I am very happy with the care my husband gets in the Barchester Briardene

He is well cared for always clean and tidy . The staff are wonderful all friendly and always available .to help. He has had a lovely day out on the mini bus . I only have positive things to say about The Briardene . He also loves the food .

My dad was in this care home for the past 2 years. Its was his 3rd home and can honestly say it was the best. Down to every single member of staff who gave him so much love & care and understood his cheeky little ways. Also we were all welcomed like we were all family. The full place was immaculate and dad was always clean & well groomed. Sadly dad passed away after a short illness but i will never ever forget the care & compassion we all recieved from every one of the staff! You really carnt go wrong placing your loved one in the care home because i for one slept easy on a night knowing he was in there being well looked after.

So a big massive thank you to each & everyone of you because you treat my dad with respect & dignity and i will miss you all

Overall Experience

I would like to acknowledge my gratitude and thanks to the staff of Briardene Care Home. Briardene has always gone the extra mile for the residents and their family members regarding care and activities. I was so happy to see my wife and residents enjoying visits from the miniature horse and the llamas. It brightens up everyone's day when people engage in activities for the mind and senses. Well done to Briardene, great teamwork. Thank you.

My Mum lived in the Billingham Briardene Care Home for around 5 years where she received the most amazing care. She had some complex and challenging needs but was always treated with the greatest of care, patience and respect.
Her room was spacious clean and comfortable - pretty much the perfect environment. The team invested so much time to really understand her and get to know the whole of her life from being a young girl growing up in York. They knew what she loved, getting photos of the places she lived or loved to help with engagement and conversations. The activity sessions were fantastic and many tailor made for Mum.

The care for Mum was amazing but equally the support for her family at all times was literally life changing. They took away the worries, the fears and the guilt of moving a parent into care. Over the years Mum was living in Briardene I probably spoke to all the staff who were some of the loveliest people you could meet and always had time for you. A huge thanks!

I would like to voice my heartfelt thanks to everybody. I am always welcomed with a friendly smile from arriving to leaving and always offered a drink,during my visits staff will pop in to see if we need anything. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm with a sense of happiness. The staff are all wonderful and everyone looks cared for. As for my aunt she is treated with dignity and respect and staff show sensitivity and dignity to her needs as she endures her very challenging dementia illness. Knowing your loved one is safe and cared for is a great comfort and I thank each and everyone of you here from the bottom of my heart.

My mother has been at Briardene for three years now and it's the best decision we made in order to meet her needs. The staff, as well as being kind and considerate , are so experienced and professional, which is rare to find these days.
I have seen a big improvement in my mothers health since she has been at Briardene, such is the quality of care and organisation of the home. She now has quality meals, her personal hygiene has improved, and she wears her own clean clothes at all times.

I can honestly say that due to the quality of care given by the staff at Briardene, my mother is living her best life and I can't thank the staff enough for giving her that!

I can only praise everyone at Briardene - from management nurses, support workers housekeepers and the two great handymen they are a dedicated and hardworking team.
My husband is entering his fourth year at Briardene and as he can't be at home it is the only place I would want him to be.
My family and I are happy and grateful for his care it exceptional.

The staff are always professional and friendly, they always give you a warm welcome, make sure we are all ok and will pop in during the visit to see if we need anything. Every member of staff that I have seen interact with my mam have shown compassion towards her.

My dear friend has late dementia and needs 1-1 care. I visit her regularly since she was placed at Billingham Briardene.

After visiting her at two former care homes I can only congratulate every aspect of care she is receiving with you. There really is no comparison, my friend is not able to communicate but we've been friends for 40 years I know her very well and know that she would if able to say a big thankyou to all concerned, I thank you on her and my behalf.

After another dip in my husband's health, the care and attention to his every need, as always, went above and beyond. Rather than risking an admittance to hospital, I knew he would get everything he needed in house. By January, he was stable, by February, his eating and weight had improved.
In May 2026, my husband will have resided in Briardene Care Home for 5 years. I can guarantee that is due, in the main, to every member of staff.

From Management to Maintenance, they are exceptional. I have sung their praises over the years to anyone who would listen and will continue to do so.

Every where is clean and cleaned twice every day .All staff are proficient and welcoming and pleasant and friendly. The whole building is safe and secure and well looked after. If you report a fault it is rectified as soon as possible if not immediately.

Absolutely first class, my mother is been at Briardene for two years now and as I live 350 miles away it's so good to know she is being looked after and cared for. The staff are amazing and so good to residents. I honestly cannot praise Briardene enough.

Overall Experience
Briardene Care Home is a consistently well managed, well run and friendly Care Home. Communication is open, all staff - both front facing, / back office and inbetween are wonderful - with so many skills between them and with the shared ability of being able to well look after residents with complex needs.
Staff know well the complexities of each resident, including my Mum, which means they are well versed in spotting behavioural or physical changes. Thus meaning they are able to offer early intervention where necessary.
There are activities organised, there is a wellbeing team and my Mum always looks clean, well groomed and she is encouraged to eat and drink plenty of fluids. Staff have even kindly assisted with calls , especially when I have called from overseas.
If ever there are any qu's or concerns staff / senior staff members are always on hand to advise or inform.

Fantastic Care Home! If your loved one is lucky enough to get a place in this care home then you can rest assured they will be well looked after and treated to the best care. My mum has been here for over 7 years and the staff are amazing! The care and love they give to her is above and beyond and this is also extended to our family. I can't thank them enough for the peace of mind it gives me.

We have nothing but praise for this care home.
CARE is the right word, everybody at this home care, not just for my mam but for all the family. The support and help they have given the whole family is immense, nothing was ever too much . Sadly my mum passed but even then the staff were still supporting us and so kind .
Mam was treated like a person. We always knew she was being cared for from the best, with knowledge and understanding of her needs. Based on our experience I would strongly recommend this home to anyone who has loved ones with advanced dementia.

The staff are always welcoming, friendly,, helpful and supportive.
Residents are treated by the dedicated staff with exceptional care, respect, dignity and patience.
The welfare and comfort of residents is a priority. Activities are varied and consideration is given to my husband's capabilities and interests.
Nothing seems to be to much trouble for staff. Any queries or concerns have been answered or acted upon quickly.

I can't thank the staff enough for giving my husband the care I can no longer give him.

Very happy with everything. My wife has been here since 2018 and I couldn't think of a better place for her to be. She is so well cared for in every aspect. I feel so welcome when I come and visit. It's home from home.
