My husband, who is suffering from a form of dementia, went into Beaumont for 10 days .respite care and was extremely well looked after. The facilities and ambience of the care home are very good and offer a space for everyone whether sitting reading alone or mixing with other residents. Visitors are
also made to feel very welcome at any time of day or evening and we shall have no hesitation in using Beaumont's services again soon.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum loves it here! She always says she wants for nothing and she loves the staff. Personally I find the staff very friendly and approachable. The home is clean and tidy, with excellent facilities. It is always a hive of activity with things going on for residents all week. I feel the home is well run
and it is never a chore to visit. Mum is very happy and feels at home here. 10/10 from me.
Reply from Sarah Jones, General Manager at Barchester Westvale House Care HomeThank you for your lovely Feedback, your mum is a pleasure to look after and the staff adore her. From the moment I met your mum when she was in the hospice I knew she would be a perfect fit for Westvale, she brightens everyone's day with her kindness and laughs. We pride ourselves here at Westvale for creating a warm and homely atmosphere where our residents can thrive and be happy, which from your feedback shows we are fulfilling this. I will share your compliments with the team, as they will be happy to know the positive impact they are having with your mum.

I have been acquainted with Harper Fields from the time it was planned. Having had experiences of other care homes I knew how it offered not just excellent care but also much needed activities to keep residents occupied, so often missing.
I was in for respite after partial replacements of both knees.
All staff, without exception, were friendly , helpful and knew you by name.
As I had expected I was well looked after.
Reply from Hayley Wilkinson, General Manager at Barchester Harper FieldsWe would like to take the opportunity to thank you for you feedback following your recent respite stay with us, the staff will be pleased to hear that they have met your expectations. From the day Dad arrived almost a year ago now, every member of staff (whether it is the carers, nursing staff, cleaners, laundry or management) have all treated him with dignity and respect.
The care workers are attentive, professional and passionate about their job - for which I am extremely grateful.
I
am always welcomed with a smile and a wee chat from everyone when I visit, it really is a great place.
The rooms are all spacious and decorated lovely, Dad was able to bring his computer with him to be able to stay in touch with family and friends - fabulous.
It's a pleasure for me to visit him at Hilderstone.

Barchester Lancaster Grange Care Home

from Caroline A (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 10 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both parents-in-law joined the home early 2025 and the care delivered to my father-in-law up until his death was excellent and catered to his individual nursing needs well.
My mother-in-law is living a beautiful life with up to 4 daily activities including trips out, singing, art, talks, music, visits
from animals and children. The list of activities is absolutely endless and the activity leaders are so encouraging and caring. At home her dementia meant a cycle of little to entertain and engage her but at Lancaster Grange she is truly living a new and enlivened life. She enjoys the dining experience, has made many friends and her well-being has improved a thousand fold.

Barchester Westergate House Care Home

from Ian B (Son of Resident) published on 9 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After careful consideration we decided this was the best home for my Mother Lesley, and we were not disappointed with our choice, from the minute you meet Paul the manager and his team at the front of house the greeting you receive the minute you walk through the door on every visit was so welcoming.
Once you start to walk through the home you know you have made the right choice for a love one, the staff throughout the home are just magnificent, they keep you up to speed with any incident that may have occurred, but I had no concerns to my Mum's well being as they are so well looked after, I even got cup of tea and a biscuit on every visit.
My Mum sadly passed away at 96 but she couldn't have been in better hands in last years.
Ian
Reply from Paul Middleton-Russell, Senior General Manager at Barchester Westergate House Care HomeDear Ian,
Thank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. Thank you for your kind words and for placing your trust in us to care for your mother Lesley. We are grateful that you chose Westergate House and that you felt welcomed and supported from the moment you first visited. It means a great deal to hear that our team helped provide reassurance, comfort and compassionate care throughout your mum's stay. We are especially pleased that our communication with you and the warm atmosphere within the home gave you confidence that she was receiving the care and attention she deserved. Your comments will be shared with the staff team, who work tirelessly to ensure that every resident feels safe, valued and cared for. Knowing that your mother was happy and well looked after in her later years is the greatest compliment we could receive. Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for allowing us to be there for your mother and your family during such an important time.

A very enjoyable stay for my 2 week respite. I needed a peaceful surrounding when I came out of my hospital operation and Shawford Springs certainly delivered that. I've enjoyed joining in the activities and my visitors were made very welcome. The only thing that I think should be addressed is that
when the weather is extremely hot a fan should be placed in the room.

I could not wish my mum to be anywhere else.
The food also is to a very high standard.

Philip, Katrina and the team of carers at Tewkesbruy Fields have been amazing.
My dad has been so well looked after. The home is clean, comfortable and most importantly doesn't feel like a care home - it feels like a very nice hotel.
I can thoroughy recommend to anyone who has a family member requiring
care short term or long term. Thank you all so much for the care you have given.

Barchester Waterside Court Care Home

from Terry S (Respite Resident) published on 9 July 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have just enjoyed a most necessary 8-day respite stay at Waterside Court in June 2026. I'm 88 with a degenerate lumber spine with Parkinsons in for good measure, and a widower living on my own in Leicestershire. Choosing Waterside Court was because my daughter lives nearby in Wallingford, a closeness
that did my spirit good as well. Waterside Court is of a standard that one would expect of such a modern facility, and with the Barchester name behind it. A special feature is the Cafe by reception - brilliant.
A most impressive feature is the quality of the care given by the staff, warm, detailed, knowledgeable and sprinkled with empathy. I imagine the manager should be compliemented for this, breathing these qualities into the staff. I have already reserved a week's respite in December.
Just one worry for me - the ansence of a grab rail on the shower wall.
Reply from Clem Heriman, Senior General Manager at Barchester Waterside Court Care HomeThank you so much for your encouraging words for the team here. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your respite stay. Our Life Enrichment programme is unparralled and we continue to look for more ways to ensure everyone's individualism and their hobbies is reflected in daily activities provision. Thank you so much for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Barchester Washington Grange Care Home

It's not appropriate to specify a date. My friend has been a resident at Washington Grange for over 6 years. During that time he has been close to passing, but through the care and help from the staff, he rallied round and is now doing really well at 97. He is well cared for and often encouraged to
join in the various social events at the home.
I can't fault the care he receives and any concerns are duly sorted. Visiting my friend twice a week I have seen staff came and go, but all staff are attentive to my friend.

Everything we (my wife who was there for Respite Care + I) encountered was excellent. On entry, the welcome was immediate + warm. The staff took trouble in ensuring that the room was arranged to suit my wife's needs. During her week's stay, staff were caring, pleasant + attentive to her. The Care Home
itself was spotless, and well designed, giving a feeling of spaciousness, If one has to stay in a Care Home, this is the one to choose!
Reply from Georgia Baxter, deputy manager at Barchester Oak Grange Care HomeThank you very much for your kind words. I will ensure this is shared with the staff team here at Oak Grange. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent person centred care and I am glad to hear that your wife had this experience with us. Receiving feedback like this from relatives means a lot to us at Oak Grange. You are both more than welcome to come in and join us for a coffee and cake anytime and we look forward to seeing you and your wife again in the near future.

Laurely Bank has a lovely atmosphere and great staff. The staff make every effort to maker sure my mother is well looked after. Laurel Bank is a nice place to visit and I always enjoy my visits and interaction with the staff! Although its not an ideal situation for Mum being disabled the staff are great
helping her to cope - of course its not perfect but in comparision to all the care home's in our area its the best by a mile!
