This was the first visit to see my aunt, and I took my 90 year old mother also to visit her sister. First impression - festively decorated and staff very welcoming.
Taken to the dementia wing, people in the communal area with a singer, it was joyful.
My aunt was cared for, treated with joyful dignity.
Rooms
are beautifully clean, and residents are cheerful and clean! The home looked and smelled clean, well done to all staff.

Barking Hall is a lovely, homely, friendly care home that is very comfortable and very clean. The staff really make an effort to be helpdul and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and everything seems to get done with a smile. The care provided appears to be respectful and thoughtfully provided to
allow residents to feel a sense of contentment and well being. The rooms are pleasant and not clinical, some are very spacious. The resident cat makes it feel even more like 'home' My friend is very well looked after and I can tell he is feeling content whenever I visit.

Moved Dad from another care home that wasn't 'caring'. Within a couple of months, Dad was much more responsive, wanted to see the garden and absolutely loved his room. The carers here were so kind to him, unlike the previous home, and he started acting like our Dad again. Cannot thank the staff here
enough. He was well cared for, warm, comfortable and happy - what more could you ask for?

Uvedale Hall

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum has been living at Uvedale Hall for just over two years now and from the first day everyone has been so welcoming, caring and always professional. All the staff from the Manager to the care teams, kitchen staff, housekeepers and gardening and maintenance teams are always so helpful and friendly,
making sure that all the residents and families feel welcome and supported. Nothing is too much trouble and they all try to make sure that everyone has their physical and emotional support needs met. The afternoon activities are absolutely wonderful and everyone is encouraged to join in and also offer suggestions for new activities. The food is marvellous and everyone enjoys meals. Mum has made many new friends and we have no concerns about her welfare and happiness. Each person is treated as an individual and during Mum's review particular attention was paid to what Mum likes doing and what makes her happy.

Sadly Dad has recently passed. He was aged 103 years and lived a full life. His last 3 years and four months were at Uvedale Hall. He was very independent and proud and really did not want to enter a care home, we were worried about this. Fortunately for us Dad entered Uvedale Hall where he quickly
settled in because the staff are quite simply an amazing bunch. It is such a friendly place, Dad made new friends with guests but especially the staff as they were always chatting to him (he was very social and loved chatting) and they were so very kind and considerate. He became part of their family and they cared for him so well. Dad always enjoyed his food and this was another excellent thing. The entertainment was also incredible, Dad especially enjoyed Bingo, quizzes, pool, exercises and all the brilliant things which were thought up by the entertainment carer, she is just a natural at that job. A big thank you to Uvedale Hall for making Dad's last few years so comfortable and enjoyable
Reply from Suzanne York, Registered Home Manager at Uvedale HallThank you so much for taking the time to write us such a beautiful review, when you and your family are grieving. Having your father live with us here was an absolute honour. He has taught us all so very much, he was a true gentleman and we will miss him greatly. With our very best wishes, The Manager and Team Uvedale.

My brother was placed in Aldringham Court Care Home, suffering from lung cancer, which had metastasised into the brain. He was very well cared for by the nursing staff and care assistants. We visited every month or so and always found the home to be a very welcome place. It is a very well run nursing

My Mum has lived at Foxearth Lodge for four years now, and has received consistently exemplary care; she is wholly dependent on the wonderful staff, who treat her with dignity, compassion and gentle kindness.

That same core of long-standing staff cared similarly for my Father, who spent the last

year of his life in comfort at Foxearth.

I cannot praise the whole team highly enough - they are always professional, even when working within some trying constraints on occasions.

They always rise to the occasion and I am so grateful to them.

Truly outstanding care.

Aldringham Court

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother had 2 weeks of respite care at Aldringham Court because her companion was away, and to inform a decision down the line as to her care preferences. We found the staff outstanding, without exception, everyone was so happy, kind, caring and proactive. Staffing levels were high, which made the
whole environment calm and reassuring. My mother said the food was excellent, and again catering staff was very helpful. Mummy would have liked to have gone into the garden without being accompanied - I understand this is more practical in the summer months. A successful first visit. P.S. Other residents seemed to be comfortable and catered for. Thank you.

My elderly mother stayed at Aldringham Court for four months while her home was completely renovated after a flood. Throughout her stay, she was cared for and made to feel welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful to both my mother and her family and friends. The home was incredibly clean and tidy,
and always smelled homely. The friendly activity team did all they could to include my mother in all activities. It would be a huge benefit if the garden were more accessible for residents. There were a few occasions when male residents came into my mother's room, which made her feel very unsafe. This needs to be addressed.

The White House

from Rosemary M (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 October 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum had Alzheimer's and during later years presented challenging behaviors; she couldn't continue living in her home but The White House provided consistency of care and got to know her. They enabled mum to accept the day to day care she had mostly refused and communicated on a level, and in ways,
she responded to. The dignity, respect, kindness and good humour was always provided to her on a level I will be forever grateful for. The warmth, patience and insight the staff showed mum, and me, was just heart warming, wonderful.
Reply from Elena Dolniceanu, Home Manager at The White HouseThank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We loved your mum, she was such a character, it's been a privilege to look after her and learn about her amazing life.
