I love it here. I can ring the manager every day and she sorts out everything for me. The staff are lovely and kind. I love it a very lovely place to be.

Very disappointed with the standards at this home. Virtually no activities apart from a singer. Understaffed and residents put to bed early whether they're tired or not because there are only 2 members of night staff for the entire floor.

I've emailed the manager twice with our concerns and a month later she hasn't had the courtesy to reply. The kitchen is sparse and shabby and you can never find a spoon! No cupboards, just a tatty sink and a fridge.

Overall last few months lots of staff have left, activities could be better for residents in Monet Unit. Since the new manager was put in place I can see big improvements being made.

I can't explain in words the care and compassion shown to my friend at the chase centre.
A new manager has been appointed and what a difference.
The staff are wonderful and do such an amazing job. They show care and kindness every single day without fail.

The difference over the pasts month is just great!

Over the past five years, I have visited over ten homes near and around Watford because of the state of my wife's health. I am pleased that I finally placed my wife here at The Chase Care Centre. Based upon my own experience, this has to be rated as one of the very best care homes in this area.

We are pleased with the running of the home and the kindness, care and attention shown to residents. They have music regularly and also put on a lovely barbeque once a year for residents, their families and friends. We could not wish for a better place for my husband/father to be.

Overall, our family have been more than impressed with the care and service our father has received. Staff know what is required of them and they contribute to making fathers stay as pleasant as possible. We were lucky to have been offered a room here when we needed one.

The overall standard of care is fantastic. The care staff are brilliant and the cleanliness of the home is second to none. Also, the facilities, safety, and security of residents are exceptionally good. Top marks go to the nursing staff and the management, very friendly, caring and approachable.

My mother has been in this care home for seven years she is nearly 93 and has various health problems and very challenging behaviour. The chase has been wonderful and I have always found the staff deal with my mother very sensitively going that extra mile to calm her down and improve her experience. I have always seen the residents treated well with dignity and respect. The manager too is very approachable and makes herself available as a priority although it's a large home it is very friendly. The home is always clean and fresh, I'd recommend it to anyone in need of professional care.

My husband has been at The Chase for 6 years and has been extremely well cared for during this time. I cannot fault the dedication of the staff in each unit.
The garden area at the rear of the building could be further enhanced by comfortable chairs and tables along with sunshades as the present furniture is extremely heavy and uncomfortable. More greenery should be added too. Hopefully, this will be rectified over the coming year.
Old TVs and CD players should be updated in the Maygar Unit.

Activities have improved in the last couple of months for residents, with a variety of needs but more investment should be made particularly in music.

BBQ was an excellent day as always, all the staff participated even on days off. A very cheerful happy group, who worked so hard to make residents and their families have a good time. The food was beyond excellent. So nicely presented and plentiful. To suit all diets, the music provided had many dancing and a lovely display Rock 'n' Rollers and Line Dancers. The preparation and catering for such a large event was fantastic.

I have been a resident in this home for just under 6 years. I find the home to be very friendly and homely. The home is extremely clean and does not smell like a typical care home. I like the fact there is a young persons' department in the home. This enables me to socialise with people more in my age group. I also like the fact that the home has free Wi-Fi, this helps me to keep in contact with friends and family via email, Skype etc. I believe this to be essential as to fit in with the modern day world in which we live.
