From the moment my mum was welcomed to the manor we have been so impressed by management and all staff. The level of care, compassion and everything else that goes to looking after someone with dementia and all her problems has been outstanding.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words. We adore your Mum and so pleased you are happy with her being here.
My mum has been at The Manor House for six months now and I can not fault the amazing team of staff or anything about the home. Mum is a changed person under their wonderful care she is smiling, happy and making friends. Her quality of life has improved so much The Manor has given us our mum back and we will be eternally grateful. The environment of the home creates a home from home and the staffs happy and bright characters whilst caring so deeply enhances everything. Mums physical and mental health has improved, the food is wonderful with constant drinks and snacks. The activity programme is exceptional; all staff are simply wonderful.
What a lovely review, thank you very much for your kind words.
We moved our mum into the Manor House initially for 4 weeks respite as we were concerned about how safe she should be at home while were were away on holiday. From my initial phone contact to a visit to moving mum into now permanent care, we cannot rate the care of all the staff any higher. Although the building is old and in need of TLC, this really goes unnoticed against the love and support, all the staff show. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review, it is a pleasure to have Mum here with us and so glad she has settled in.
The staff are all so kind and caring, looking after her needs and her total wellbeing.
I admire everybody involved in the smooth running of the home, I think this is a very hard task with so many residents having different complex needs.
I have always found the staff very friendly, considerate and taking pride in their work and making visitors feel very welcome.
On Sunday Mum celebrated her 100th Birthday, words cannot express our families appreciation of how nicely the staff prepared the Lounge and provided a lovely "Afternoon Tea" for our small celebration, also repeatedly checking everything was ok for us.
This preparation was delivered over and above the staff still having to care for all the other residents with not a hint of it being additional work for them.
My praise goes to all the staff that deliver the care needed to keep the residents comfortable and safe. Thank you.
It is a pleasure to have Mum with us, and we were thrilled she wanted to be here to celebrate her special birthday with us.
I am grateful that there was a place for my mother at Manor House. I had visited other homes + knew they did not have the management + atmosphere that would make mum comfortable. Unlike the other homes, I was greeted by the manager, shown a lovely room + introduced to staff who seemed cheerful + motivated. Mum lived there for 2 years and had compassionate care, activities + good food. I was worried that she might not settle, but on the second day she was enjoying having an Elvis impersonator singing to her. Her end of life was peaceful + comfortable + we will be having tea at the home after the service.
Thank you so much for your review. We loved having Mum here, she was a absolute joy. We miss her very much.
Have always found the staff very polite and caring, they are all so friendly. The home is always warm in the winter and nice and airy in the summer. Very nice surroundings, i.e. gardens and wild life.
Thank you for your kind review, I will share with the team.
The manor has some excellent caring staff, from the excellent cheerful members, and the very quiet gentleman who is a gem, kind, always has a smile, and a kind word for dad. Dad is very appreciative of this. The management listens and acts when we have concerns. Our main worry is the agency night staff who, Dad says, handle him roughly and do not show respect like they should. The outside of the manor is in dire need of repair and maintenance.
Thank you for taking time to complete a review card and for your kind comments. Next time you are visiting Dad please feel free to have a chat with me about your concerns.
I cannot say enough good things about the Manor House Care Home. A very fear life long family friend became a resident following a stroke and was unable to take care of herself. She has been a resident for approximately 1 1/2 years. The staff are all so kind and caring, looking after her needs and her total wellbeing. Everybody who is involved in the smooth running of the home is friendly, considerate and takes pride in their work and makes visitors feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody looking for residential care for a loved one.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review.
I can't speak highly enough of this care home. From the moment I first visited, I was struck by how clean, fresh, and welcoming the entire place feels. There's never that "institutional" smell - just a lovely, homely atmosphere.
The countryside setting is peaceful and beautiful, with well-maintained gardens residents enjoy spending time in. They've made sure the outdoor areas are easily accessible, and the windows are always open to allow some fresh air in and to see the abundance of nature passing by.
There's always something going on - from music sessions to arts and crafts, quizzes, and gentle exercise classes. The activities team really go the extra mile to keep the residents engaged and entertained.
Most importantly, the level of care he receives is outstanding. The staff are genuinely kind, patient, and attentive - they treat him with dignity and compassion, and they always keep me in the loop. I feel completely confident that he is safe, respected, and well looked after.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review, this means a lot to all the staff.
Many thanks for all your service to my mother over the last 3-and-a-half years. She was very well looked after and had a good end to her life in such a happy atmosphere, your attention to detail and care was beyond our expectations!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a true pleasure having Mum with us and we miss her very much.
Mother became a resident of The Manor Care Home in March 2021. We were just coming out of COVID and things were a little strained due to staffing level. Things improved and we were more than happy with all the care our Mum was receiving. Mum always said the food was very good and the staff were very attentive. Our Mum was 105 when she passed away.
Thank you for your review. We miss your gentle mother a great deal.
His end-of-life care was gentle, skilful and loving and we are very grateful for his very peaceful passing.
Thank you for your review. We certainly miss your dear Husband and also seeing you regularly.
Their caring approach enabled him to settle and relax during his last few months. He certainly enjoyed being able to sit outside in the sunshine and look at the wildlife and woodland. Thank you to you all.
Thank you for your kind reply, I will always remember your relative sitting outside my office window, enjoying the garden and the wildlife.
The care, support and companionship offered made his last months so comfortable. Would recommend to others!
Thank you for your lovely review and kind comments.
I would highly recommend The Manor House and the staff from cleaners to carers to management. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your kind review. We miss your uncle so much, he was certainly Lord of the Manor.
The staff were very caring, at the end their care was amazing, dedicated and loving towards my mum. They not only cared for my mum in the last 2 weeks when I was with her, they had so much love to give me. I couldn't have wished her long life to have been any better than being surrounded by the staff at The Manor House. Thank you never seems enough.
It was a pleasure to care for a local Swanton Lady, respected and missed by all.
My aunt stayed at The Manor House for nearly a year. During this time I consider that she was well cared for by professional and caring staff who went above and beyond to ensure her comfort, safety and wellbeing. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.
Thank you for your review. We all miss your Aunt very much.
Like many elderly people, I dreaded the thought of 'going into a home' so I was encouraged at how quickly and happily I settled in at The Manor House. If it is no longer possible to remain at home this is a lovely place in which to spend one's last years.
What a beautiful review and such lovely words. I am so pleased you are happy here and it's a joy to have you part of the Manor House family.
It is a wonderful building with a lovely garden and surroundings with deer, birds, and squirrels to watch.
The food has varied in quality.
I have had a problem with the heating in my room and I don't like using the commode downstairs.
The staff have been very good to me.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read you felt lonely in these beautiful surroundings, it is something that most residents and visitors enjoy. Your heating issue was resolved with a 2nd heater being put in your room. I'm pleased you felt the staff were very good to you.
The Manor House Care Home is a lovely and caring place to end your days. It is set in beautiful surroundings, peaceful and inviting. The staff are very kind and caring, the food is lovely, everybody seems happy to work there and it shows in how they go about their caring roles. I am very happy to have had the experience first-hand of the lovely way they have looked after my husband. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your very kind review. It was a privilege to have your husband with us, we miss the music coming from his room.

“The overall environment in the home is marvellous – it’s perfect for people who have lived in North Norfolk their whole lives, offering a rural setting. There is a real sense of happiness at the home and great team spirit!”

I have worked at The Manor House for more than 25 years and there is a family feel here which extends to the residents and staff. We fully support the team and work closely together to help each other. It's a nice place to work with lovely surroundings. Paula, the manager, always makes a point of thanking the staff every day so they do feel appreciated.

I have worked at the home for 6 years, working one day a week as a Care Assistant. After almost 24 years working as a Senior Medical Secretary, I have joined the home as Administrator. Already having the knowledge of the home has been a huge advantage in starting my role as Administrator. I have a close working relationship with the Home Manager.

“My favourite part of my day is talking to the residents and making sure they are happy with the menu and offering them lots of choices. I love getting positive feedback from the residents and staff. My recent promotion to head chef took me out of my comfort zone but I have supportive colleagues who I can get advice, support and help from.”

John plays a vital role at the home making sure everyone is safe. A number audits, inspections and reports need to be completed daily, weekly, monthly. John is a well respected member of the team.

I am medication trained, and I take pride in being a loyal member of my team. I have an excellent rapport with all of the residents, and I work hard to maintain that relationship. I am grateful to be a well-respected member of the team, and I strive to continue earning that respect every day.

I have been working at the home for over 20 years, and I am the most dedicated and loyal member of the team. I love my job because I get to make a difference every day. I am respected by all my colleagues.

With over 35 years of experience, I hold NVQ Health and Social Care levels 2 and 3, plus Safe Handling of Medication level 2. I feel privileged to look after our residents, making them laugh and feel well cared for. We strive to make them feel at home.

I am responsible for the night care of our residents. I lead a small, loyal night team and supervise their work. I am responsible for writing all the nighttime care plans and monitoring the records in terms of daily fluid intake.

Being an activities coordinator is a fantastic role. I love art and crafts, music and nature. So, arranging and delivering a variety of activities to our residents, seeing the smiles and enjoyment it brings and their achievements in taking part, gives me a great sense of satisfaction.

I enjoy keeping the home clean, tidy, and organised because it's such a beautiful place. I enrich residents' lives with my laughter and singing.
