Cedar Court care home provides nursing, dementia and respite care to up to 63 residents. The team at Cedar Court also provide care via a specialist unit for younger people with disabilities. Experienced, registered nurses and care assistants, selected for their skills, operate a 24 hour service, delivering a high standard of care to suit individual nursing care needs.

An experienced Manager supervises the day to day running of the home and ensures that the care delivered encompasses social, physical, psychological and environmental needs. The catering team provides a varied meal choice, including nutritious and tasty meals, and special dietary requirements are catered for.

Accessible to those who wish to visit family members, the home stands within easy reach of local shops and major road routes such as the A40 to Oxford and London. Witney is the largest of the market towns in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and much of the architecture reflects the past prosperity of the woollen trade, including the 17th century Butter Cross and Church of St Mary the Virgin with its 150ft spire. The town has a bustling atmosphere with a good range of shops, supermarkets and a twice weekly market.

Cedar Court is a disabled friendly home, complete with en-suite bedrooms, a choice of lounge areas and secure courtyard garden. All care is personalised and each resident has their own key worker who keeps up with their requirements, enabling the team to respond to any change of preference or health.

My mum came to Cedar Court about 2 months ago. She was distressed, depressed, confused and we could no longer manage her behaviour or her needs. The difference now is amazing. I have not seen her smile or laugh for what must be years. The staff are clearly doing something that we could not do.
The
manager realises that the decision to put a loved one in care is not easy, and he spends considerable time making sure that relatives are given reassurance and help when needed.
Staff are friendly, helpful and diligent. They always make my mum feel special.
Visitors are always made welcome and they always seem to know who you are visiting.
Both my dad and I can now sit back knowing that my mum is in a very safe place and being cared for in a professional and caring way.

My father has been here for more than a year. There is a core group of caregivers that have been here throughout. They are kind, caring and compassionate. I would recommend the home to any family considering dementia care for a loved one. I live out of the country which is difficult. Knowing my father

I have been very surprised how my wife has improved since her arrival at cedar court and she seems very happy. I put this down to the care she receives. The food and drinks etc are excellent. The laundry keeps her clothes in very good order. The manager and nursing staff are well on top if problems
occur.

The carers and medical staff and management are very friendly and in most cases react well to any requests although it took some weeks to respond to a particular request until we wrote a letter of complaint and the matter was concluded. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful.

Early in the year Cedar Court went through staffing problems and is now getting over that problem by employing permanent rather than relying on agency staff. I have found the staff approachable.
The items that I feel need more attention are as follows;
Named items of clothing not being returned
to the proper residents after being washed.
Tea and coffee cups need to be collected more regularly from the resident's room and washed and stored properly.
It's been brought to my attention that the kitchen area needs to be kept clean, i.e. food left uncovered, milk left out of the fridge and dirty worktops. Need to put into practice your food hygiene policy.
Buzzers sounding and not being answered within an appropriate time span.
As care homes go in the local area Cedar Court is very competitive.

I found the staff to be friendly and courteous, my friend's room looked nice but smelt of urine. The care appeared to be good and the food looked very nice. The cook asked her if she enjoyed her food which was nice to see her. My friend looked well cared for.

All staff that I have encountered are without exception, excellent! They provide an extremely high level of care and support and treat residents with dignity.


The staff are like an extended family and I cannot praise them highly enough.

From management to care staff, Cedar Court provided a safe and welcoming home in which my mother has lived for over two years. They have worked hard to get to know her and her needs. I am always informed of changes in her care and the staff are very approachable. My family and I are always made to feel
welcome when visiting and over the years, I have got to know mums carers and I feel we are lucky to have such dedicated staff working at Cedar Court. The atmosphere there can make even a stressful visit when mum isn't having a good day so much better when you know they care and that mum and I have their knowledgeable support.

The staff are excellent and my mother is well cared for. They treat her with dignity and respect, and as an individual. Staff have a good understanding of Alzheimer's. Any health problems have been attended to promptly, and staff are always willing to talk to me about my mother's care.
