Prestbury Beaumont Care Community in Prestbury, part of Barchester Healthcare are situated in Collar House, Prestbury which celebrates this year it’s 240th anniversary since being built.

Originally built and owned by the Horden Family dating from the 1780s then subsequently used to house tenant farmers before being transformed by various “gentleman“ owners until the early part of the 20th century when it was bought by the Waterhouse dynasty whose Edwin Waterhouse, one of the founders of Price Waterhouse the global accountants, resided.

During the Second World War it was annexed to St Mary’s Hospital Manchester due to bombing fears and many of those born in Collar House at that time still come back to take a look at this remarkable house. Current residents and care staff still enjoy some of the original features and extensive gardens.

General Manager, Catherine Campbell said: “It is wonderful to be still enjoying Collar House and the fascinating history behind it”.

We are welcoming new residents into our homes to ensure that we are there for those that need care and support, and have a very clear admission policy and infection control protocols that must be met. Please do give us a call on 01625 827 151 if you are looking for care or need any further help.
