View Full Details of The Manor House Care HomeI am grateful that there was a place for my mother at Manor House. I had visited other homes + knew they did not have the management + atmosphere that would make mum comfortable. Unlike the other homes, I was greeted by the manager, shown a lovely room + introduced to staff who seemed cheerful + motivated. Mum lived there for 2 years and had compassionate care, activities + good food. I was worried that she might not settle, but on the second day she was enjoying having an Elvis impersonator singing to her. Her end of life was peaceful + comfortable + we will be having tea at the home after the service.
Have always found the staff very polite and caring, they are all so friendly. The home is always warm in the winter and nice and airy in the summer. Very nice surroundings, i.e. gardens and wild life.
The manor has some excellent caring staff, from the excellent cheerful members, and the very quiet gentleman who is a gem, kind, always has a smile, and a kind word for dad. Dad is very appreciative of this. The management listens and acts when we have concerns. Our main worry is the agency night staff who, Dad says, handle him roughly and do not show respect like they should. The outside of the manor is in dire need of repair and maintenance.
I cannot say enough good things about the Manor House Care Home. A very fear life long family friend became a resident following a stroke and was unable to take care of herself. She has been a resident for approximately 1 1/2 years. The staff are all so kind and caring, looking after her needs and her total wellbeing. Everybody who is involved in the smooth running of the home is friendly, considerate and takes pride in their work and makes visitors feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody looking for residential care for a loved one.
I can't speak highly enough of this care home. From the moment I first visited, I was struck by how clean, fresh, and welcoming the entire place feels. There's never that "institutional" smell - just a lovely, homely atmosphere. The countryside setting is peaceful and beautiful, with well-maintained gardens residents enjoy spending time in. They've made sure the outdoor areas are easily accessible, and the windows are always open to allow some fresh air in and to see the abundance of nature passing by. There's always something going on - from music sessions to arts and crafts, quizzes, and gentle exercise classes. The activities team really go the extra mile to keep the residents engaged and entertained. Most importantly, the level of care he receives is outstanding. The staff are genuinely kind, patient, and attentive - they treat him with dignity and compassion, and they always keep me in the loop. I feel completely confident that he is safe, respected, and well looked after.
Many thanks for all your service to my mother over the last 3-and-a-half years. She was very well looked after and had a good end to her life in such a happy atmosphere, your attention to detail and care was beyond our expectations!
Mother became a resident of The Manor Care Home in March 2021. We were just coming out of COVID and things were a little strained due to staffing level. Things improved and we were more than happy with all the care our Mum was receiving. Mum always said the food was very good and the staff were very attentive. Our Mum was 105 when she passed away.
My husband was a resident for the last 16 months of his life. The management, seniors, carers, activities, kitchen and laundry staff were friendly and caring. As his needs became more complex at times (not often) there appeared to be insufficient staff between 12 midday and 2 pm to cover meals, feeding, response to bells and toiletry. Lovely garden. His end-of-life care was gentle, skilful and loving and we are very grateful for his very peaceful passing.
All staff and management were very efficient, approachable and friendly both to my relative and our family. Their caring approach enabled him to settle and relax during his last few months. He certainly enjoyed being able to sit outside in the sunshine and look at the wildlife and woodland. Thank you to you all.
A big thank you to all the staff at The Manor House for their sensitive approach, allowing our relative to settle in so well. The lovely gardens are wonderful for residents to walk or sit and enjoy with family. The care, support and companionship offered made his last months so comfortable. Would recommend to others!
When our Uncle admitted he could no longer live at home (a hoarder). We visited all North Walsham care homes to move my Uncle from Newmarket to be near all his nieces, nephews, and families. From our first visit, it felt like a home that worked for him. I remember a staff member saying 'We work in their home', perfect. The kindness and compassion shown to us as a family and my uncle's home situation have been amazing. Staff soon make a quick bond with him as one of their more able residents. They soon understood his humour and needs, keeping us informed unfortunately his time too at The Manor was cut short as he passed away last week. Again on the day of his stroke, the staff showed both empathy and compassion for my Uncle and us as his family. I would highly recommend The Manor House and the staff from cleaners to carers to management. Thank you so much.
The staff were very caring, at the end their care was amazing, dedicated and loving towards my mum. They not only cared for my mum in the last 2 weeks when I was with her, they had so much love to give me. I couldn't have wished her long life to have been any better than being surrounded by the staff at The Manor House. Thank you never seems enough.
My aunt stayed at The Manor House for nearly a year. During this time I consider that she was well cared for by professional and caring staff who went above and beyond to ensure her comfort, safety and wellbeing. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone.
Like many elderly people, I dreaded the thought of 'going into a home' so I was encouraged at how quickly and happily I settled in at The Manor House. If it is no longer possible to remain at home this is a lovely place in which to spend one's last years.
I have found that the isolation of the Manor House off the beaten track has meant that I have felt lonely. It is a wonderful building with a lovely garden and surroundings with deer, birds, and squirrels to watch. The food has varied in quality. I have had a problem with the heating in my room and I don't like using the commode downstairs. The staff have been very good to me.
The Manor House Care Home is a lovely and caring place to end your days. It is set in beautiful surroundings, peaceful and inviting. The staff are very kind and caring, the food is lovely, everybody seems happy to work there and it shows in how they go about their caring roles. I am very happy to have had the experience first-hand of the lovely way they have looked after my husband. Thank you so much.
Sadly my friend recently passed after almost 6 years at The Manor House. Her last days were dealt with care and dignity. She was kept comfortable and monitored with great respect. I was updated at regular intervals. Knowing my friend was cared for so compassionately gave me great comfort. I can't thank them enough.
Over a period of time, our mum had 3 separate stays at The Manor House. She was always pleased and grateful for the care and attention afforded to her on every occasion. It was at her request that we booked her into The Manor House in 2023. During her short stay there she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all members of staff, irrespective of their role. Similarly, our family were always greeted warmly whenever we visited and made to 'feel at home'. During her final days, the staff did everything possible to ensure that she was as comfortable as possible and all that could be done was done.
Staff were very friendly and approachable on day one, and continued to be equally kind and responsive throughout his stay. As his condition deteriorated and care needs increased, the skill and expertise of the staff came to the fore; he was cared for skillfully and compassionately throughout. In summary, my dad was surrounded by kindness at The Manor House. He died peacefully with staff at his side, and we are so grateful.
My mother was a resident for over 5 years and I was always impressed with the quality and dedication of the care staff, especially as her health deteriorated in the later years. It was reassuring to see the same members of staff all the time, rather than a succession of different people. They also coped with Covid, and the regulations imposed, in a professional yet sympathetic manner. The property has a lot of character and is set in woodland, which helps create a peaceful atmosphere, and the gardens are pleasant to sit and walk in. Overall management is excellent however the administration is not at that standard at present. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Manor House.
