I’m a Registered Nurse with over 16 years of experience supporting older people and leading teams to deliver high standards of care. I’m passionate about enriching residents' lives by treating each person as an individual, listening to their stories and feedback, and continuously working to improve their experience in the home.
I love the strong family feel in the home, where we work as a team and take pride in seeing our residents thrive. Getting to know each person well and making sure they feel truly looked after is always my priority, and I try to bring a happy, positive energy every day. I’ve completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Adult Care, along with training such as Singing for the Brain with the Alzheimer’s Society, the Love to Move exercise programme, and a NAPA Level 2 activities course, all of which help me support residents in meaningful and engaging ways.
With over 27 years of experience as a chef in both restaurants and care homes, I hold a degree in hospitality and love cooking for the residents. I enjoy interacting with them, listening to their feedback, and making sure meals are tailored to their preferences and dietary needs. I work closely with the nursing team to ensure every resident receives the right food in a way that feels like home.
I have NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care, along with experience supporting people living with dementia.
I love spending time getting to know our residents and learning about their lives, interests and the things that are important to them. This helps me plan activities and experiences that people genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
The best part of my job is building relationships with residents and hearing their amazing life stories. If I've made someone smile by the end of the day, then it's been a good day for both of us.
