Great communication over covid and staff have worked hard to offer virtual catchups with my mum via Whatsapp which has been great.
My mum is very happy and it's great to be able to see her. She is always very praising of the staff and how they look after her.

I have been so impressed by the levels of care and kindness shown. Wide-ranging activities, good food, clean environment. Strong management. Relatives kept well informed. Would strongly recommend this home.

Excellent care and attention were given to my dear brother within his hour of need during his period of illness. A special thanks to all the staff at The Grange Care Home particularly his nurse who made my brothers stay there comfortable and well cared for.

My husband has been looked after very well.
I go often and notice a lot of care, love and respect on the 2nd floor.
The activities side is, however, very poor now.

My mother has been well cared for, she is respected, her needs are met.
A shame for us that her dementia has worsened. As mum cannot understand, we just to enjoy colouring, as she did not want to before. She still recognises us.
Mum likes her food, would like to be able to phone at weekends directly,
cannot be manned.

My mother moved to Blandford Grange Care Home top floor in April 2016 into a room without a carpet, which although initially, we felt was disappointing, turned out to be a good thing as mum was very good at spilling food and drink everywhere. The room was large and airy with a great view of the school,
its grounds, woods and church across the river through a large window.


The care has been consistent and very good and if the floor wasn't always clean, this was more than made up for by the attentive needs and attention to mum's comfort and needs.

Very happy with the level of care provided by the staff. Their approach is kind and they ensure that my husband is cared for in a dignified way. Staff are approachable and listen to any concerns. His room is kept clean and tidy with a wonderful view that benefits his emotional health.

The staff at Blandford Grange are all very good, caring people, taking care of my mother's every need daily. It is a comfort to me and the family as we are unable to give this care to Mum 24/7 ourselves.

My partner has only been in residence for a month. He appears to be content to be confined to his room (due to his state of health) now that I have customised his room with TV, video recorder, paintings, books etc. He appreciates the snacks and drinks that I bring him in daily as he is used to a much
wider variety of food. I did supply management with a list of his preferred food but I am unsure whether or not the catering staff refers to this.

Despite the often extremely challenging dementia issues of residents, staff at Blandford Grange are unerringly kind, compassionate and caring, as well as being professional and efficient.
I visited my mother at all times of day and night and always met with warmth and generosity of spirit, whichever
staff members were on duty. Relationships between residents and carers were such that one could see the fondness in both directions. My mother dies peacefully and in comfort, for which I am grateful.

My husband has only been at The Grange for a very short while, but I am very pleased with his care. He seems very settled and calm. They are so kind, helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble. They do excellent work under very difficult conditions and have unlimited patience - it takes special
people to carry out the continued daily problems and they do it with grace, understanding and I admire them immensely.

My wife stays at Blandford Grange for 2 to 3 weeks about 6 times a year for respite for me.
I do not visit as I am away on business during those times. Others visit and their reports are always positive and reassuring. My wife always seems happy, entertained by their activities and maintained in health.

Sunday 9th July was my wife's 86th birthday. The staff decorated the area in which my wife was sitting - it all looked very festive. The staff entered the room singing Happy Birthday, encouraging other residents to join in, carrying a beautifully iced decorated cake. My wife showed her delight and looked
most impressed, blew out the candles and enjoyed a slice of cake.


The staff were brilliant - they did all they could to enthuse everyone and created a really festive atmosphere. The best birthday my wife has celebrated for many years. Well done to everyone who contributed.

My mother had resided in the above care home for over five and a half years when she became very ill in March 2017 and was admitted to hospital. Due to having dementia, she became very frightened and anxious once in hospital. The care home liaised with the hospital and myself in getting her back to
the home as quickly as possible to treat her and look after her in familiar surroundings with people she knew. The care and kindness shown by all the staff in the last weeks of my mother's life were second to none. I can't thank them enough.

Staff provided good care to my mother, ensured she was nicely dressed in her own clothes, applied makeup, looked after her hair. They checked that she was comfortable and that she was eating well.
They always contacted us if they had any concerns about her.

The favourite part of her working day is serving lunches to residents and receiving feedback from them and seeing residents enjoying their meals.


The biggest professional challenge in her career to date was making the decision to move to the care sector from the education sector. As it turned out, it has been the best decision she has ever made.


Sharon's biggest career highlight to date was preparing food for Princess Anne!


Qualities that make her stand out are being approachable, hardworking, reliable and trustworthy.


Outside of work, she enjoys watching rugby and watching her son play rugby. She also enjoys music and playing darts.


Sharon looks forward to seeing residents and relatives enjoying their meals as it is a major part of their every daily lives at Blandford Grange.

The second I walked into Blandford Grange it felt like a home away from home, the staff have an infectious attitude, and the residents and relatives are truly amazing. There is never a dull moment, and you never know what each day will bring! I couldn’t imagine a better place to work. I love being able to interact with our residents, relatives and team at the front of the house at reception.
