Mum moved in to Bilney Hall several weeks ago. She has got her sparkle back, before she was very isolated and was unable to leave her home. Now she has made friends, and thinks all of the carers and staff are lovely. She's joining in with all of the activities, eating foods that she hasn't had in along
time, and everytime I visit her she looks so well and happy. Mum says it feels like home, and I couldn't have asked for her move to have gone better. The staff/carers are always friendly when I visit and I feel so much better knowing she is so well looked after by people who really care.

My godfather was sent on discharge from hospital. He and I have found the staff absolutely wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they take time to talk and listen to concerns of residents and visitors. They do everything they can to make residents feel loved and cared for. They are kind and encourage
all to take part in the activities on offer. My godfather is going on a visit to the cathedral, he wasn't sure about going, but the staff took time to put his mind at rest about the worries he had, small, caring home, highly recommended.

Overall we found Mum's care was good particularly with a couple of staff members. When Mum became incontinent it took some time before she could be assessed and supplied with the necessary items to keep her clean and dry and to avoid the overriding smell of urine in her room. We did bring in Tena Ladies
underwear but don't believe these were regularly used. However once Mum was assessed this issue was resolved.
Mum seemed happy at Shipdham Manor therefore we were happy with how she was cared for in her last few years.

Care for my nan has been nothing but exceptional from the moment she moved in, she has only been there a few weeks and we can notice a massive change with how content and settled she is there. There is always something going on for them to do, Everyone is very friendly and as my nan said "it's like
one big family" would highly recommend Bilney Care Home. Thank you for everything you do!
Reply from Nikki Shaw, Home Manager at Bilney Hall Care HomeThankyou for this lovely review. Nan has settled in really well and it feels like she has been here for ever.

Amazing care home, walking in and the homely feeling was brilliant. The staff greeted us and made a fuss of mum. Have stayed for lunch with mum a couple of times and the food was lovely, and nothing seems too much trouble. The home is very clean and mum is looked after very well. I certainly would highly
recommend The Gables to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved ones.
Reply from Chris Chambers, Manager at The Gables Care HomeThank you for your feedback. Although your mum hasn't been with us long, she seems to be very settled and happy to be with us. I'm really pleased that your mum is with us and that you already feel part of our extended family.

Love dad's care home. Staff treat him like he is a member of their family. He is always clean and dressed beautifully. Dad is very settled and happy here which is a huge relief for me. I visit every other day and have become very fond of the staff and the other residents. But I also see alot more than
I suspect most visitors do and I can honestly say all the patients are treated so kindly and humanely.
I have nothing but good things to say. Thanks BCH.

I am very happy with the care my husband receives at Walcot Hall. All the staff are very kind and caring and friendly, and always make me and the family very welcome when we come to visit. They are always willing to answer any worries we night have although it is not so easy at weekend. The cleanliness,
laundry, and food is excellent and the activities are very good - varied.

This nursing home is simply excellent. I have experienced several homes over the years but this home is head and shoulders above them all. From top to bottom the focus is on care and compassion. The ethos is one of doing their very best for residents, extending to family and friends. Nothing is too
much trouble and just ask. There is a warmth about the place and you join their family when residing there and you are treated as family. Sadly my wife's stay was only short but up to end the staff were doing all they could to make her as comfortable as possible and they could easily have said there was no point. My son and I were there a lot and they did all they could to look after us as well. All the staff were so considerate, polite, caring and helpful and this stems from management. I cannot praise them enough and they provide a first class environment and service. Food good, clean, lovely rooms and beautiful surroundings as well. Very highly recommended. Well done management and staff.
Reply from Connie Hughes, Home Manager at Walcot Hall Nursing HomeThank you so very much for such beautiful, kind words about the services being provided at Walcot Hall. We all aim to provide a home from home experience, we are so pleased to learn you could feel this during your wife's care with us. It was such a pleasure and honour to look after your wife during such a very sad and difficult journey for you all, we all thank you for trusting in us to provide the highest level of care we could during her time with us. I will share your kind words with the whole team here at Walcot Hall, with sincerest thanks - Connie and Team Walcot Hall.

Can't rate highly enough the excellent level of care mum is receiving from all staff involved. Newly arrived for a period of respite care, staff have been able to reassure her and family during this initial phase of settling in to somewhere completely unknown.
Without exception I have been delighted
to observe individualised care with mum's wishes respected and family also supported and given time for questions and queries.
Reply from Ian Gooch, Home Manager at Claremont Nursing HomeThank You!! what a wonderful review, highlighting the dedication of all staff with any admission into the home. Respite or permanent, each and every resident and their families will always receive the highest standards of care and support.

Seeing and experiencing the level of care, help and assistance and love shown to my mother since her arrival at Shipdham Manor gives me a great deal of relief. to be with you.

My brother-in-law Boots took up residence nearly a year ago. His sister {my wife} and our son were all worried about how he would settle in, and whether he would cause chaos and mahem! We can confidently say that Boots has settled in and has only caused a slight amount of chaos and mahem possibly slightly
assisted by myself!
The home fits all his requirments. He gets on well with the staff and sings his praises about them to us, sometimes literally! Boots enjoys the other residents and has made friends with many of them.
It is a pity that he can not get out in the open as much as he would like to, as his artistic eye likes to embrace nature.
We are happy with his first year at Bilney Hall
Thank you to everyone who has cared for Boots

Staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. They know the residents well and respond to their individual needs, calmly and appropriately. Residents appear clean and well cared for. There is a range of regular activities, garden for those who enjoy being outside. Sometimes the alarm bells can be left
ringing for some time. Residents are safe.
Reply from Jessica Turner, Manager at Shipdham Manorthank you for your kind words, our staff are all very passionate about providing person centred care. I am sorry you feel call bells can be ringing for some time, I will address this with the staff, we complete regular call bell monitoring audits to ensure bells are responded to efficiently and will continue to monitor this.

The home has a warm homely atmosphere, the rooms are very clean, decoration is good. The residents are encouraged to bring in ornaments, pictures etc to make them feel at home. Rooms have en-suites which allows privacy & dignity for the residents. The views from the room look onto very well maintained
gardens with easy access to them. The two large lounges are very spacious. The management & staff are very caring & supportive well staffed & are good at keeping familes up dated. My friend really enjoys the food & there is a wide variety of activities. The safety & security is a high priority excellent value for money.

I have found the Shipdham Manor care home to be an excellent choice. My wife spent the last 2 1/2 years living there and I believe she was as happy as she could possibly be whilst suffering with dementia which she has had for over 5 years in total. The family atmosphere which is encouraged at the home
was largely responsible for my wife's relative happiness and I appreciated the care and support for both my wife and I have always received. I have always been made very welcome on my many visits. I would and regularly recommend the home to everyone I know and meet.
Reply from Jessica Turner, Manager at Shipdham ManorThank you for your kind words, we pride ourselves in making a homely atmosphere to help everyone feel safe and relaxed. We are here to support loved ones as well as individuals in our care, we are one big family.

attention she gets. Amazing place.
Reply from Jessica Turner, Manager at Shipdham Manorthank you for your kind words, we understand that End of Life care can be difficult for all involved, we work hard to ensure that everyone feels reassured, loved and cared for to make this time as easy as possible.
