One or two small niggles but nothing I wont get used to.
The staff, day & night, are very helpful and caring, although one or two can be quite stern in some of their ways.
It's a big transition from home, to hospital to full time residential support, but I am so happy you have settled so well. We definitely can't do stern unless it is when helping you with your exercises, but good to see you get a lot of your independence back and hopefully you will continue to improve with care and support. It's wonderful to see.
The facilities are a little tired but the care he has received has convinced him this is the place he would like to stay and if he is happy then I'm happy!
Thank you for your kind words, we know he has said such lovely things about his care. We are renovating areas of the home, getting new carpets and furniture and have a plan to redecorate rooms when needed, involving the resident's choice. I will pass on your kind words to the team.
Staff are always friendly & supportive. My father is well looked after and happy. He is 92 this year & in a wheelchair.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, and we are so pleased to hear that you are happy with the support and care we provide for your father. We will be sure to pass your kind words onto our Care Team. Thank you, Sarah.
Everyone I come into contact with is always without fail kind and helpful. Mum's room is always clean and tidy. The food is varied wholesome and cooked well. I have complete trust in Foxgrove and never worry about mum. Their care is brilliant and I know they will ring me if I am needed. In my opinion, Foxgrove feels like a 'family' home. This has been created by all the staff, all staff roles, from management, care staff, kitchen staff, cleaners, and maintenance.
My mother has been a resident for nearly 5 years. Despite the national shortage of carers and inevitably high turnover of staff, the home manages to maintain a strong core of sincere, carers. All staff from the kitchen to the carers, activities to the handyman, and the domestics all carry out their duties with the utmost care and respect. Answering the telephone at busy times can be a problem, and I think the laundry, and care of residents clothes needs a little more attention at times. Apart from that, we are very satisfied with the care and attention of the team.
Thank you for your lovely review. We endeavour to constantly improve our service, we now have a designated laundry person 7 days a week. We are hoping this will iron out any of the issues kindly brought to our attention.
Very caring staff. The building is older and very cosy. Food is excellent. The entertainment is wonderful and there is always something going on. Laundry Services could be improved. All residents needs catered for.
Most of the staff are friendly and approachable and all of them provide a good level of care. An answerphone or call diversion facility would be useful for family and friends when telephone calls are not answered.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are looking at various ways to be able to ensure that phone calls are not missed.
All the staff went above and beyond their duties to make my mother as happy and comfortable as possible.
Thank you for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to care for your mum, she was loved by all the staff.
We really cannot express how truly thankful we are for the outstanding care received by mum. You went above and beyond to ensure she had the best quality of life and we will be forever grateful. You made us feel welcome and were responsible to our suggestions. You were professional and so caring. You showed mum such kindness and respect. When things got tough you were always on hand to make me a cuppa and reassured us. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to look after mum and to get to know you all as a family.
My aunt was a resident from July 2022 (following a bad fall at her own home) until she died in December 2023 (aged 94). The care she received from the dedicated and friendly team could not have been better. Staff were fun, kind, patient and genuinely interested in my aunt’s life (which had been pretty full!). They were also very welcoming to visitors. I was particularly impressed by the care in her final week when the staff were so incredibly gentle, kind and respectful. It was obvious they were very fond of her and she them.
Thank you for your lovely review. The staff and residents at Foxgrove were all very fond of your aunt, she was a pleasure to care for. The staff have excellent palliative care skills, it's always nice for those skills to be recognised.
Foxgrove Residential Home sums up what a care home should be. My Mum spent the last 6 months of her life there. Foxgrove's staff treat their residents like family and genuinely care. My mum was so happy there and within 24 hours of living there said it felt like home. There are always activities for the residents to do if they want to, great food and beautiful surroundings. As my mum's health deteriorated and she approached her end of life, she was treated with genuine care and dignity until the end.
We cannot rate Foxgrove highly enough.
Thank you for your lovely review David. It was a pleasure to care for your mum and get to know you as a family.
My mother moved into Foxgrove in September 2023 at the age of 99, finally admitting that she needed more help than was available to her in her own home. She quickly settled in and was soon joining in with the Scrabble, carpet bowls and exercise classes. She was even encouraged to start playing chess, not bad for a now-centenarian. She appreciated being cooked for and had nothing but good to say about the caring staff. When she sadly passed away in May, my family and I knew that she was in the right place, and we were treated with compassion and understanding by those same staff.
Thank you for your lovely review; we are so pleased that Mum felt so at home here at Foxgrove.
Overall, very good care. Staff are very accommodating and able and attentive.
Found no faults at all.
Thank you for your lovely comment, we try very hard to meet all residents needs.
My wife and I receive the best care at all times.
Thank you for your lovely comments, we love having you at our lovely home.
I could not praise the care and staff at Foxgrove enough. From the minute my mother-in-law arrived, they have gone out of their way to really get to know her, her likes, dislikes, interests and family, which really held her to settle into her new home. They are exceptionally kind and go above and beyond what is expected of them and keep us fully informed of her progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending Foxgrovve to anyone and could, in fact, not think of a nice place to call home.
I have had a great time whilst being here, the staff are great and always receptive to the personal needs of residents and always willing to help in any way they can.
Thank you, it has been a pleasure to have you stay in the home.
My daughter's father-in-law passed away at Foxgrove Residential Home and the standard of care and support he was given was outstanding. His needs were always met and the team were so brilliant! I am still in touch with the team as my daughter's father-in-law was there for many years. All I can say is a lovely home, lovely place, lovely team and ever so caring.
Thank you for your lovely review of the home, I will ensure that all the staff are aware.
Since Dad moved to Foxgrove earlier this year, as a family, we have found all the staff from management to care to support staff all very welcoming and caring.
Thank you for your lovely review, it's so nice to hear positive reports with regards to the staff, they all work very hard to ensure residents' needs are met, so it is nice to have this recognised.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms and gardens are kept to a high standard. My mum is always happy when I visit.
Thank you for your lovely review, it's so lovely to see visitors again in our beautiful gardens.

Meet the Team (2)

I’m proud to lead a team that creates a warm, safe and welcoming home. Our staff are local, we work closely together and always go the extra mile for our residents. I’m passionate about supporting people to live their best lives — listening to their individual needs and giving them choice in what they do and how they live each day. I’ve worked in care for many years, hold my Level 5 in Adult Residential Care and Registered Manager’s Award, and I’m currently studying towards my Level 7.

I decided to work at Healthcare Homes as I had been working in domiciliary care locally and wished to continue in care, without the travelling. I applied for a care assistant role at Maynell House, and due to my previous experience in admin, I’d been offered the admin post at both Foxgrove and Maynell! My favourite part of working in a residential home is working with so many different people, residents, family members, staff, and healthcare professionals. Every day is different, and that’s my favourite part.
