COVID-19 Update - Home Vaccine Rollout

Staff and residents at The Green Care Group Homes, in Dronfield and Hasland, are both happy and relieved to have received their first doses of the Pfizer Vaccine.

Staff at the Homes were some of the first in Derbyshire to be vaccinated and all those that consented to, have now had their first dose, with many also having had their second dose.

Andrea Elliott, Home Manager for The Green in Hasland commented, “I, personally, was very pleased to hear the news about the vaccine and to be one of the first homes to get it, was very exciting. The Health Authority was very efficient in rolling out the vaccine to us, and for that I am grateful. It’s been such a challenging year - we’re all hoping this vaccine will save us from the misery of COVID-19.”

With cases of COVID-19 and the various new variants rising across the region, this first step towards conquering COVID is certainly welcomed.

Deepak Jaiswal, Home Proprietor for The Green Care Group added: “Knowing that the staff and residents in all our Homes are being vaccinated is such a welcomed relief. It’s been a tough 10 months which has challenged us all, in every way. Thanks to the outstanding display of dedication and resilience from our staff, each of our Homes have managed to contain the threat of COVID-19, whilst continuing to deliver high quality care. I am very proud, and grateful to all of them.”

News of the rollout is reassuring news for residents and their families, who can hopefully start to feel more positive about the future and look forward to being reunited with their loved ones once again.

Mr Styles, a resident at The Green Dronfield was more than happy to have the jab: “I feel a lot safer now. I am very pleased I had it.”

CeCe Green, Home Manager at The Green & The Callywhite Care Homes in Dronfield added: “The vaccine rollout is a huge step towards getting back to normality and we’re looking forward to a time when our residents and their loved ones can be together again. We by no means think we are fully out of the woods yet though, and we will continue to take full precautions as advised by the Government.”
