Sadly my friend recently passed after almost 6 years at The Manor House. Her last days were dealt with care and dignity. She was kept comfortable and monitored with great respect. I was updated at regular intervals. Knowing my friend was cared for so compassionately gave me great comfort. I can't thank them enough.
Thank you so much for your very kind review. It was a privilege to look after your friend and she is sadly missed.
Over a period of time, our mum had 3 separate stays at The Manor House. She was always pleased and grateful for the care and attention afforded to her on every occasion. It was at her request that we booked her into The Manor House in 2023. During her short stay there she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all members of staff, irrespective of their role. Similarly, our family were always greeted warmly whenever we visited and made to 'feel at home'. During her final days, the staff did everything possible to ensure that she was as comfortable as possible and all that could be done was done.
Thank you for your review. It was always a pleasure and privilege to have your Mum stay with us.
As his condition deteriorated and care needs increased, the skill and expertise of the staff came to the fore; he was cared for skillfully and compassionately throughout.
In summary, my dad was surrounded by kindness at The Manor House.
He died peacefully with staff at his side, and we are so grateful.
Thank you so much for your review. As a member of staff said to me recently, your father was a true gentleman and a pleasure to care for.
My mother was a resident for over 5 years and I was always impressed with the quality and dedication of the care staff, especially as her health deteriorated in the later years. It was reassuring to see the same members of staff all the time, rather than a succession of different people. They also coped with Covid, and the regulations imposed, in a professional yet sympathetic manner. The property has a lot of character and is set in woodland, which helps create a peaceful atmosphere, and the gardens are pleasant to sit and walk in.
Overall management is excellent however the administration is not at that standard at present.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the Manor House.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to have your mother with us and she will be missed by all.
Mum spent just over 2 years at the home, but we sadly lost her recently. All of the staff have been very kind, helpful and caring. Mum was very happy and comfortable, we always clean, tidy and well cared for. Whenever Mum became unwell or her needs changed the staff could not do enough for her and was always provided the care she needed. The home is welcoming, comfortable and the staff are happy and helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for your very kind review. We are grateful for your lovely feedback.
Apart from the blip which was corrected, the home has always done its best for my mum. In the last days, they were amazing. I know the difficult work the girls have to deal with and I take my hat off to them and their manager.
Thank you for your kind review. We miss your mum and also receiving the daily call from you.
Couldn't fault the staff or management. Well done to everyone in the home and for the care Mum received. We felt that the rooms needed updating and the windows required attention, especially on the outside. However, the home is in a beautiful location, one of the best. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review. Your mum soon settled into the home and was a joy to have here.
My mother spent four years at The Manor House Care Home. She was always well cared for by cheerful and supportive staff. The Covid pandemic was well managed.
Thank you for your kind review, your mother is very much missed by all.
My mother was at The Manor House Care Home for over four years and could not have had better care across this time. The setting of The Manor House Care Home is very tranquil and this is reflected in the calm atmosphere of the home. As regular visitors, we got to know many of the people there extremely well and greatly appreciated what they did in caring for our mother. None more so at the end of our mother's life when their professionalism and humanity made my mother's passing as dignified and bearable as possible.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to care for your mother. She is sadly missed by all.
The management and staff are very caring and professional with nothing too much trouble to make her time there pleasant and comfortable. As a family, we know that after visiting her that she is in a safe, warm and happy place nd somewhere she now calls her home.
Thank you for your review. Your Mum is such a pleasure to have at the home.
Before she passed away, my mother had been in The Manor for about four months. She was cared for extremely well in a comfortable, cosy room. She looked forward to her food, which was of high quality. Everyone I met in the home was friendly and approachable and put you at ease. I felt Mum was treated with great care and dignity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home to others.
Thank you for your kind words and review. It was a pleasure to care for your mother; she is missed by all.
My husband has been a resident in The Manor House Care Home since May 2022. His health has deteriorated recently having Covid, then being admitted to hospital with pneumonia. Now back at The Manor in a frailer state. He has been looked after with excellent care.
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased to have your husband back with us and for us to see you as well.
Keep the home very clean.
All in all, a very lovely place to end my days.
Thank you for your lovely review - you are a complete joy to have in the home.
The staff are very friendly, hard-working and very kind. My husband's room is always clean and tidy and I feel I can always rely on them to look after him well and be really kind to him. Thanks to everyone.
Thank you for your review, it's a pleasure to care for your husband.
The staff seem to have a good rapport with our Mum and keep her legs moisturised beautifully (this is to prevent infection). She is encouraged to join in activities but is not forced to if she resists. We attended the afternoon garden party, organised by the staff and were very impressed.
Thank you for coming to our afternoon tea party, I am glad you enjoyed the event.
Our dad entered Manor House at the beginning of Covid. High Tea at The Manor was the first family event that he has attended and he thoroughly enjoyed it and so did we. An accomplished singer sang lots of songs appropriate to residents and family. All residents were well looked after, especially those who did not have family there. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Thanks to everyone for their hard work, especially the organiser.
Thank you for your comments. We all had a fabulous afternoon and it was amazing to see everyone enjoying themselves. Great team effort.
My mum was a resident in The Manor House for over two years. She was treated with kindness and respect at all times. She loved Tuesdays when she would be given a bath full to the top with bubbles and in the afternoon, she would have her hair done by the hairdresser. The grounds at The Manor House are amazing. Sometimes she would be taken around them in her chair for a stroll. The staff are friendly and would always be popping into her room for a chat and make sure she was alright. Sadly, my mum passed away in August this year, at the home, aged 99. The staff could not have done more for her or treated her any kinder. I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff that work there.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We all miss your mum and seeing all her family.
Outstanding and excellent are the first words that come to mind when talking of the Manor, not only the home itself but more importantly the staff, they are friendly, caring, supportive and their care is dignified and respectful. Mum thought so much of the staff that looked after her on a daily basis and when we visited, they always had time for us and were always friendly and cheerful even though, I am sure they were under pressure, at times. Mum passed away having been at the Manor for just over two years. None of us like to think of our loved ones going into care but when their needs become more than we can give, we have to do what is best for them. I am sure Mum had that extra time through all the care given by the staff at the Manor. Thank you all.
Thank you for your very kind review. We miss you all. Please visit when the rules allow, I know other residents would love to see you.
The Manor House gave Mum all the care she needed with caring staff in all departments. Thank you all.
Thank you for your review. We miss your dear Mum terribly.
My mum-in-law was transferred from the hospital to the Manor House Care Home to be assessed. It was uncertain if she would return home, but the wonderful care she got in the care home was outstanding and she put on weight. The swelling in her legs went down. We, unfortunately, couldn't visit due to COVID but spoke regularly. She seemed very happy although wanted to return to her home. She missed family. The staff we did see were lovely. It's a lovely care home. As unable to go to the care home had to provide an informal opinion.
Thank you for your review. We all miss Mum but pleased she is back home where she wanted to be.

“The overall environment in the home is marvellous – it’s perfect for people who have lived in North Norfolk their whole lives, offering a rural setting. There is a real sense of happiness at the home and great team spirit!”

I have worked at The Manor House for more than 25 years and there is a family feel here which extends to the residents and staff. We fully support the team and work closely together to help each other. It's a nice place to work with lovely surroundings. Paula, the manager, always makes a point of thanking the staff every day so they do feel appreciated.

I have worked at the home for 6 years, working one day a week as a Care Assistant. After almost 24 years working as a Senior Medical Secretary, I have joined the home as Administrator. Already having the knowledge of the home has been a huge advantage in starting my role as Administrator. I have a close working relationship with the Home Manager.

“My favourite part of my day is talking to the residents and making sure they are happy with the menu and offering them lots of choices. I love getting positive feedback from the residents and staff. My recent promotion to head chef took me out of my comfort zone but I have supportive colleagues who I can get advice, support and help from.”

John plays a vital role at the home making sure everyone is safe. A number audits, inspections and reports need to be completed daily, weekly, monthly. John is a well respected member of the team.

I am medication trained, and I take pride in being a loyal member of my team. I have an excellent rapport with all of the residents, and I work hard to maintain that relationship. I am grateful to be a well-respected member of the team, and I strive to continue earning that respect every day.

I have been working at the home for over 20 years, and I am the most dedicated and loyal member of the team. I love my job because I get to make a difference every day. I am respected by all my colleagues.

With over 35 years of experience, I hold NVQ Health and Social Care levels 2 and 3, plus Safe Handling of Medication level 2. I feel privileged to look after our residents, making them laugh and feel well cared for. We strive to make them feel at home.

I am responsible for the night care of our residents. I lead a small, loyal night team and supervise their work. I am responsible for writing all the nighttime care plans and monitoring the records in terms of daily fluid intake.

Being an activities coordinator is a fantastic role. I love art and crafts, music and nature. So, arranging and delivering a variety of activities to our residents, seeing the smiles and enjoyment it brings and their achievements in taking part, gives me a great sense of satisfaction.

I enjoy keeping the home clean, tidy, and organised because it's such a beautiful place. I enrich residents' lives with my laughter and singing.
