All staff are very welcoming. Always keep me uptodate with my fathers condition. Careplan is regularly reviewed. I visit most days and I am always welcomed with a cup of coffee and cake/biscuit. The care/nursing staff are very good with my father who can be agitated at times. Medication is also regularly
reviewed.
Overall everybody is brilliant and very helpful. Would recommend to others.

I have visited a resident for 6 months and I have found the staff extremely helpful and friendly
I would especially like to thank the admin clerk who always greets me with a friendly smile and always assists me with any concerns I may have regarding the resident always passes on my messages to the
relevant staff
She is very efficient and a great asset to the home
Any reported concerns are always acted upon immediately and the family of the resident are very happy with how this system works
The staff are very busy but always take the time to make me feel welcome .. offer me a cup of tea and cake
Over all I find the home is very good and reaches a high standard of care

I moved my Grandma to the grange a week ago and the family are incredible. From the carers to the office staff. Donna & Lauren in the office have gone above and beyond with helping me navigate everything from paperwork to settling my grandma into the home. I can't fault it one bit. If you want your
family member to be safe, secure and supported then definitely go to the grange.

My mother was looked after so well during the 1.5 years she was with you, until she sadly passed away. The staff, from management, to nurses and carers were all wonderfully attentive and caring up until the last.
I can highly recommend The Blandford Grange

My mum received appalling care at Blandford Grange during her 5 week stay in the last weeks of her life. I cannot urge other relatives to avoid this home enough. She was not treated with respect or dignity and her care was unsafe. Her medications were not managed correctly and she was left in risky
situations. It breaks my heart that she suffered more than she needed to at this vulnerable time in her life. We launched complaints but their record keeping is so poor that investigation is almost impossible. I am just glad that we were able to get her moved to a better place to die where the managers and staff were professional and compassionate. The home she moved to even raised a safeguarding complaint as her transfer to them had been dangerously managed by Blandford Grange. The home is systemically poorly run with a culture that would take a complete overhaul to change. I am mistrustful of other reviews on this site - they bear no resemblance to an our experience

Highly recommend Blandford Grange. From day 1, Mum received the best nursing care, sadly she was only there for 2 weeks before she died peacefully. We quickly felt part of her care and known by nurses/carers and made welcome. Very friendly place. Thank you.

My wife, Janet, had to move here from another care-home about 4 weeks ago. She was pleased with the room they gave her and with the staffs general acceptance of her and their willingness to make her happy and welcome. A meal was waiting for her and we have found it all of good standard. I am glad we
have made the move.

My father came to the Grange Dec 13th 2024. Dad collapsed Saturday morning and passed Sunday in the hospital. Can I just say the care and compassion shown to my father was amazing, and to myself. To all the carers in the home thank you for just being patient, listening, attention to detail and love.
This home maybe social funded but the care is 100%. My father had vascular dementia and many challenges occurred. I was always informed of any changes and asked if there was anything they could change to make his care better. 100% recommend this care home. Staff are amazing. Thank you with all my heart xxx

The care superb, friendly, professional + kind. Dignity was maintained at all times. Medical attention + medication management was excellent. When needed, outside specialist advice was sought + implemented speedily. I could not fault the staff who were upbeat, kind, caring + professional. Altogether
a very good experience.

My husband has been in Blandford Grange Care Home, approaching 4 years now. I have found the staff very friendly, caring and cooperative. They are all very kind to the residents and treat them with respect. Always ready to assist when asked. The entertainment is great and the residents enjoy. There
have been changes in management which has been a little stressful as the maintenance of the home and grounds has suffered somewhat. But we now have a new manager so hopefully this will be good.

The staff make the care home a safe and caring home from home. My mum has had some difficulty with understanding some of the overseas staff initially but is fine now. She enjoys the wonderful cooked food and homemade cakes. I feel safe in the knowledge that she is cared for, the staff are engaging and
friendly and I always enjoy my visits. I do feel however, there would be a benefit in having one more member of staff to cover when other staff members are occupied in rooms.

My friend lived at Blandford Grange for six years. Throughout she was well cared for and despite being bedbound, the staff continued to involve her in activities. All of the staff fully engaged with her and she enjoyed the interaction. During her last few days of life, she was well supported. This was
vital as she had few close relatives nearby. I believe her quality of life, although limited was enhanced by being in the home and not in her own home.

My brother and I cannot express the warmth and love we feel for all at Blandford Grange Care Home. Mum lived out her last seventeen months (suffering from dementia with Lewy bodies) surrounded by wonderful people who cared, cleaned, cooked and laughed with her. They became her family and friends. Activities
were important with singing, crafts and nail painting evident on visiting! She wasn't lonely anymore. Mum passed away very peacefully, comfortably with dignity and love which was a natural release. Thank you for being there for us.

From the moment you step into Blandford Grange Care Home, you feel a friendly, welcoming, calm atmosphere. It is a well-run care home which employs genuinely caring, compassionate staff. The rooms are spacious and you are encouraged to bring as many pictures in as you like to have. There is a wide range

I feel grateful that Mum is now living in such a relaxed and caring environment. It has taken the weight off my shoulders.

The care my wife received in Blandford was exceptional. The entire team were always so welcoming, so friendly, always smiling and could never do enough to help. From a personal point of view, time at the care home could not have been any better for my wife, myself or my family. Not only did they always
put my wife's needs first but always made sure I was looked after. Her time at the care home was the happiest it could have ever been.
I would strongly advise anyone considering Blandford to go and meet the team as this is what makes it shine and stand out, due to the positive willing attitudes of the entire team.
Thank you to all.

It has been lovely to be able to come and visit my nan, who has been here, at the care home, for the past eight months. She is being well looked after and is safe here in the care of the carers. Whenever I've come to see my nan, she is always looked after and content. She takes part in activities and
is kept company by the carers, who take the time to make her feel comfortable and well looked after.
Reply from Home Manager, Home Manager at Blandford Grange Care HomeThank you so much for this review. We are really pleased that you always find your nan happy, well looked after and content. If there is any more we can do to make your nan happy and comfortable, we are always here to do so and appreciate your feedback and input.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.455)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.455) out of 10 for Blandford Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.455 for Blandford Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (156 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 246 Ratings = 4.455
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blandford Grange Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
