The cleanliness & friendliest of staff I have ever met, the nurses are second to none. Every member of staff welcomed you with a smile & a friendly hello everytime. The food is good quality home cooked food, presented to the residents either in their room or a beautiful dining room. There are activities for the residence to enjoy everyday my mum has been treated with the itmost respect & dignity I could ever wish for. I can confidently recommend Barking Hall to anyone who needs their loved one, looking after & cared for. x

My father recently passed away at Barking and the staff have looked after him exceptionally well. He was very happy here even though he had been in the care system for nearly ten years. I and the rest of my family cannot thank Anna and all her wonderful staff enough for all they have done for my dad. I have honestly never seen such a well run nursing home. Barking Hall should be used as a benchmark for all care homes.

Mum has been resident at barking hall since August 25 following a fall at home where lived alone and totally independent. She is 88 and has a couple of health issues.we looked at 8 care homes prior to barking and for various reasons they were unsuitable, too blingy, too expensive, too shabby, unhappy looking staff, unhappy residents!but when we walked into Barking hall the first thing that struck us was the happiness of the staff! If the staff are happy this rubs off on the residents. My mum is very happy at Barking hall.

The home itself would benefit from decorating and a porch at the entrance door for when it rains nut that aside it's the care we're intersted in and it is not far off brilliant! The manager is very approachable and goes the extra mile to keep everybody happy, the nurses are amazing, and the carers are the best! Christmas was all about the residents and families , well done Barking hall.

Barking Hall is a lovely, homely, friendly care home that is very comfortable and very clean. The staff really make an effort to be helpdul and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and everything seems to get done with a smile. The care provided appears to be respectful and thoughtfully provided to allow residents to feel a sense of contentment and well being. The rooms are pleasant and not clinical, some are very spacious. The resident cat makes it feel even more like 'home' My friend is very well looked after and I can tell he is feeling content whenever I visit.

We're so grateful to have found such a lovely home for our dad who has complex health needs. Barking Hall truly is a home from home with kind, caring staff who genuinely do all that they can to make sure all the residents feel special and are treated with immense kindness and respect. The nurses and carers are superb as are the housekeeping staff and kitchen staff. The food is home cooked and delicious. The whole team is lead by a wonderful manager who really cares, not only for the residents who she treats as her own family members but also their relatives.

I can't praise them highly enough.

Dad moved here the 3rd week of June after being in a home for the last 8 years. He is very happy that he moved here. The food, staff, room are so much better than he had at other home. He always looks lovely and clean and gets on well with all the staff. His room is also lovely and clean. We are very pleased that he has moved and how much happier he is.

Barking Hall Nursing Home is such a warm friendly and lovely place that my Dad nows lives in.

The staff are all so professional, kind patient and caring, not only towards the residents but the same warmth is shown to family members.
Nothing is too much trouble for anyone, we are always offered a drink when the tea trolley comes round, and every member of staff throughout the whole home is wonderful.
It makes me feel at peace knowing that my Dad is so well looked after and is happy.

The staff all work so well together which is evident.

I thank everyone for their continuing first class care.

Considering the absence of a manager (up until recently) the care and administration has been adequate. We are hoping the new manager can implement changes as discussed to improve the areas which are currently satisfactory to good/excellent. Individual carers and nurses, particularly the activity coordinators, are fantastic. Areas of concern which are in the process of being addressed by the new manager include:- Not changing resident's hearing aid batteries, placing food out of resident's reach, not waking resident up for lunch and discouraging movements out of bed.

Reply from The Manager, Home Manager at Barking Hall Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to reach to us. Your feedback helps us improve, and we take your comments seriously. We are currently working on care standard making sure hearing aid batteries, placing food in resident's reach, waking resident up for lunch and encourage movements out of bed is our priority and to ensure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

My father has 5 grandchildren who visited him quite a few times in the 10 months he was a resident whilst my sister and I both visited at least 3 times per week. We all found the staff very helpful and caring. I often said to my father 'are they looking after you?' and he always said that they were. At all times we were treated with respect and we all felt that dad was treated with respect all the time.

In my mother's final month at Barking Hall Nursing Home, I can't given enough praise to the staff. Care beyond words, patience without fail and kindness to an end.
My mother's passing was painless and stress-free because of where she was and who she was with.
During the proceeding months, she had been at ease with herself and her surroundings.
There was a friendship with the staff she had grown close to.

Thank you.
