Bullseye! A game of darts delights residents of Park Avenue

A game of darts hit the sweet spot with residents of Park Avenue Care Home this week!

This is a popular game with the people who live there, as it’s a familiar and simple game. It usually encourages some friendly competition amongst friends too, which is enjoyable for everyone involved.

Gladys, a Lifestyle Coordinator at the home decided to take around a velcro dartboard to residents living in the Peony Suite at the home so they could get involved from wherever they were spending time.

Kathleen who lives at Park Avenue likes to spend time to herself enjoying the simple things in life and regularly chooses not to take part in activities they host at the home. The team like to encourage her to get involved in games/activities, so she always has the option to get involved if she wishes.

When Gladys walked around with the dartboard, she asked Kathleen, who was sitting in a lounge, if she would like to have a go. Gladys was delighted when she said yes and happily held the board for her as she threw the velcro darts towards it. She had a great time getting involved in the game of darts and seeing what she could score.

It was great to see Kathleen engaging with activities at the home and the team hope she decides to take part in future games with her friends.
