During this pandemic, it has been more important than ever for teams at each Excelcare home to work together and offer support to their colleagues.

There has been an increased effort to ensure the residents remain in good spirits during this lockdown period, whilst staying healthy too. As a result, team members are going above and beyond in their roles to avoid disruption and keep life at the homes running smoothly.

To ensure colleagues feel supported, schemes have been introduced to support wellbeing and care packages have been sent out in appreciation of their work.

Lesley, the regional administration manager in Essex, recently had an idea to help the team at Goldenley Care Home get through this lockdown period.

She created a COVID-19 notice board for the team, where they could write their thoughts and feelings at the end of each day. This is an open place where that can share words of encouragement, challenges they're facing and notes about life at the home. The board was decorated with rainbows to spread hope and reminders of the wellbeing schemes available to them.

When the team saw what Lesley had done, they were all very grateful and said what a lovely idea it was.

It's important that team members feel safe and supported during this period, to ensure they can continue to deliver high standards of care to the residents. This notice board will not only spread inspiration but highlight areas that need extra support, so they can be actioned to help maintain team wellbeing.

Since being introduced, the notice board has been used by all of the team and now contains compliments of their work and words of inspiration.

Well done Lesley for making life a little bit easier for the team at Goldenley and going above and beyond to ensure they feel supported.
