After admission to hospital, mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Lewy Bodies Dementia (hallucinations). Foxgrove was found very quickly (10 days) and we were delighted as we live in Felixstowe and I have been caring for her 24/7 for over 3 years, as I moved her in with me when she became unable to cope.
Foxgrove was a 'home from home', small, friendly, wonderful staff set in beautiful gardens. Becuase mum is still quite mobile (with a stick) it soon became apparent that this was not safe for her as she wanders and was not secure, also steps etc to unsecured areas. Also because of her condition, she doesn't sleep well at night and although room etc is alarmed, to two-night staff aren't enough to deal with her needs and the 3 day-time staff only.

Notice has now been given and after only 4 weeks, another more suitable home for her needs to be found. It does state that they cater for Parkinsons and Dementia, so disappointed but understand completely.

In the six years, my mum has been at Foxgrove she has had excellent care. She is happy here, well fed and kept clean and tidy as her ability to look after herself has decreased. The staff are very kind and caring. There is always things going on to keep the residents entertained and interested. Overall a lovely home with a beautiful garden.

My mother was rapidly approaching her 80th birthday, we as a family wanted to make it a memorable time for her but wanted to include her friends at Foxgrove. We asked if we could do an afternoon tea on the grounds and management and staff were keen to assist. The chef laid on the food and I supplied the cake. The staff did a great job with the cups of tea and everyone had a great time and all kept it as a surprise for mum! Thanks Foxgrove, you did us proud!

My Dad has never been happier, very caring, reliable and cheerful staff.

Any concerns about my fathers well-being are always quickly reported.

A doctor quickly visits my Dad if there are any concerns for his health and Foxgrove take him to all his hospital appointments

Special dairy free meals are always made for my Dad which he enjoys

Mother moved into Foxgrove 6 years ago due to ageing health. The cooks go out of their way to meet my mothers diet needs. The home is small and the staff are kind and friendly, seeing to my mothers needs.

There is a full programme of activities. Mother enjoys still doing her knitting. The home also has its own in house transport for out and about activities and those appointments which take the worry out of getting your family member to them. If you're looking for a residential care home close to town, seafront them I recommend a viewing.

Our friend moved to Foxgrove from his home in September 2015, settling in well and enjoying the company and the staff. His comments were 'he felt safe'. Sadly with failing health he deteriorated. The staff and management have done an amazing job with him, encouraging him to eat and drink. He received every assistance to remain as

comfortable and able bodied where possible. The carers have such compassion and kindness. His room overlooked the garden, it had the essential equipment. Nothing was too much trouble, sorting out hearing aids, clinics etc. We are glad he chose Foxgrove he couldn't have done better!

Rebecca BewelyJob Title:Home Manager

I’m proud to lead a team that creates a warm, safe and welcoming home. Our staff are local, we work closely together and always go the extra mile for our residents. I’m passionate about supporting people to live their best lives — listening to their individual needs and giving them choice in what they do and how they live each day. I’ve worked in care for many years, hold my Level 5 in Adult Residential Care and Registered Manager’s Award, and I’m currently studying towards my Level 7.

Jane Southernwood
Jane SouthernwoodJob Title:Administrator

I decided to work at Healthcare Homes as I had been working in domiciliary care locally and wished to continue in care, without the travelling. I applied for a care assistant role at Maynell House, and due to my previous experience in admin, I’d been offered the admin post at both Foxgrove and Maynell! My favourite part of working in a residential home is working with so many different people, residents, family members, staff, and healthcare professionals. Every day is different, and that’s my favourite part.
