My mother was admitted to Sandown Park in November 20202 and was made permanent at the end of 2022. She appears to have settled in very well, and her care has been excellent.

Unfortunately, my husband went into Sandown Park direct from the hospital on the instruction of social services on 12/8/22 for five weeks and six days.
This would never have been my choice.
One week was enough for me and my family.
The whole experience was just terrible.
Basic hygiene was terrible;
we had to ask on many occasions for him to be showered, brush his teeth and change slips more often because of double incontinence. Continuing damp smell in the bathroom. The whole second floor he was placed on continually smelt of urine. Three times reminded the carer to put the brake on the wheelchair as my husband had poor balance. I could say more, but am just glad he is out of that home and now lives in a much cleaner environment and receives much better care with very helpful people and my own health is improving also.

Sadly we have received this review which is not factual. Staff felt they were rudely spoken to constantly and when given an account of care when questioned was not believed. This was referred to the local authority. As the home's manager, my door is always open and the family never approached me about their concerns.

Unfortunately, my aunt passed away last weekend. She was a matter of days to her 97th birthday. The care and empathy that the staff showed my aunt and myself were exemplary; they have helped me through this very sad time (not totally unexpected). I would wholeheartedly recommend this care home.

The care director has generously allowed me to take my mother out for a drive. This means I am trusted, and I appreciate it. The nursing staff are hardworking, and on the whole, informative. I expect that the care will not be tailor made as everyone's needs are important. Above all, I had a problem
understanding when certain actions were taken, and now I do understand.

Although my mum was only there for three months, her end-of-life care was excellent. All the carers were very helpful and kind. The nurses in charge were excellent.

I always get greeted warmly when I go to visit my brother. He has had excellent care since moving to this nursing home and settled in quickly. The staff were very good to him and looked after him really well and always with dignity.

I had some reservations about my husband going to a care home, but seeing how well he had settled in put my mind at ease. All staff have made a real effort to accommodate his needs. He is safe and happy, which is all I want.

My uncle moved into Sandown Park during the pandemic, and the care he received was excellent. The accommodation was clean and well maintained, and the staff were very approachable, caring and friendly. I have nothing but praise for Sandown Park, and I would strongly recommend this care home to anyone
looking for peace of mind when caring for their loved one.

I would highly recommend Sandown Park to anyone who needs the best treatment, care and understanding. Staff are wonderful, very loyal and very caring not only to the patients but their relatives too. You can approach the staff to discuss your relative's welfare. It's clean, fresh-looking, meals are
very good. The whole team worked well together over the Covid period - very impressed.

My mum has been in Sandown Park Care Home for four years now with dementia. I feel she is in a very good care home. When I visit, I’m happy with how she looks, the carers keep her looking clean and tidy, and the nurses look after her medical needs.
All the staff are friendly, always smiling and very
welcoming, which really helps when mum is having a bad day.
Sandown Park is very well managed.
In Sandown Park, the rooms and corridors are kept very clean and tidy.
I would recommend Sandown Park Care Home to everyone as Mum is safe, clean, fed, and very well looked after.

Amazing support and sensitivity from the nursing and care staff, particularly two members of staff. Overall, we were extremely happy with the way my mother was looked after. I would recommend that there is clearer communication of the visiting regulations. I realise this was difficult over Covid, but
there were occasions when we felt lost and confused by this.

My mother was only resident during lockdown so my views are a little limited as I never got a chance to enter the home. However, when I was able to visit, Mum seemed well cared for, always clean and tidy. All staff members and management were helpful and professional at all times. My Mom did have a
few issues whilst resident but we were always contacted to be advised and each issue was dealt with to my satisfaction. Unfortunately, Mom passed away while resident and I would like to thank all staff and management for the care they gave to Mom during her stay.
