigate the emotional and practical elements of this journey.
Reply from Shane SIllett, Acting Manager at Oaklands House

From the very beginning of getting in touch with Fornham House they have been brilliant with everything. Mum is being cared for very well. It was lovely visiting mum and all the staff knowing her name within a couple of days. With over 80 residents that's pretty amazing. The management team always make
time to listen as do all the carers as well, nothing is too much trouble. There is a very friendly atmosphere and activities to join in with. It's been good to visit mum and know she is being well looked after and having peace of mind when I leave. The meals look good and there are hot drinks too, cold water and squash are always available. Mum can have her meals with the others in the dining room which is lovely or have her meals in her room if she prefers. There is an onsite hairdresser who also does nails. I am so pleased to know my mum is very well looked after. My mums birthday was last Friday and a cake was made and brought in with candles and everyone sang Happy Birthday, perfect.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I was very impressed with the atmosphere at Uvedale Hall. The staff were very friendly and my aunt is very happy there. The rooms were very clean and were an inviting place to enjoy.
My aunt really likes all the staff and appreciates the care she is given. She enjoys being able to attend the garden
and feed the birds from her room.
