Thankyou very much for your time taken to complete this review. As a team we always do our best to ensure our residents come first and their choices and preferences are respected. I am very pleased that the team have supported our residents to deliver outstanding care.
I would like to thank the staff for making my mother's 98th birthday a very special day for her. A big thank you especially to Amber who made an absolutely delicious cake after casually asking her what her favourite cake was and the result was a carrot, walnut and ginger! It was brought into her room and the staff sang her 'Happy Birthday '. Thank you for the extra effort, it makes a lot of difference to the residents.
Thank so much for your kind words. The staff team at Saxlingham Hall loved celebrating her birthday, we look forward to the next thing to celebrate.
The home is like my second home and the staff are like a family to me. I am so comforted that my mother is being cared for so well. I can't thank all the staff enough for the care and love they have shown my mother and I.
Whenever we have a question or problem it is always sorted out and a solution found.
My brother and I are so grateful for all the staff at the home for all they do.

On the whole I received excellent care here at Saxlingham Hall. Food good once I persuaded them that I like fruit. It was perfect to recover here after an operation as I was able to rest properly and put my feet up when needed.
Thank you for your kind words about Saxlingham Hall. We loved having you with us, and wish you the very best for the future.
The care home has wonderful staff who go and beyond to look after their residents and families and they show nothing but care and compassion for all their residents even when times are very busy and challenging. They are all fantastic
Thank you so much for your kind words about the staff team at Saxlingham Hall. It is a genuine pleasure to have your Mum with us, and please let us know if there is anything we can do to support you further.
The care of my 100-year-old father is wonderful. The home has catered for a medal presentation and a 100th birthday party. The thought that went into decorating the dining room was excellent. Wonderful cakes, nibbles, wines and beverages provided for over 30 guests we invited, a day of priceless memories made for us all. The daily menu is varied and the food is excellent. The staff have my highest gratitude, all are caring and attend to their patients with great respect and for us, they now feel like wonderful friends. I now leave for Australia but know my father will be well looked after by our extended family, thank you so much.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Saxlingham Hall, it continues to be our privilege to have your dad with us.
A warm and caring atmosphere provided for our mum in her final days.
Thank you Jane for taking the time to review our home and your experience.
My grandmother is happy at the nursing home. The staff are all very pleasant when I visit and my grandmother gets on well with the staff. My grandmother has no complaints. However, I feel that there could be some improvements. I feel there needs to be more staff and more focus on the wellbeing of the residents, especially getting them involved in activities so they are not so isolated. Sometimes I feel residents are got up too late also. I also dislike the curtains on the bathroom doors and would like to see these replaced.
My wife has had two fortnight periods in Saxlingham Hall and received excellent care and treatment while there. Accommodation standards are high, food is very good and the atmosphere in the home is of a very caring nature.
Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your respite stay with us here at Saxlingham Hall Nursing home.
My father was very happy at Saxlingham where he felt so at home. The staff go above and beyond to create a happy caring environment and nothing was too much trouble. Their ethos of valuing relatives the same as residents was a wonderful refreshing approach and contributed immensely to the exceptional compassionate atmosphere within the home. Everyone, kitchen staff, housekeeping, nursing, carers and management were tremendous, nothing was too much trouble and I cannot thank them enough for taking the best of care of my father who, I know appreciated you all.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review; it really is appreciated. It was an absolute pleasure to look after your father whilst he was here at Saxlingham Hall and support you through this difficult time. We will share your comments with our staff. Thank you very much.
When Mum left the hospital after a stroke and needed residential care, Saxlingham Hall was recommended. From our first contact by telephone, we were impressed by the service we received, so arranged a viewing. On arrival, everyone was helpful and welcoming. The manager took us round the hall's facilities and showed us the rooms available. The standard of hygiene was very high, and there seemed a calming atmosphere which we liked. This was the place for Mum. When Mum arrived after 14 weeks in the hospital, she was very low in mood and had lost her appetite and much weight. The kind and caring staff have managed to reverse this. She’s much brighter in mood, eats better, and her teeth are lovely and clean again. Mum barely spoke when she arrived. Now she is quite chatty and loves to be involved with the activities provided. All staff are kind, friendly and extremely helpful. We are very grateful for the care provided to Mum and for the help/guidance given to us by everyone there.
Thank you for this lovely review. I am so pleased you feel your mother's well-being has improved whilst being here at Saxlingham Hall. I will share this feedback with the staff.
My mother spent two weeks at Saxlingham Hall earlier this year. At 95, it was her first experience of respite care in a residential home. Thrilled with everything, she is looking forward to a return visit in July. The house and gardens are beautiful. The facilities are clean and second to none, and the staff were professional, kind and keen to do all they could to ensure that the varying needs of every resident were met. I cannot recommend Saxlingham Hall highly enough.
Thank you for this wonderful review. We are so pleased your mother had a nice stay with us, and we are looking forward to her returning for a few weeks in July.
The staff were very kind and professional and treated us with so much respect.
Kind regards.
Thank you very much for your kind review, and we are so pleased that you were happy with the care that your mother received whilst she was with us at Saxlingham Hall.
My mother has been in Saxlingham for a considerable time. All the staff both nursing and otherwise are fabulous. I am unable to see Mum regularly, so I am totally reliant on the care that they give. They are always very helpful if I have a concern and the kindness that they show my mum is second to none. The proof of the pudding, as they say, is that Mum is very happy and content at Saxlingham.
Thank you very much for your kind review; it really is appreciated. We are very happy that your mother has settled so well at Saxlingham Hall, and it is a pleasure to look after her.
I cannot praise every member of the staff enough; they dealt with us all with complete care and compassion through a very difficult time.
Without a doubt, I would recommend the Hall.
Thank you for your kind review, and I am pleased that you were happy that you made the right decision for your mother. I will share this review with all our staff, who will be very appreciative of your kind comments.
My wife was discharged from the hospital to palliative care just before Christmas 2022. Regrettably, the palliative care system over a Christmas period was unobtainable over such a public holiday period, and it was down to myself to care for my wife. After this public holiday, it was clearly obvious that I required professional help, and Saxlingham Hall was approached, and my wife was admitted. She settled in very quickly with the help of the lovely staff and management. The management gave me information as to the correct financial procedures, which needed to be put in place, and their guidance was invaluable. My wife remained at Saxlingham until she passed away having been treated with the utmost care and consideration. On our regular visits to see her, we were received with friendliness, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. There is an employee of the month scheme in place, which I felt was applicable to all the staff I had the pleasure of meeting who were very kind to me and my wife.
We are so appreciative of your lovely review for Saxlingham Hall and are very pleased you were happy with the care your wife received whilst she was with us. It was a pleasure to meet all your family and thank you for the kindness shown to our staff. I will share this review with all our staff.
We have very happy that our father was able to stay for two weeks respite following a serious illness. The staff were friendly, kind and caring. The only negative was the lack of in-house physiotherapy and similar available for the cost of life minimal two-week stay. Lovely location and a calm environment. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review, and we are really pleased to hear that you were happy with your father's care whilst he has been here at Saxlingham Hall. He was a pleasure to look after, and we can follow up on your comments about the lack of physiotherapy with our GP.
Even offering myself a hug if needed at such an upsetting time.
Thank you and all the staff who work there.
Thank you very much for your kind review. This is very much appreciated by us all, and I am so pleased you were happy with your mother's care during her final days. I will share your review with all our staff.
From the moment I rang to make an enquiry the staff could not have been more welcoming, kind and compassionate. The care my mother received from all staff (cleaner/kitchen and nursing) was 1st class. As a family, we were made very welcome and made part of the Saxlingham Hall family. I can not thank all the staff enough for the care they gave my mother and how much they supported my father.
We are so appreciative of your lovely review. It was a pleasure to look after your mother and meet such a kind and caring family. I will share your review with all of our staff.
Dad has complex medical needs and is not the easiest person to look after when he has anxious, confused periods, which can last for several days and nights; the staff have always dealt with these in a professional and very caring way.
I believe that Saxlingham has done everything it could possibly do to keep Dad safe and comfortable, which has not been easy.
Dad, his clothes, his room and the Hall, in general, are always very clean.
The staff consulted the family and kept them informed at every stage of Dad's care.
I would highly recommend Saxlingham Hall.
We are so pleased you feel the staff look after dad in a professional and caring way. Thank you for your kind words. I will ensure this is shared with the team here at Saxlingham Hall.

Meet the Team (5)

Saxlingham Hall has a lovely atmosphere, with a truly caring staff team. I believe we enrich the lives of our residents by putting them at the centre of all that we do.

“I started working at Saxlingham Hall in July 2011 and I have been working for Healthcare Homes since March 2020, when Saxlingham Hall joined the group. I have level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care. I also have a level 2 in functional skills. I love working with the team knowing we have delivered good quality care to our residents”

“I think it is important to be caring, patient, positive, sympathetic, encouraging and to listen to people. I love working with a great supportive team and having the chance to practice my new role.”

I started at Saxlingham Hall as an administrator at the start of June 2023 and really enjoy the variety of the role – no day is the same. The home is a lovely place to work in including all of the other staff and the resident. I like that I have the freedom to get to know the residents and their relatives whilst also keeping up to date with all the home’s paperwork. My favourite thing about working here is that everyone is always in a good mood and willing to help each other when needed.

I have worked here for almost 18 years and love being head of Housekeeping. Saxlingham Hall is a lovely place to work, and I really enjoy getting to know the residents and the atmosphere here – especially within the team and how everyone pulls together.
