The manager does indeed have a genuine "open door" policy. The attitudes of the manager and staff are reflected in the high standard of care at Sovereign Lodge and make it a good example of just how good carehome care can be.

Chris has just passed his year's anniversary of going into Sovereign Lodge. His health has been very uneven this year so he has found it hard. But the staff have been kind, considerate and respectful of him as an individual with his likes and dislikes, and try to put him at his ease. As a result he has made good relationships with staff and would say some are his 'friends' rather than his carers. You rarely go into visit without hearing singing or laughter somewhere along the corridor. Activities take place most days. It is a lovely home.

Sovereign Lodge is a fantastic care home - the staff are so lovely & helpful. If my Dad cannot live at home, there is nowhere better than Sovereign Lodge to take care of him.

Very pleased overall with everything

Both my parents have been living at Sovereign Lodge for over a year. The care and support they have recieved has been responsive, caring and compassionate. Both parents' needs have changed, but staff are so responsive and accepting, adapting their approaches. The activities team are amazing + inclusive. Every day they go above and beyond + look outside the home for opportunities all the time. I would highly recommend Sovereign Lodge and thank them.

Mum is always up, washed and dressed. Happy in the lounge enjoys the activities and music. If Mum is distressed the staff are very good at calming her down. Her room is always clean and tidy and she enjoys her lunch & suppers. We always feel we can talk to staff, management with no problem, and we are always listened to.

Mum & Dad receive good care & attention. Activities are varied & Mum in particular has a good variety of things to do. I feel food could be better on occasions, but Mum never complains about being hungry! I get frequent communications from nurses & management about any issues, and feel confident that I am being kept up to date.

All staff are positive, friendly and welcoming. It is clear that staff care for the wellbeing of residents and know the individual needs of residents, building rapport with resident and respective families.

My mum had the most amazing amount of love and care from all at Sovereign Lodge. My mum Pearl was in the home nearly 6 years, she was loved, cared for and treated with the most up right dignity. Mum went along to all the activities and loved singing and dancing. The home catered to all mums needs when changing through the years.

My wife was transferred from E/Bourne DGH to Sovereign Lodge for assessment. She found the facility very comfortable; more like a hotel than a care home. The staff were very respectful and diligent a small personality clash was looked into professionally by management, quickly resolved and given the maximum concern. I am hopeful that if required again, that my wife will be accommodated. Well done, Sovereign Lodge!!

I love this care home. I have been here for over seven years. I have received nothing but kindness and affection from the care staff. I cannot speak highly enough for the quality of care that I have received.

Nursing staff are diligent and fully aware of issues and have dealt with medical issues as they have arisen. Outside in the garden offers a great area for residents on sunny days with refreshments and games available in the summer house. This home has been perfect for my mum, she is happy , safe and well cared for.

As far as I can tell my sister seems quite content with her life at Sovereign Lodge. She enjoys the food and spends much of her time reading, which she has always done. The staff are polite and friendly and the home clean and tidy. I am happy that there is a nurse to help if she is poorly.

Most of last year 2025 I spent in hospital and rehabilitation, it was a tough time until I was able to get a place at Sovereign Lodge, I have been here since October. The love and care, support and faith I have been given by HCA's nurses and activity staff has been amazing. I was all over the place then but now I can think and enjoy all the wonderful things the home has to offer. The food is great, my medication is well looked after and given to me in timely fashion. I am motivated by all the activities and I love it here.

Sovereign Lodge Care Home is an open, friendly, welcoming home. It's security is sound, with a code to get in and another code to exit. The ground floor residents lounge is right there as one enters, and its two adjoining rooms give plenty of room for visitors to be with their friends or relatives. There is a slight shortage of chairs which isn't much of a problem if there aren't too many people. Thankfully we were fine. The staff are helpful and friendly. They are too occupied to offer guests refreshments, but there is a lot for them to do when meal times come around. The furnishings are comfortable. The bedrooms seem to be well appointed.

Whenever I visit everyone is so friendly. It always smells clean and inviting which sometimes can be difficult to control in a care home. The food always looks lovely and the entertainment is perfect for anyone who wishes to join in. I cannot fault the security, the care and the privacy that is undertaken by everyone. Thank you x

Very friendly & cheerful staff. Nice atmosphere.

The best establishment I have visited for a long time. Most impressed by the care from all staff, with calm support and how they all support each other. Noticed equipment available to help the residents from chair to wheelchair with little discomfort as possible. Also the number of staff on duty at any one time. Overall 10+. Thank you all for giving myself a Christmas to remember.
