Thank you so much for your review. We have seen a vast improvement in your husband's condition since his admission. He will remain prone to infections, and of course, you will need to be updated at all times about his condition. He will have the odd day in bed as he has requested. I will ensure staff ask how you are during your visits so you get the support you require. I am saddened to read you do not feel you are given enough information, as we have had many chats together since your husband arrived at Walcot Hall. Please continue to pop into the manager's office as many times as you require; we are here to support the family as well as the residents. It's nice to know you are happy with many of the other areas of care. My door is always open, my team and I will be happy to support you anyway we can. We are happy to receive reviews as these help us to focus on areas of care to make improvements. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback DD, as advised in one of your previous reviews, we are fully established, staff try hard to respond as quickly as they can when any resident call for assistance - all calls are monitored for time response, every call every day. A daily report in generated any delay over 10 minutes is discussed daily in our 11 O'clock meetings, we can plan our care better everyday to help meet everyone's needs in a timely manner. Drink rounds are undertaken by our kitchen team, and at no point of any day has any drink round been missed. Standards can always be improved and we strive to do this by ensuring a continuous cycle of learning from incidents, compliments and complaints. My door is always open, please don't hesitate to come and see me if you have any issues of concern so that I may deal with them in real time. Kind Regards Connie

Thank you so much for your feedback, this is always so very helpful, to enable the team to improve on our current standards of practice. To reassure you, we have a full establishment of staff at Walcot Hall, but understand completely when you are needing support and having to wait for staff to arrive, I will share your comments with my teams and hope this improves going forwards. With regards to the toiletries, this is standard practice amongst all care home providers due to the variation in specific and personal requirements and choices, however, we do have a minimum stock on site if you do need any item, so please do come and ask - all at a very good rate. We provide permanent and respite accommodation for individuals with residential, nursing and respite care needs. Our services include complete en-suite and basin with WC en-suite rooms. Additionally, we offer privately funded, local authority, and NHS-funded placements.

I often go on walks with my springer spaniel, Herbie, and find great joy in my garden and being outdoors when I'm not at work.
I've worked in Walcot Hall for about 13 years now, and I must say it's a lovely home with a very friendly staff team. It's a wonderful place to work, with beautiful views. I have a real passion for cooking, and I always make sure that the meals I prepare are of the highest standard and quality. I'm proud to say that I've completed all of my training in food and hygiene, and my kitchen has a 5-star rating.
I’ve worked in care for over 12 years, starting in nursing homes straight after school, completing my Nursing Degree, and working as a district nurse before joining Walcot Hall. What I enjoy most here is the friendly, fun environment we create for our residents. I want Walcot Hall to feel like a true home, from the laughter and happiness to the compassionate, person-centred care we provide every day. Nothing is ever too much trouble when it comes to enriching our residents’ lives.
