Barking Hall Nursing Home

The carers were gentle, professional, and treated him like family. They took the time to get to know him, honoured his wishes, and made sure he was comfortable and never alone. For us as a family, their patience,communication and kindness meant the world. They gave us space to be with him, supported us every step of the way, and guided us through it all with quiet compassion. Nothing was ever too much trouble. When we were there at mealtimes they even offered us food and drinks. It's incredibly hard to single anyone out because every member of staff is lovely and caring, but a special mention must go to Liam. The way he interacted with Geoff and always brought a smile to his face will forever be a happy memory for us.Barking Hall also put all the preparations in place so they could welcome him with oxygen, and we never once felt like an inconvenience. I cannot express how much care was taken of my late mum, she was so happy here, the time, & patience that they took with her, was so caring. Im so pleased we managed to get a place for her.

The cleanliness & friendliest of staff I have ever met, the nurses are second to none. Every member of staff welcomed you with a smile & a friendly hello everytime. The food is good quality home cooked food, presented to the residents either in their room or a beautiful dining room. There are activities for the residence to enjoy everyday my mum has been treated with the itmost respect & dignity I could ever wish for. I can confidently recommend Barking Hall to anyone who needs their loved one, looking after & cared for. x

My father recently passed away at Barking and the staff have looked after him exceptionally well. He was very happy here even though he had been in the care system for nearly ten years. I and the rest of my family cannot thank Anna and all her wonderful staff enough for all they have done for my dad. I have honestly never seen such a well run nursing home. Barking Hall should be used as a benchmark for all care homes.

Nothing is ever to much trouble for any of the staff who go out of their way to ensure the health and happyness of all residents.

The home itself would benefit from decorating and a porch at the entrance door for when it rains nut that aside it's the care we're intersted in and it is not far off brilliant! The manager is very approachable and goes the extra mile to keep everybody happy, the nurses are amazing, and the carers are the best! Christmas was all about the residents and families , well done Barking hall.

Barking Hall is a lovely, homely, friendly care home that is very comfortable and very clean. The staff really make an effort to be helpdul and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and everything seems to get done with a smile. The care provided appears to be respectful and thoughtfully provided to allow residents to feel a sense of contentment and well being. The rooms are pleasant and not clinical, some are very spacious. The resident cat makes it feel even more like 'home' My friend is very well looked after and I can tell he is feeling content whenever I visit.

I would like to add the staff here are lovely, helpful and very caring.

My father has recently moved to Barking hall, we have found the staff amazing nothing is to much trouble the home is very clean, my father is very happy there, so far I can not fault anything. I would definitely recomend Barking hall to anyone

Dad moved here the 3rd week of June after being in a home for the last 8 years. He is very happy that he moved here. The food, staff, room are so much better than he had at other home. He always looks lovely and clean and gets on well with all the staff. His room is also lovely and clean. We are very pleased that he has moved and how much happier he is.

Barking Hall Nursing Home is such a warm friendly and lovely place that my Dad nows lives in.

The staff all work so well together which is evident.

Considering the absence of a manager (up until recently) the care and administration has been adequate. We are hoping the new manager can implement changes as discussed to improve the areas which are currently satisfactory to good/excellent. Individual carers and nurses, particularly the activity coordinators, are fantastic. Areas of concern which are in the process of being addressed by the new manager include:- Not changing resident's hearing aid batteries, placing food out of resident's reach, not waking resident up for lunch and discouraging movements out of bed.

My father has 5 grandchildren who visited him quite a few times in the 10 months he was a resident whilst my sister and I both visited at least 3 times per week. We all found the staff very helpful and caring. I often said to my father 'are they looking after you?' and he always said that they were. At all times we were treated with respect and we all felt that dad was treated with respect all the time.

Always very welcoming and personable staff and joy to come and visit our friend.

I have found on each visit the staff are very friendly helpful and entertaining. I can leave knowing my friend is happy and well cared for.

Mum has settled into Barking hall extremely well. The nursing staff, especially, are proactive and all of her medical and personal needs are fully met. When there has been cause to raise concern, this has been addressed promptly and pragmatically. Thank you.

A very caring environment with lovely staff who were extremely kind and helpful. They cared for Mum in her last week of life with compassion and were very good to all the family.
