World Religion Day

This week we celebrated World Religion Day. World Religion Day is celebrated every January on the third Sunday of the month. Its aim is to promote understanding and peace between all religions, encouraging people to learn about other faiths and their followers. The first such day was observed in 1950.

We had many discussions about what religion means to our residents, how is has affected their lives and how they have got involved in various religious activities throughout their lives which created a lot of very interesting stories.

We also tried diffferent foods that are synonymous with particular religions. In the pictures you can see residents tucking into Jewish favourite Halva which was made by our wonderful kitchen team.
