Team members and residents at our Brighton care home are celebrating after receiving an ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The health watchdog praised our residential, nursing and dementia home’s team for their performance and out of five key areas reviewed all were rated as ‘Good.’

Our home on Carden Avenue was rated as ‘Good’ in the areas of ‘safe’, ‘caring’, ‘effective’ ‘responsive’ and ‘well led’.

The report that was published recently said, “People were happy with the care they received, felt relaxed with staff and told us they were treated with kindness. They said they felt safe, were well supported and there were sufficient staff to care for them.”

One relative was also quoted in the report, they said, “When I’m older I want to live here. They are amazing. They really understand my relative’s dementia and what makes her happy.”

General manager at Maycroft Manor, Ian Cole, said, “We are extremely pleased with the result, it is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the team to deliver high-quality relationship-centred care to our residents. From high five moments and celebrations, to times of sensitivity and sadness, we share these moments together with team members, residents and relatives alike, as a family.

“I look forward to the next step of our journey, continuing to deliver excellent care.”
