Dorset House residents embraced Food, Fun and Friendship by making their own pizzas to celebrate International Pizza Day.

Residents quickly got to work in the kitchen, rolling bases from made from yoghurt and flour before selecting toppings for their pizzas. When they came out of the oven, the pizzas were various sizes and each resident had their own pizza specifically designed to their liking.

Resident Dorothy, aged 99, said: “I love pizzas but have never made them myself because my husband didn’t like them.” Dorothy was pleased to finally make pizza from scratch, while fellow residents, Paul and Pat revealed that they had never eaten it before.

After a busy day in the kitchen, residents all enjoyed eating the pizzas at dinner and even had a go at a pizza quiz. Everyone was very surprised to find out that Norway is the country that eats the most pizzas!
