Tudor House Care Home held a ‘This Is Your Life’ party to celebrate their resident Ada’s centenary.
“Dancing, singing and laughing” is her secret to a long life.
The Magic Moments team worked with Ada’s family to create a book of memories and photographs chronicling some of the highlights of Ada’s life over the last 100 years.
Originally from Bloxwich, Ada worked as a welder, putting the rivets in tanks during World War II. After the war, she turned her welding skills to making bracelets and worked in a jewellery factory in Darlaston before becoming a dinner lady at Woodfield Primary School in Wolverhampton.
When asked what her secret to living such a long life is, Ada said: “Dancing, singing and laughing. Be friends with everybody and enjoy everything. Make an ordinary living, eat great food, have a wonderful family and somebody special to love. If you have all that, you could never want anything else.”
Ada’s family visited with gifts and watched as she opened her ‘This Is Your Life Book’ and a very special 100th birthday card from HM The Queen.
