My 95-yo recently bereaved father moved from residential care to Tyspane in September.

His day to day experience is massively improved over the previous home in almost every way, as is mine as his primary contact.

Staffing levels and proficiency are excellent. Everyone always seems to be very

smily, friendly and helpful. When the occasional problem does arise (as it inevitably does anywhere), there is a genuine desire to understand the issue and to resolve the situation. (As the relative, this is enormously reassuring, as I know we won't get "fobbed off", and if he ever did feel that way, that the staff and I would work together to get to the bottom of it and sort it out.)

My father has found the food very much to his liking, and raves about the quality of the ingredients, the menus, and the cooking.

The physiotherapy team is a huge plus. Babs has got my father's puffy legs, ankles and feet down to a sensible size through targeted exercises.

I could go on, but out of room!

I came to visit my Grandfather on a Monday afternoon. I found him in the lounge enjoying the karaoke. It was so lovely to see the residents so happy. The staff that I met during my visit were all very friendly. The reception staff offered my a drink and slice of cake when I arrived. The Home has a very
welcoming feel and I can see it was the right choice for my Grandfather.

My cousin is being supported palliatively in this home. I recently watched a video on social media shared by my cousin regarding a trip to the beach that was facilitated by the home. I wanted to say that it was amazing to see and that I could see the joy that my cousin and her close family were able
to share in during this experience. It will be a memory that will be treasured forever by all involved. As a fellow Social Care Worker I want to commend you for what you have done. Keep making worlds for people.

My sister is living here due to a terminal illness. She is a mum to a 7 year old and we cannot fault the care from all of the staff.

My niece is treated like family, is regularly invited to join all the residents and knows most of the staff by name.

All of the staff have got to know my sister

as a person and you can tell they care about their residents deeply. Just yesterday they took my sister to the local Beach and a couple of the staff came along on their day off to spend their day with us.

I cannot recommend Tyspane enough, it feels like a huge family home.

This Care Home is brilliant the care my wife gets is excellent. The staff are very experienced efficiencies there nothing is too much trouble. The manager came and done our assessment so we have met the manager and the manager has been in and seen my wife on numerous occasions. There is free tea and
coffee and cake for residence and their guest. This is an excellent Care Home it's got in-house physio and the doctor goes and sees the patients once a week, which I think is amazing.

On a recent visit to the Tyspane Care Home in Braunton, North Devon to see a friend who was a resident, I was very impressed by what I saw. First Impressions.
The main reception area was very well set out making me feel I was visiting a hotel.
I was met by a member of staff who asked me who I had
come to see and asked me to sign in.
I was shown to my friend's room, which was very well set out and felt very homely, lovely and warm.
Having spent time with my friend I asked a member of staff if I could see the manager or assistant manager.
I was able to speak to the assistant manager who was so professional in every way and made sure that our conversation was confidential and that any concerns I might have had were explained. I also was able to speak to the senior carer looking after my friend that evening.
There was a really good feel to the home, all the staff are professional in their approach and look happy.
A well-run home, all credit to the manager, assistant manager and staff

Such a warm, friendly welcome from reception and being shown to the room, very comfortable, clean and bright, my friendly felt like a weight had been lifted from her.
Nothing was too much trouble, all the staff that came in her room told her their names. The manager came in to see if she was settled
and her needs all taken care of. A big thank you to all.
Kind regards.

I have co-power of attorney for a friend who has now been at Barchester Tyspane Care Home for five months. She settled in well and I found that the staff were always on hand to answer any questions we had on any subject. Her room is comfortable and well-furnished with a nice view of the garden. I imagined
that she would spend most of her time in her room because she values her privacy but, in fact, she has loved going to the lounge during the day and participating in the various social activities. On my most recent visit, there was an opera/classical singer who put on a fabulous show. My friend looked so happy and was singing along. The staff served food and refreshments during the performance and engaged with all the residents, singing or dancing with them and making it a really special event. This is the norm for the staff - nothing seems too much trouble and they look to engage at all times. My experience of the management, admin, reception and nursing/care staff has been extremely good.
Reply from Aime Bown, General Manager at Barchester Tyspane Care HomeThank you for writing this lovely review, it is always heartwarming to receive such positive feedback. We believe that the Activities Team at Tyspane are a wonderful asset always seeking to provide good quality and positive experiences for our residents, their families and friends and we are pleased to hear that your friend is enjoying the social life on offer. The home is continually subject to re-decoration and regular maintenance and we are currently undergoing a WOW transformation to some of our bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas which will all add to the resident's wellbeing. Thank you.

Mum was well cared for and very content during her stay at Barchester Tyspane Care Home. Having been in for a respite fortnight she soon realised that being home alone with intermittent carers was not what she wanted. She needed security and company which she had in abundance plus continually smiling
faces from the staff.
After approximately three weeks, Tyspane was referred to as home.
Thanks to all the staff.
Reply from Aime Bown, General Manager at Barchester Tyspane Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review our home. Respite is a great way to see if the home is suitable for a person's needs and we often find that people who may have been reluctant to come into residential care are pleased and surprised that they are no longer alone and they enjoy the security of being cared for and we are happy that this is the case for your Mum. Your positive comments regarding the friendly staff have been shared with the team. Thank you.

The staff at Tyspane provided outstanding end-of-life care to my father.
The home itself is set in beautiful well-maintained grounds that are fully accessible. It is clean, light and airy.
They went over and above to meet the needs of my father, in terms of personal care, eating and drinking and managing
his medication. All of the staff were warm, friendly, compassionate and welcoming. Though Dad was only there for the last few months of his life, he truly thought he was at home.
The communication with the nursing staff was excellent, and they were respectful, sympathetic and supportive of my family when my father sadly passed away.
I can not recommend or indeed thank them enough for all they did for my dad. We feel great comfort knowing that Dad was well cared for and comfortable until the very end.
