My mother has been a resident of Saxlingham Hall for over 12 months. I have been most impressed with the care and kindness of all the staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Saxlingham Hall to anyone needing nursing care.
We are so pleased you feel Mum receives care and kindness from all staff. We are glad to hear you would recommend us to others in need of nursing care. Thank you for your kind review.
We are delighted with our mother's care at Saxlingham Hall. The staff are very professional, kind and caring, and Mum is happy, which is so important. She enjoys the food and the countryside views from her rooms, which remind her of home.
Thank you for your lovely review; we are glad mum is happy with her stay here at Saxlingham Hall.
I visited many care/nursing homes; however, the moment I stepped inside Saxlingham and was shown around, I knew I had found the one.
The swift response from the nursing home meant Mum was in within a matter of days. It took a while for her to settle, but the wonderful staff made her feel at home.
Moving forward a few months, Mum has put on weight and is very settled. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, attention and dedication.
I have to travel a distance to see my mum, there were more local options, but in my mind, there was no option. Saxlingham is perfect. Thank you.
We are so very pleased to hear that you feel mum is in the right place and is now settled. Thank you for your kind review.
My mother moved to Saxlingham Hall after a period in the hospital and another care home following a fall. She had become very frail, and the experience had affected her spirit and well-being - she was also recovering from delirium brought on by her pneumonia and possibly the drugs necessary to treat it. At first, she was reluctant to feel that she could not go back home, but the care and support she received from all the staff at the Hall really revived her spirits, and she came to love her room with the view of the garden and the activities that she could participate in. Within a few days, you could see the return of her interest and engagement in life, her sense of humour and fun, her appetite revived, and her mental health improved no-end. Sadly she was only a resident for six months before she died, but by now considered Saxlingham Hall to be her home. I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone the excellent care and support that everyone, whatever their role at the Hall, gave to my mother in her final months.
Thank you for your very kind review. Your mother was a joy to look after, and we all miss her positive outlook, sense of humour and wonderful artwork. We very much appreciate your feedback.
My cousin was not able to walk more than a few steps when she arrived and had to travel in a wheelchair taxi. When I picked her up two weeks later, she was able to walk with her frame unaided and got into a car without any trouble. The physical and mental change in her was marked, and she was on the road to being back to her normal self.
My only concern was that my cousin was not happy with the way she was spoken to on a couple of occasions by one member of staff, but on the whole, her experience was good.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. It always enables us to improve our practice within the home. Following an investigation into the concern you raised about how staff spoke to your cousin, I would like to apologise and assure you that the staff member in question is no longer at...
My mother was extremely poorly when she first when to Saxlingham Hall, and we thought, at death's door. She has perked up no end and is now comfortable and happy. The staff are wonderful, patient and caring.
Thank you for your kind words. I will pass this on to our staff.
Everything about the home is wonderful. It is outstanding.
It is very well and efficiently managed and administered.
All the staff have been marvellous, from the registered nurses to the cleaners.
Everyone is friendly, cheerful and helpful. The care and management are always professional but carried out with ‘heart’.
Towards the end, I was visiting twice a day, and the staff were very attentive to my needs too.
My partner was beautifully cared for in every way, and he was always sweet and clean, and the room likewise.
I cannot recommend Saxlingham Hall highly enough.
Thank you for your very kind words, I will ensure they are passed onto all of our staff.
Mum arrived here from the hospital during Covid lockdown, after suffering a severe stroke, which left her with major disability and vision impairment. She then lost her husband, our Dad, the very next day. Staff were so supportive, spending time with Mum and attending to her specific needs at such a difficult time: for example, sitting with her while she watched a live-streaming of the funeral.
Although it has been difficult with limited visiting, staff have gone the extra mile to facilitate particular family visits involving long-distance travel. Indoors is always clean and tidy, the food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s comforting to know that Mum is in good hands. Thank you!
Thank you for your very kind words; I will ensure these are passed onto all of our staff.
My mother was placed at Saxlingham Nursing Home in July 2020. This was during all the COVID-19 restrictions. The staff were always very helpful in arranging and facilitating zoom calls with my mother when visits were unable to take place. My mother always appeared to be settled and enjoying her food and the one to one activities sone with her. Sadly she passed away in March, the end of life care she was given at Saxlingham Hall was excellent and such comfort to the family at this difficult time.
Thank you for your kind words; I will pass these on to our staff.
Saxlingham is in a lovely setting and is a very nice property. The rooms were maintained to a high standard and very clean; nice, bright communal areas. The staff were very helpful, friendly and pleasant.
Thank you for your lovely review; I will pass this on to our staff.
The care, support and kindness my mother received could not have been better. Even in the most difficult of time, staff were always cheerful, attentive and caring. When we were unable to visit due to the virus, the family were able to rest easy knowing Mother could not be in better hands.
Thank you for your very kind words, which I will pass on to our staff.
Lovely building and gardens. Very peaceful. Kind, caring staff who all try to make the most of my mother’s limited lifestyle. Reliably good food with plenty of choices with a glass of wine or sherry. My mother has been at the home for nearly six years, and there really is nothing negative to mention.
Thank you for your kind words, which I will pass on to our staff.
My Godmother was a resident of Saxlingham Hall from August 2019 until September 2020 and was extremely well cared for and looked after by all of the staff throughout. We spent a great deal of time selecting Saxlingham Hall in the hope that it was the best place for her and were never disappointed. Management and staff were always very kind and efficient when dealing with my Godmother's needs and accommodating her requirements. I live some distance away and was always able to speak to someone knowledgeable about my relative's health. Additionally, Saxlingham is a lovely building with wonderful gardens which helps make it an ideal setting for a Nursing Home. Thanks to all at Saxlingham Hall who collectively do a great job.
Thank you so much for your kind words; I will ensure they are passed on to all staff.
My mother has been a resident at Saxlingham Hall Nursing Home since early 2019. We have been very impressed with the care she has received. She is very old (101) and often confused but she said to me when I visited her two days ago "It's pretty good, this place" and "they are very nice to me here". The carers are terrific with her and have made great efforts to entertain her, particularly during the difficult pandemic period.
Thank you so much for your kind words, which I will pass on to all of our staff.
I have not seen my mum since the beginning of March this year, however, I have been very impressed with the way that the home has dealt with Lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions since Lockdown in March. I really do feel my mum is safe. The staff have been excellent in providing a face time service so that I can see and speak to mum when I want. The staff always tell me how mum is as she is unable to do this herself.
Thank you for your kind words, we understand how difficult recent times have been for our residents and their families. We will continue to work hard to provide opportunities for residents to keep in touch with their nearest and dearest.
My father passed away on 11 April 2020. The last year of his life he spent at Saxlingham Hall after suffering a stroke. The care he received was extraordinary. The staff were friendly, helpful and good-humoured. I was unable to visit him at the end because of the lockdown, but everything humanly possible was done to ease his passing and the nurses sitting with him kept the telephone line open so that I was able to talk to him almost to his last breath. In effect, they were guardian angels and they have my heartfelt gratitude and respect.
Thank you for your very kind words, which will be passed on to all of our staff.
My mother lived at Saxlingham Hall for over three years, and during this time, she received good quality care from the patient, caring staff who came to know her well and how to manage her conditions. The nursing staff have kept our family informed and involved in care decisions, and we were made to feel welcome during visits. Mother particularly enjoyed the beautiful garden surroundings and excellent food.
Thank you for your kind review, which we will pass onto all staff.
We have found Saxlingham Hall to have given Mum 100% care and attention since her arrival. It is always bright and clean, and the staff are brilliant, so kind and caring. The meals are excellent, and Mum is given whatever she fancies. In previous years, a wonderful garden party has been held, and it is such a shame that Covid has intervened this year to stop it happening. It is wonderful to be able to visit Mum most times of the day, although at present because of Covid, we haven't visited as a family as Mum has dementia and would not recognise us behind our masks. However, it has been made possible for visits via Facetime. I would highly recommend Saxlingham for anyone looking for a home from home together with a wonderful end of life care.
Thank you for your kind review, which we pass onto all of our staff.
The staff go over and above expectations to ensure that any special requests are dealt with in a pleasant and efficient manner. I have always received responses by email or by phone to any queries I might have both quickly and in a caring manner, and as a “senior” myself, it is reassuring to know that my mother is safe and professionally cared on a 24/7 basis.
Thank you for your review, our team of staff appreciate your kind words.
Always extremely satisfied with the care given to my friend. The staff are all helpful and pleasant.
Thank you very much for your kind words and taking the time to write a review for us. We will be very happy to publish this and share with the team.

Meet the Team (5)

Saxlingham Hall has a lovely atmosphere, with a truly caring staff team. I believe we enrich the lives of our residents by putting them at the centre of all that we do.

“I started working at Saxlingham Hall in July 2011 and I have been working for Healthcare Homes since March 2020, when Saxlingham Hall joined the group. I have level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care. I also have a level 2 in functional skills. I love working with the team knowing we have delivered good quality care to our residents”

“I think it is important to be caring, patient, positive, sympathetic, encouraging and to listen to people. I love working with a great supportive team and having the chance to practice my new role.”

I started at Saxlingham Hall as an administrator at the start of June 2023 and really enjoy the variety of the role – no day is the same. The home is a lovely place to work in including all of the other staff and the resident. I like that I have the freedom to get to know the residents and their relatives whilst also keeping up to date with all the home’s paperwork. My favourite thing about working here is that everyone is always in a good mood and willing to help each other when needed.

I have worked here for almost 18 years and love being head of Housekeeping. Saxlingham Hall is a lovely place to work, and I really enjoy getting to know the residents and the atmosphere here – especially within the team and how everyone pulls together.
