Spanish Day celebration

Bridge Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare in Wombourne hosted a themed event to celebrate Spain’s National Day on 12/10/23.

At Bridge Manor care home, we believe it is important to celebrate the diversity of our community and provide opportunities for our residents to learn about different cultures and customs. Spain’s National Day, which commemorates Spanish legacy worldwide, the country's history, culture and traditions, was the perfect opportunity to do just that.

The event began with music from Spain played from 1930s all the way to 2023. We also did some salsa dancing and tried to do the cha cha, Lots of laughter. The home’s talented chefs created a special menu for residents and guests to sample Spanish culture, featuring watermelon gazpacho soup, followed by chicken and chorizo paella accompanied by traditional Spanish flamenco music.

Resident, Joan, said, “I tried watermelon soup I’d never had it before. It was delicious, and I love when everyone gets together; we’ve had a great day!”
