Overall Experience

The reception staff were brilliant - putting my wife at ease wtih a cup of tea and cake. Admin was thorough and efficient, and all staff from cooks, cleaners, admin and carers were lovely with her and did their best to put her at ease if she became anxious or upset. I was impressed and grateful for

Overall Experience

I find the staff friendly, caring, knowledgeable and professional.
The only real criticism is the poor bedrooms, devor and plumbing.
Clothings ie socks disappearing even though they are marked up.

Overall Experience

Mum was in Glenroyd Blackpool for about 5 weeks before she passed away. The staff were kind and compassionate not only to mum but to us as her family as well. We have some lovely memories and photos of her time over the Christmas period. They offered her comfort and reassurance and she was well looked

after.

My mum came in for respite for 2 weeks. We found Sherwood to be excellent in every way, from the cleanliness, to the friendly staff, we felt like nothing was too much trouble. I could highly recommend Sherwood. We would definitely use again in the future.

Overall Experience

My mum moved to Glenroyd in August last year. It was such a hard decision to move her to 24 hour care, but wow did we make the right decision!
Mum is very well cared for, always clean and tidy. Her needs are definitely meet. The staff are amazing and my sister and I are so happy we choose Glenroyd

for mum. The activities that are offered are brilliant and everyone is included.

Overall Experience

I have been generally very pleased with care at Laurel Bank. Any issues have usually been quickly resolved. The staff are very caring and attentive and patient. My aunty enjoys the excellent food and likes to join in or observe many of the activities - They are of a high standard and varied. The home

feels like a family, hugs are frequent and staff give extra thought to how they work and what time they give to residents. Much as my aunty would like to live back at her home, she realises that the experience she gets at LB is far above average. I love having her nearby and being able to visit at any time.

Our mum is in here to rehabilitate after a rare illness the staff and the home are wonderful. We can't recommend enough. They can't do enough for you its warm and welcoming feeling very homely. They have a little therapy dog plenty of activities and interaction with staff and residents is super.

Overall Experience

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 5 years ago. It was always my intention to care for her by myself but it became too much for me. I decided to seek respite.
I count myself so lucky to have found Sherwood Lodge Care Home. She stayed there for 2 weeks. It was a superb discovery.
She received top

service from all the staff who kept her well fed and very clean. They also ensured that she received her many medications and that her Type 2 diabetes was controlled and monitored correctly.
I must also mention the excellent craft activities that are offered.
All aspects of care are well covered.
I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in similar circumstances.

Overall Experience

When my brother first arrived at Laurel Bank he found it very hard to settle, but with the help of the staff and the activities in which he was involved, he became less aggressive, thanks to the attention given by members of staff. It was pleasing to learn that he was more settled. On one occasion late

afternoon, I returned him to his room only to find that there was no bedding in place. On a further occasion he was sat in a lounge, only for me to see that very obviously, he was sat in his own urine - his trousers were very wet. Overall his experience at Laurel Bank was of the highest quality with only those two little blips. Returning to his involvement in activities those members of staff responsible for his care were superb with the attention and how it was given, even to the extent of making him smile on occasions.

Firstly, the young man Stephen that came to do a home visit was a lovely, kind and caring person. I can't speak more highly of him! In the care home, the staff were so attentive and caring. My mum, Marjorie, felt at ease in her surroundings, the food was lovely, and she really enjoyed her stay.

was a young man that really was good at his job. He was Indian, such a lovely guy that made sure my mum was taken care of with refreshments, etc. Fantastic job.

Mum spent a brief time at the end of her life at Sherwood Lodge and her care was excellent. Mum was included and supported in settling in. Overall excellent experience of care provided by carers and qualified staff. Professional and individualised to meet mums needs.
Excellent processes in place for escalating any issues, will prompt action if required.

My mother is in Barchester Sherwood Court, earlier this year my mother in law was cared for here. After having been in 5 care homes in Preston, this is undoubtedly the best. The furnishings might not be top notch but the care is outstanding, staff always willing to help and very cheerful. Food is lovely.

Can highly recommend.

What Can I Say? Fantastic! Wonderful! Perfect! Myself and my mother were not sure of the "Care home thing" when it became time to decide where my father (Harry) would spend the rest of his days? And we were given a few options one of these being Laurel Bank. We were so glad we chose them, from start

to finish my dad was treated as a person an individual and most importantly to me a Human Being! Although being bed bound he was included in as much as possible and myself and mum became part of this special family at a very difficult time in our lives always someone to talk to, kept up to date in his treatment and care and the things like birthdays Christmas and anniversary's celebrated in a very special way! When dad passed the care didn't stop we had and have had some special moments and memories in Laurel Bank from the Managers to domestic staff all very special and wonderful people.
Thank you so much for everything you did.
We will always think of you fondly Xx
