My sister has been here for at least 18 months. I couldn't ask for a better place for her to be. The staff are fantastic and they look after her so well, I can leave her knowing that she is in safe and capable hands. Sandown Park is definitely the best care home around this area.

I have now been visiting Frank for some 5 months or so since the passing of his wife in January he always seems happy with the care and attention from the many carers who surround him. When asked he is happy with the food and the attention he is given. When I come during the week he is often in lounge 3 along with other residents he seems to be happy.

Mum has had respite stays and rehab stays elsewhere but without a doubt Sandown Park have the best staff of all. Other stays may have been more costly, but none match up to Sandown. The compassion and care shown is exemplary. We cannot fault any area of her care and now she is there permanently- the family cannot be happier.

What a wonderful place for my mum to end her years. The staff a so lovely, gentle and attentive. They really do care and not just for the residents but the families too. We were always welcomed with a smile even our little dog 'crackers' was made to feel at home. The cleaners keep the place immaculate. The food was of high quality and fresh. The respect and dignity they showed my mum at her end was priceless. Thank you for all you've done for us.

As an only child visiting my Mother, everyday, for 9 months, I have nothing but praise for the hardworking team that cared for my Mum.
I cared for my Mum myself for 7 years prior to her stay and it was essential for me to continue her journey with her at Sandown Park.
Mum had advanced dementia and 92yrs old when she took a fall, this broke both her hips which couldn't be repaired, making her incontinent and bedridden, consequently she needed Nursing care, Sandown Park was the answer!
We were guided by great, proactive and happy carers, knowledgeable, efficient and skilled Nurses, all of whom were able to give us the time of day, smile, chat and make my visits and Mums stay a little bit easier.
This warm and welcoming care home is driven by Shahnaaz who is just brilliant!
My very resilient Mother passed on her own terms with no infection and was beautifully cared for.

Excellent service and care. Mum smiles every day, according to family, friends and carers that came to visit. Sandown looked after mum with great care and dignity. Mum enjoyed all the meals which were patiently fed to mum. Mum was given a lovely, airy room looking out on to the garden, and she could listen to music when in her room. Mum was also included in activities, and was given hair washes etc. Overall mum seemed content with her 3 weeks in respite care and all the staff were friendly.

Review from David S (Husband of Resident) published on 26 August 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My wife was admitted after suffering a stroke which resulted in her being paralysed to her left arm and leg. She is not incontinent but cannot use toilet facilities which requires staff to carry out those duties. Here, much to her initial regret, duties are always completely carried out by male staff. They have proved extremely popular with her since she's been here. Food she considers adequate but not attractive. She has a very limited diet, which is the main problem. Accommodation is adequate but it's beset by being contaminated by cats. I think she will have regrets in leaving when she is moved to her permanent home.
