Cedar Court care home provides nursing, dementia and respite care to up to 63 residents. The team at Cedar Court also provide care via a specialist unit for younger people with disabilities. Experienced, registered nurses and care assistants, selected for their skills, operate a 24 hour service, delivering a high standard of care to suit individual nursing care needs.

An experienced Manager supervises the day to day running of the home and ensures that the care delivered encompasses social, physical, psychological and environmental needs. The catering team provides a varied meal choice, including nutritious and tasty meals, and special dietary requirements are catered for.

Accessible to those who wish to visit family members, the home stands within easy reach of local shops and major road routes such as the A40 to Oxford and London. Witney is the largest of the market towns in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and much of the architecture reflects the past prosperity of the woollen trade, including the 17th century Butter Cross and Church of St Mary the Virgin with its 150ft spire. The town has a bustling atmosphere with a good range of shops, supermarkets and a twice weekly market.

Cedar Court is a disabled friendly home, complete with en-suite bedrooms, a choice of lounge areas and secure courtyard garden. All care is personalised and each resident has their own key worker who keeps up with their requirements, enabling the team to respond to any change of preference or health.

My mum arrived at Cedar Cout just before Xmas on palliative care. Since then she has had no water infection, always looks nice and clean. She is very happy & enjoying life again. From eating nothing to having a healthy appetite and joining in with all the activities that are on offer, had regular meetings
which have answered all queries that have arisen.
Reply from Nicoleta Ungureanu, Home Manager at Cedar Court Care HomeThank you for your lovely feedback. We're delighted your mum is comfortable, well and enjoying activities. Our team will continue compassionate care and keep you updated.

I'm so pleased that Dad is at Cedar Court! He suffers from Dementia. Everything about Cedar Court is thoughtfully planned out around the residents' needs. Dad loves to wander, so with the building being in a square, he can wander about without feeling like he is running into lots of closed doors, and
becoming confused. There are several, well-decorated and maintained rooms to sit, eat and to do activities in, which is a lovely variety. It's spotlessly clean. I found the care staff and managers to be extremely knowledgeable about Dementia, and I have learned so much that I didn't know, which has helped me to understand Dad so much more. They managed his move in so sensitively. One member of staff sat with him quietly, so he could get his bearings, and stuck with him, so he could learn a familiar face. They speak to Dad in a lovely way that he can understand to reduce his anxiety. I'm 100% happy and confident that Dad is getting the best care, thank you so much!

Since my aunt became a resident at Cedar Court I have been impressed with the standard of care she is receiving. I have found all of the staff to be very welcoming and helpful with any concerns or questions I might have. They also keep in contact with me so I am kept up to date with her well being.
My
aunt has settled in at the home and enjoys lots of activities and days out, which I am really pleased about. She also enjoys the hairdressing and chiropody services offered when she feels like being pampered.
After joining the Cedar Court social media page I can keep up to date with what is going on at the home and also see the things my aunt is getting involved with, which is lovely to see.
I would highly recommend Cedar Court, thank you for all you do.

My mother seems to be very content. Her pain is very well managed. She is comfortable. I have asked her if she wants more things in her room, like a small lamp or radio - but she says no. The food is good for her, though she doesn't eat very much.
She can be difficult to deal with at times, so thank
you for the patience of all your staff. We as a family greatly appreciate the care she is receiving. We all live a long distance away, so visiting is limited to weekends for us and we take in turns. But we know she is well looked after and that we will be contacted immediately if there any any issues. Thank you.
Reply from Nicoleta Ungureanu, Home Manager at Cedar Court Care HomeThank you for taking the time to provide such thoughtful feedback. We are pleased to note that your mother is comfortable, content, and that her pain is being effectively managed. Her care is delivered through a person centred approach, ensuring that her individual preferences are respected and that her choices are upheld, including her decision not to have additional items such as a lamp or radio in her room. Your kind comments regarding the patience and professionalism of our staff are sincerely appreciated and will be shared with the team. Please be assured that her wellbeing remains our highest priority.

It is a real pleasure to visit my Mum with the friendly staff and manager always happy to keep up to date with any information and activities. I found it hard to accept when my Mum first went to Cedar Court but the staff were very understanding and now two years on it's like an extended family. A huge

Cedar Court Care Home is an outstanding place that truly puts residents at the heart of everything they do. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted with warmth, kindness, and a genuine sense of community. The staff are exceptionally friendly and always prepared to stop for a chat,
whether it's with residents or visiting family members. Nothing ever feels rushed there is a real culture of taking time to listen and connect.
One of the most impressive aspects of Cedar Court is the attentiveness and responsiveness of the team. Management and care staff act quickly, often within minutes, if there are any medical concerns. Their proactive approach provides enormous reassurance to families, knowing that health issues are addressed promptly and professionally. Equally important is their dedication to mental health and wellbeing. The team understands that emotional support is just as vital as physical care, and they consistently ensure residents feel valued. Thank you.

From our first meeting with the manager, Cedar Court has proven to be kind, caring and professionally run. Staff are gentle and warm with my father. He was brought in from hospital discharge for respite care but has indicated that he wants to stay. He has a beautiful big room with dual aspect windows
and an ensuite everything that he needs. Nursing staff are very knowledable and really listen to us and my father and have waked to continue his care. Excellent.

My mum recently passed away at Cedar Court, having spent the last 2.5 years under their care with her family's full involvement.
During this time, we developed good relationships with care home staff - it wasn't always easy with many emotions driving mum's constantly changing care needs; sometimes
challenging conversations, however, it was always with patience and respect, kindness and willingness to help and understand, that we had such a successful collaborative relationship with the team. I will not only miss my mum, but all of the Home team.
There isn't enough space here to go into detail, but every part of the team helped mum; from laundry, chefs, activities, care and hygiene, nurse practitioners, management, the handyman - they were great!
When mum's life neared the end, they gave us space 24/7 to be with her - provided privacy and food & drink. I will never forget the kindness and compassion of the entire team the day mum died and thank them all for taking care of all of us.

My brother was admitted to Cedar Court after a short time spent in hospital. During the short time he has been here I have found all the staff to be friendly, cheerful, helpful and extremely efficient in their approach to both my brother and myself. They are encouraging him to do as much for himself
as possible and are caring for both his mental well-being as well as his physical health. To date I can only praise them for everything that they have done and consider myself to be so fortunate to have found such an excellent home. I look forward to being associated with them for as long as is required.

My husband has only been in Cedar Court Care Home for a couple of months. We have found them very caring and mindful of all there needs. I am happy they are looking after him, as I no longer can. I also had a very nice Christmas dinner with him, which I really enjoyed. It is not an easy job and they
all do their best. I have filled in activities because my husband cannot join in as he cannot stand or walk or communicate very well and I am not there to see what they do in the morning but I know they try to get him interested in things.

My father was lucky enough to call Cedar Court home. All the staff are absolutely amazing. We sadly lost our Dad in August and the compassion and kindness we received from staff at Cedar Court really shows how outstanding the care is.
The home is friendly, clean and so welcoming to all. Dad loved
having the grandchildren to visit and we would enjoy an afternoon in the garden playing dominos or watching TV together.
Cedar Court is home from home, one big family, and I would like to thank everyone for everything they did for Dad in the five years he was there.
I would highly recommend this wonderful home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.758)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.758) out of 10 for Cedar Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.758 for Cedar Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (289 Excellents x 5) + (63 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 364 Ratings = 4.758
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Court Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I really like getting to know the residents and their families making them feel special every time they visit. Also, I love getting involved with events that happen in the home. I have had a varied career, all customer-facing facing so I feel my interpersonal skills are good. I was a Bank Manager for 18 years so I am very familiar with working with people and respecting confidentiality.
