Twiddle Muffs needed

We are reaching out to our local Worcester, Worcestershire community and knitting groups who might be able to support our residents living with dementia in our Memory lane community.

Did you know that a Twiddle Muff provides a wonderful source of visual, tactile and sensory stimulation, and keeps hands snug and warm at the same time.

The twiddle muffs are knitted mittens or hand warmers, designed specifically for people living with dementia or other cognitive impairments. They consist of a muff or a pocket made of a soft material and are filled with various items that can be fiddled with, such as buttons, ribbons, zippers, or textured fabrics.

The twiddle muffs provide a sensory stimulation and comfort to our residents. And the muffs can also help reduce anxiety and improve cognitive function by stimulating the brain and encouraging engagement with the environment.
