Our cousin was only at The Chase for about 8 weeks. During this time his health was in decline. He was cared for excellently and treated with respect throughout. The staff at The Chase were always welcoming and we could see by their actions/conversations that they wanted the best for him. Thank you
for looking after him in such a caring, safe and warm environment.

The care, compassion and help Mum has received from every member of staff at The Chase has been exceptional. She has been very well looked after at all times, with dignity and tenderness. The Chase is spotlessly clean and very well maintained; although Mum did not get to see it herself, it was lovely
to see others enjoy the outside space and entertainment. Proximity to and care from the GP has also been exceptional. Please look past some of the shabbiness in fittings, it is people who count... and those people working here are amazing.

My mum spent her last 4-and-a-half months here in The Chase and it was definitely the right choice for her. From our initial visit it was clear all the staff work very hard to make the residents happy and settled. Communication between the staff and family members was very good and we felt always that
care and compassion for residents is at the care of this home. We have no hesitation in recommending The Chase and have been very grateful for all their hard work.

In March 2024 my dad was taken to the Chase from hospital. His care has been excellent. Staff in the GlennMiller unit are amazing. Dad settled very well so we decided to keep him there as a permanent resident. Our family was made to feel very welcome any time. Sadly my dad passed away recently, he was
treated with dignity and respect. We couldn't have wished for a better place.

A warm welcome with a true understanding from the minute you arrive at reception. The staff at reception were very friendly and professional. The management, staff and nurses, the entire team on the Mayger Ward, were wonderful from the outset. There appeared to be a good understanding between them and
they worked well as a team, whilst having to do multiple jobs around the ward to ensure that it ran properly. My father had very few needs in his short stay but they were met to the highest standard. From the nurses and doctors who did the medicines and told me of Dad's passing, to the nurses who changed, bathed and washed Dad, to the cleaners, to maintenance, and everyone on the Mayger Unit, I thank you!

My experience with the care home is one of admiration. They provided excellent care for my father, particularly in his final weeks, ensuring his comfort and support for my family. They treated my father with dignity and consistently demonstrated kindness and compassion. Every single staff member displayed
empathy, which was deeply appreciated. His room was always clean and tidy with enough space for his bed, television and personal belongings. The lounge offered a welcoming environment for residents to socialise and watch TV together. We are deeply grateful for everything the care home did for my father and are thankful that he received such attentive care in the last year of his life.
Reply from Ana Ciobotaru, Manager at The Chase Care CentreThank you for your lovely feedback, everyone at The Chase makes it a priority to ensure all of our residents, family, friends and guests are made to feel at home. My Uncle was suffering from cancer of the bladder and was in palliative care when he was released from hospital and brought to The Chase. He stayed at The Chase for only 3 weeks and passed away on New Year's Day 2025. My family and I were impressed with all the care and dedication shown and their professionalism.
We were allowed to visit almost at any time we wished, there was car parking facilities, and the GP service was just opposite the nursing home, as was the hospital. A doctor was visiting the home every Monday. The food was very good and because my Uncle had problems swallowing his food, it was blended for him. The room had its own toilet and was large. All in all excellent place and service.

Having been in two other homes previously, The Chase is the only place that my mother has felt comfortable, happy and like a home. The level of care my mother has received has had a marked improvement on her quality of life. I have recommended the home to someone I know whose father has Parkinson's
and dementia. Since being here I feel I don't need to worry about my mother's day-to-day care.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives at The Chase. The staff are friendly, helpful and caring. Since moving into The Chase my mother seems to have her smile back. When I visit, she seems happy and comfortable. I live nearly 200 miles away and it is a great comfort to me to know that she
is being well cared for.

My elderly mum came to stay at The Chase on the 6th of December. She has been welcomed and well cared for and has been kept busy with many different activities. She is settling in gradually and I am pleased and relieved that she is joining in well where she can. It will take time for her to recognise
this is her 'new home' but she seems happy enough.

I recently wrote a review about the amazing care my husband received in The Chase. My husband passed away and although truly upsetting I could not have asked for a more peaceful and respectful passing. I was with my husband at the end and all the staff made sure we were both comfortable and well cared
for. The staff treated my husband with pure respect after his passing and ensured I was alright and understood everything, nothing was rushed and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The staff are like family and I will miss their wonderful care, concern and respect.

Our experience at The Chase Care Centre is, I am glad and happy to say, a very happy and positive one.
The care my mum has experienced is excellent and holistic. Although she is limited because of her dementia, she is included in the various activity programmes. The carers encourage her to keep well
nourished which is not easy. They are kind and considerate, not only to Mum but also to our family, and the nurses on Van Gough unit keep us updated and informed of any changes in her care.

I would just like to say how lovely the staff at The Chase Care Centre are.
My dad was a resident for his end-of-life care and I can't state enough how amazing the staff and carers were towards him. They treated him with respect and dignity right to the end. Even shaving him the day before he passed
and making sure he had clean clothes daily - thank you.
Reply from Ana Ciobotaru, Manager at The Chase Care CentreThank you for your review. We are very happy to see how much you all appreciate what we offer at The Chase. It was our privilege to care for such a nice gentleman at this time of life. He was so interesting and on his good days, he enjoyed what The Chase had to offer. It was sad to say goodbye to you all but I will share your lovely compliments with the staff. Thank you once again.

The best thing about this place is the food which is excellent and the staff are really nice also the good thing about this place is that it is really tidy and clean.
Overall it is a very good place. When I had a stroke and I was shifted to the hospital after that I went to a place where I stayed for
a few days and then I came to this place and it's been a year now so it feels like home and it is away from town so it is quiet and peaceful and I am happy here so I don't want to go elsewhere and stay here.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.715)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.715) out of 10 for The Chase Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 54 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.715 for The Chase Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (462 Excellents x 5) + (146 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 624 Ratings = 4.715
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Chase Care Centre is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 110 registered maximum number of service users is 22, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
