This is my first visit to a care home, I felt there was a very calm happy caring atmosphere it was a kind feeling from all the staff, everyone seemed very happy.
I arrived at lunch time & everyone was having lunch the staff where very busy and kind.

From entering the 'Orchards' I'm greeted with warmth, care, empathy and compassion from reception staff, manager/deputy. I walk through highly secure corridoor to Bluebell unit where my end of life husband is being so very well cared for. All the staff I meet on route greet me with a smile and are welcoming.
Makes me feel cared for too. The area is clean, tidy and no awful smells. My husbands room is bright/airy/well kept. He was enjoying looking out at birds and change in weather untill his health decline. His care needs are extensive and met with compassion/empathy from carers and nurses. I have found all staff at Orchards fully commited to there tasks. I leve the Orchards knowing my husband is in safe hands

Dad has only been in this lovely home for a short time but is already settling well. The manager Nicky and all staff seem so caring , understanding and keen to learn all they can about dad. We as a family will always be so grateful he has been given a chance of life again after an horrendous few months.
He has a lovely room, taking into account his need for a quieter area.He is being encouraged to be as mobile as he can. He is now looking clean and smartly dressed, being encouraged to eat in the dining room with others, which he seems to enjoy and being offered stimulation and activities he enjoys.We are looking forward to enjoying the garden with him once the weather improves as this is one of dads loves.

Our experience with Orchard House has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my partner A arrived, it's clear that she is in a place of genuine care, professionalism & compassion.
Kim, Emma & the team go consistantly above and beyond. Their kindness, patience & attention to detail make
and enormous difference. Not only to A's comfort & wellbeing, but also to our peace of mind during this new experience for us. Every interaction is handled with warmth, respect, and clear communication, creating an environment that feels safe, supportive & dignified.

This was my husband Colins first time in respite and it generally went well. He did become confused, particularly with different staff coming and going. I believe the care he received was good. Clothing went missing but was found. I left bags for clothing to come home but these weren't used. I would
like him to have been encouraged to participate more in activities and to go out on trips that were organised. A first time experience we have nothing to compare against. Thank you.

From my initial telephone enquiry & viewing of the available room I was treated in a friendly and professional manner.
I was in respite care for 1 week following a total knee replacement.
The care and attention from all staff was excellent.
The food was excellent & although I ate in my room the
dining room was welcoming.
I did not take part in any activities.

My mother has been at Vecta House Care Home for two very happy years. The staff treat my mum with dignity & respect. They are truly caring. The planned activities are full of fun & laughter. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vecta House to anyone considering a move for a loved one. From the manager,

My wife Rita could not be in a more happy and caring environment which is a very comforting feeling. The staff are fantastic to Rita and my self and I am treated with as much care as Rita which make's my daily visits to Vecta House more bearable. My friend has been living here for the last few months and she seems very content here. You have a good many staff members who are to be commended for their attentive and caring attitudes towards the residents. I am very pleased at how well my friend has settled here at Vecta House.

I have been visiting Vecta House for over 2 years now and wanted to write this review as Vecta House and it's staff are superb. It is always very clean, the food is excellent and more importantly the staff there are all absolutely brilliant, in every aspect. I visit quite a few homes on the Island and
this one is the best by far.

We visit a resident who has had a stroke and is bedbound. Each time we visit we have found the staff really friendly and pleasant. The resident's room is really good - he is very comfortably looked after. Thank you. The family of the resident are equally appreciative of what you are doing for the resident.

Mum went in for a convalescence period to regain some of her strength and confidence following a prolonged period in hospital, she came out from Vecta far stronger and healthier than she went in, having been extremely well looked after.
We were less aware that Vecta predominantly deals with dementia
and therefore much of the camaraderie that mum was hoping for mainly came from the staff - but that was our fault, Vecta were open about what they did and hid nothing on our tour.
Mum (and dad, who was in to see her most days) really appreciated the loving attention that she received. Dad, a wheelchair user when visiting, was well accommodated and fully included at mealtimes and invited to any activities that were going on.
Staff were both respectful and fully attentive and any problems were quickly dealt with they are clearly there to do all they can to help. Thank you all

All care homes should be like Vecta House. All staff, including the manager and office are friendly, helpful, efficient and most importantly extremely caring. Thank you! My rating of very poor box under value for money is because I am paying £2000 per week, for someone who is probably hardly any trouble
and I care for him too, and it is more likely that other, more demanding residents are being funded - maybe - probably - at a third of what I am paying.

My mum was in Orchard and now my dad is after some minor teething issues he is now happily settled he loves the staff and the manager and is so happy he enjoys the activities now and seems to be fitting into her new life without mum. Thanks for making him happy.

Lovely atmosphere
welcoming coffee area ,lovely lounge, large bedrooms en-suite with nice furnishings. Hair salon which can be used by your own personal hairstylist
Great activities bingo musical events ,themed days ,quiz ,church services , Outings in a Mini bus
Smiley helpful care staff and
nurses always happy to update us on parents who have recently settled in so well . Making the decision to move them from their own home to a forever care home stressless as possible

I visited with a friend who had been at school with my sister-in-law, which was good for her. Recognised herself in a school photo.
Concerned about my sister-in-law's chestiness and spoke to nurse about this. Action and contact with the doctor is in hand. I hope the virus or treatment can soon start.
