Basically, just a very good experience for both my wife and I, and of course, the wider family. Every member of staff I have met in the 10 days my wife has been a resident has been marvellous, but a special mention to all members of staff, they are marvellous! I don't want to leave my wife anywhere,
but if I have to, The Romford Grange is the best place.

The staff at The Grange are brilliant. They are all very caring, gentle and patient with my Nan. They began feeding her when they saw it was hard for her. Nan hasn't been eating well and they have asked if there's anything else they could offer that she would like. They update us daily when go to how
she is and what she has eaten. We were worried for her to go into a care home, but we know she is so well cared for and safe!

In few words. I find the manager and staff that they are very caring and cannot ask for more.
Special words for one staff member in particular, she is a gem. She involves herself in everything.
I must not forget another staff member for her warm greeting, I get every day as I walk through the main
entrance.

I just wanted to acknowledge my thanks and gratitude to the Romford Grange Care Home for the quality of service they give to my mum and dad, every member of staff always shows care and kindness in the way they look after all the residents, I would especially like to mention one member of staff, she
is always there with a smile and such a friendly personality always willing to help in any way she can, she really is a credit to the care home. I know my parents always look forward to seeing her when she is on shift.

Over the many years my mother has had dementia and Alzheimer's disease I have always been reluctant to have her cared for in a care home. However after 9 years of her illness I was introduced to Romford Grange Care Home and was surprisingly impressed with the genuine care and support offered to their
patients. I then decided to have Mum move in and have been very pleased with the level of care Mum has been given. The head manager is amazing and has always gone the extra to give my mum the most caring experience any thoughts I have are easily addressed to her where she acts on them immediately. The care team are all lovely especially one staff member in particular who is an amazing carer and chef she always makes the best Asian cuisine dishes to please my mum and always keeps me up to date. Some others such in particular all do a great job and Mum is happy here.

We highly recommend Romford Grange Care Home. Our mum has been given great care, lots of love and support. The staff are lovely, they go above and beyond for all residents to make them comfortable and feel included. The food is outstanding and they have lots of fun activities and entertainment through
out the week. As a family, we have complete peace of mind that all of our mum's needs are met.

We are happy with how our Grandmother is cared for. We have built good relations with staff who care for her and are given honest feedback when asking about her. We are kept up to date and contacted if she needs us or something is wrong. Recently new activity coordinator has joined the home and brought
great activities and opportunities for residents to be involved. Outside companies are provided such as hairdressing, chiropodist, singers and entertainers to make every day different. A nice variety of food is always on offer for the residents to try and eat and recently more outings have been organised to provide more normality for them which is amazing for those who rarely see visitors! The home is always being cleaned when we are visiting. Further development in the home has been noticed with freshly painted and planted garden area. It is lovely for us to bring our dogs in to visit too, as the residents love to pet them and Nan loves to groom, cuddle and feed them. Thank you to all!

This care home has surprised me in that my sister has made a marked improvement since she joined about nine months ago. She is much happier, and so am I. The staff responds to requests for attention to any concerns I may have (although these were few). There is a friendly and helpful vibe about the
place.

My mum has been at the Romford Grange since February 2023 and we have found all the staff very caring and loving towards our mum. She has good and bad days, but the staff now know her mood swings and speak to her with kindness. The nursing staff are always available if we have concerns, as well as the
manager. We feel happy that she has all the care she now needs at Romford Grange.

I have to say my mum has never been happier than she has since she came here 5 years ago. The staff are so good with mum they treat her like their own which I couldn't ask for anything else. It's the best decision we made albeit a hard one, but mums so happy she has friends in there they all sit in
the lounge singing, nattering and having a lovely time. My confidence in staff and knowing my mum is safe and happy means the world to me. I can not fault this home. Always a lovely welcome when you walk in and always have a laugh with staff and residents.

The kindness that the staff have shown towards my nanny is 1st class. I can not find the words to express how grateful I am. Nanny is so well looked after and cared for. The Manager is amazing and nothing is too much trouble for her. She goes above and beyond. She is there for us as a family day and
night. Would highly recommend Romford Grange Care Home.

I was extremely pleased with the care providers on this day. Very pleasant, greeting me politely and well mannered. Have met the area manager and it is very clear what role she is playing at the home before a manager has taken the full-time position. My wife seems relaxed but not talking. The room
was very clean as I expected.

My dad was at the care home for two months, during the pandemic (covid19), which was really hard as there were restrictions, but all the staff there made it as easy as they could for the family to visits, sitting outside wearing face masks. Our family cannot thank all staff there enough. They were very
supportive and warm, right up to my dad's last few days. Sadly, we lost him on October 3rd 2020. Thank you so much for all that you did.

I would highly recommend Romford Grange Care Home. My mother has been here for 7 years and 5 months. Her care has been exemplary from all of the staff and management. Everyone loves my Mum and she responds to the carers, activity persons and management, also the nurses, even with her dementia. My Mum
is totally reliant on their care for everything. Well done everyone.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.078)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.078) out of 10 for Romford Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.746 for Romford Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.746
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.332 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Romford Grange Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.732
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

“ I joined the company Romford Grange in September 2022 and I have to say I have settled down pretty quickly. I had to go through every detail at the home and see what was safer and more efficient for the residents, staff as well as the care home. Taking into consideration every complaint and looking for solutions to resolve these issues eventually made staff, residents and family to have to trust me. I show my staff appreciation by celebrating their birthdays and staff of the month. My Aim is to create a happy friendly and safe environment for my residents as well as for my staff. This will only happen if we work as a team at the Romford Grange and I am looking forward to bringing more positive changes to the care home. We are a big happy family.
