Cedar Court care home provides nursing, dementia and respite care to up to 63 residents. The team at Cedar Court also provide care via a specialist unit for younger people with disabilities. Experienced, registered nurses and care assistants, selected for their skills, operate a 24 hour service, delivering a high standard of care to suit individual nursing care needs.

An experienced Manager supervises the day to day running of the home and ensures that the care delivered encompasses social, physical, psychological and environmental needs. The catering team provides a varied meal choice, including nutritious and tasty meals, and special dietary requirements are catered for.

Accessible to those who wish to visit family members, the home stands within easy reach of local shops and major road routes such as the A40 to Oxford and London. Witney is the largest of the market towns in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and much of the architecture reflects the past prosperity of the woollen trade, including the 17th century Butter Cross and Church of St Mary the Virgin with its 150ft spire. The town has a bustling atmosphere with a good range of shops, supermarkets and a twice weekly market.

Cedar Court is a disabled friendly home, complete with en-suite bedrooms, a choice of lounge areas and secure courtyard garden. The nursing and care staff take a lot of time to understand my Mum's needs so that the care and support can be provided in a very personalised way. It is impressive that whichever member of staff I speak to they seem to be fully aware of my Mum's state of health and how she has been over the last hours
or days. The staff are willing to spend a lot of time and effort supporting Mum and really want to do their best for her.

All the staff seem to have a good understanding of dementia and with a 24-hour nursing presence are able to quickly respond to changing situations.


Overall I am very happy with staff and management at Cedar Court.

A warm welcome awaits anyone who needs to access this service. From the very first time I set foot in Cedar Court I was welcomed. The staff are all very welcoming and bent over backwards to accommodate my aunt very quickly. They are working hard to learn about her and her needs. I attended the recent
relatives meeting which is a great opportunity to hear about developments at the home and to meet other service user's relatives and exchange experiences. I have had previous experience of nursing homes having placed my father, and worked in one in administration, and a temporary placement for my aunt. This is by far the best of the four.

This home provides a caring, respectful and responsive environment for my cousin, who needs a high level of 24-hour care and support. All the facilities, as far as I have seen them, are maintained at a high standard; but even more striking than this is the human quality of the care provided, without
which even the best-managed facilities would be missing something vital. The staff are friendly and kind, both to residents and visitors. They pay close attention to my cousin's needs (including his medical needs) and his preferences, and they engage actively with him as the intelligent and thoughtful individual he is. They are also responsive to questions and enquiries from family members. I attribute the high quality of this home to a great extent to its current manager, who works with a quite exceptional combination of care, efficiency, imagination, good judgment and openness, and who is able to enthuse her staff with these qualities. I cannot fault this home on any score.
