My dad (Steve) spent his final days and weeks at this care home, and we will always be deeply grateful for the care and compassion he received there. From the moment he arrived, every member of staff treated him with kindness, dignity and respect. The team not only cared for my dad but also supported
our whole family through a very difficult time. Their warmth professionalism and patience meant so much to us. It brings us comfort to know that dad was so well looked after and surrounded by people who genuinely cared for him. Thank you to everyone at this care home.

The staff were very welcoming and kind from the start. Always ready to chat about my brother-in-law and help with any problems. They were also very good about providing cups of tea and biscuits. My brother-in-law was quite a difficult client, but the staff managed to deal with his very challenging behaviour
with kindness and understanding. He can sometimes be very aggressive and violent. They were very good at calming him and could get him at times to do the right thing.

My husband came here following discharge from hospital as end of life. He's unable to do anything for himself and is now in his last few days. Myself and both daughters were very impressed with the genuine care and professionalism shown by all staff involved. They showed genuine compassion not only
to my husband but also such sensitivity to myself and my daughters, all of which has made an emotional and difficult time a bit easier. Thank you The Chase and all your care workers and nurses. You go over and above to ease our worries and have genuine care for my husband.

My father came to The Chase to receive palliative care. He was looked after exceptionally well by all the staff.
Each time I visited, I was made to feel welcome. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. We were kept informed of my father's condition which made his eventual passing as easy as
possible.
In particular, Leanne went above and beyond to ensure my dear dad was comfortable.
Thank you.

I have been visiting the care home for well over 2 years. The weeks when there was an outbreak of the sickness etc., the home came up to expectations. There was no panic, everywhere was calm and duties were carried out professionally. I knew that when I could not visit during this period, my husband
was being very well looked after. Well done to you all.

My wife was admitted to the Chase Care Home with vascular dementia and from the beginning, her fears and apprehensions were allayed by the carers. Within a month, her emotional nature has gone from dismay to happy acceptance of her situation, that the Chase will be her home for the foreseeable future.
I
cannot speak too highly of the carers who all show great patience and understanding when dealing with her irrational, confused and fearful mind. My wife has the daily option of enjoying a wide range of daily activities to sitting quietly in the garden enjoying the sun. No pressure is placed upon her to conform in any way.
I am enormously reassured that my wife now has the personal care and understanding that I regret I am unable to provide and look forward to the Chase continuing its valuable work.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.715)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.715) out of 10 for The Chase Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 54 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.715 for The Chase Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (462 Excellents x 5) + (146 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 624 Ratings = 4.715
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Chase Care Centre is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 110 registered maximum number of service users is 22, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
