Both these instruments are amazing in their dynamic range, expressive possibilities and playability. They are also relatives to each other as musical instruments, in the “single reed instrument family” but there are differences. The saxophone is louder overall than the clarinet, and it is generally much easier to play. Many saxophone players learn the clarinet as a second instrument as the fingering is very similar. However, there is no doubt that what every instrument you play one requires a deep understanding of music and must be able to express themselves musically through their playing.
Therefore, today at Tyspane Care Home it was a pleasure to welcome Jonathan Phippen a talented professional musician. Jonathan played both the saxophone and the clarinet in the lounge. Jonathan displayed a strong sense of rhythm, melody, harmony, and phrasing. He definitely had a distinctive, appealing sound that set him apart from other players.
Thank You Jonathan.
