Overall Experience

My mum was happy to have her first care home experience & I originally felt reassured that my completely deaf mum would be looked after while I was away. I especially asked if Mum would have a TV with access to subtitles, as she is unable to hear the TV. I was told there was a TV, but there was no remote

when we arrived, so we could not put the subtitles on. We were told this would be remedied, but it was never remedied & Mum told me she felt isolated.

Overall Experience

My dad has been at Sherwood Lodge for around 8 weeks, and we are very pleased with the care he has received so far. He has settled in well and is clearly comfortable and well looked after.
The staff have been incredibly welcoming, polite, and genuinely caring in their approach, which has made a big

difference to both my dad and our family. He enjoys most of the meals, and we are especially impressed by how efficiently everything is managed - even down to how quickly his washing is turned around!
We feel reassured knowing he is in such good hands and are very grateful to the whole team at Sherwood Lodge.

Overall Experience

I was discharged from hospital, I was mobile but needed a "safe space" for a few days. Sutton Grange quickly completed all the paperwork and assessments. They were ready for me when I arrived. All the staff knew I was expected and as new staff came on duty they asked if I was "D". Everyone was friendly.

There was a a good choice of food which was well cooked and presented. The other residents were friendly. There were activities if you wished to join in.
The weather was good that weekend and so i spent some time in the gardens catching up on my reading. The bedrooms were as good as a first class hotel.
The best point about Sutton Grange are its staff - they are professional ,and caring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for respite care or a long term home.

Overall Experience

My stay at Sherwood Lodge was very good and I enjoyed it. I will come again. The only thing I was disappointed with was the quality of the food. For example, steak and apple pies had no pastry, the apple in big chunks. The courgette soup was bland. The fish and chips were good.

Overall Experience

Sherwood Court is an excellent care home. My sister is recuperating after a knee replacement operation and the care she has received is excellent. The staff are very caring and friendly. All her needs are catered for and she is very happy and relaxed. I would recommend Sherwood Court for anyone who

is recuperating from an operation. The standards of care are very high. Every need is matched. The activities coordinator is excellent. Manager is a real star.

A BIG THANKYOU to all the staff for treating our Mum to a lovely special 92 nd birthday on Friday 20th .My two brothers had travelled up for the day from the south of England to share the day too .From the decorations to the fabulous cake and the loving attention from the staff who were working hard

as usual in extreme temperatures but the atmosphere as always was cheerful and nothing was too much trouble for them .A really heart warming and an enjoyable day all round .As usual it was hard to leave her but we all felt she was in the best possible loving caring hands which is a massive relief so once again THANKYOU !!

Overall Experience

The care provided to my parents during 1 weeks respite was really good....all the carers were professional and I felt comfortable leaving my parents in their care.
The only possible area for improvement was the catering.....

Absolutely fantastic, genuinely caring staff. They worked so hard to make sure my dad had a happy and fulfilling life. They gave my dad an excellent service and helped him settle in and enjoy life when living at home was no longer possible. Moving to a nursing home was very difficult for all concerned

and Laurelbank really helped us through it.

Overall Experience

My wife has just recently been moved to Sherwood with mixed dementia. First impressions have been good. Staff are quick to attend when asked. The room is ok if a little small, but it meets her needs. I like the food being prepared on site, it is a big improvement from her previous home. I would prefer

to have 2 nursing staff, not one. There are a lot of residents for 1 nurse. The reception team are very good and I have plenty of chats with them. All in all, first impressions are good.

Overall Experience

I visit my father at Glenroyd atleast five times a week. The staff are all friendly, hard working,helpful and caring. The home is clean and the garden is fabulous.The food menu is well thought out, food is varied and tasty. The many events ensure the residents are stimulated and happy, a huge amount

of effort and thought is put into the parties, seasonal activities and exercise classes. The residents have a lot of fun and it's a joy to witness.Staff build good relationships with the residents and visiting family members. This ensures family can raise matters appropriately and with confidence. My father's room is comfortable and clean, furniture items (book case, coat hooks, photo frames etc) have been added since he moved in and reflect that the staff recognise his needs, likes and character. I strongly recommend Glenroyd and feel fortunate that my father is a resident.

Overall Experience

My husband stayed at Sherwood Court for 2 weeks respite care. During that time my husband had a few problems which the staff dealt with very well. They were always very friendly and helpful and professional, both with my husband and myself.
It's not an easy time when you need respite care and you're

leaving your loved one in someone else's hands, but I felt our experience there was a good one and I would use them again.

I just listened to the radio and heard about the celebrations for a 103 year old lady, and honestly, I hope whenever this day is thought about or spoken about, it's with nothing but pride. Laurel Bank & everyone that helped need to be just so proud of the work they put in and how they make a place for

residents to continue living their lives. I always say Laurel Bank is made of magic but I think this is a reminder to all, that magic is made at Laurel Bank. A place where despite the age, dreams still can come true. People would be lucky to have family or friends stay here. It really is so wonderful with great management, great staff & lovely residents!

Quite superb!

My Dad has been a resident at Dovedale Court for the past four years. It is such a fantastic place with the most caring and attentive staff.

The facilities are great with lovely gardens, rooms and communal areas.

The staff are amazingly professional but also loving and caring.

They look after the residents with dignity and compassion.

The activities are frequent and varied, with parties, singers, animals and trips a plenty. When they identify a particular passion, they try to fill it, taking residents, bowling or to bike events or gardens.

Dad has unfortunately had to move to a nursing home due to increased needs and the team helped find and vet a place, helped negotiate a room and have visited him at his new home.

We simply could not have managed the past four years without them.

All the staff have been superb and it feels unfair to single any of them out but three members of staff deserve particular mention.

Overall Experience

My Dad had been a resident at another local Barchester home but after a fall needed a great level of care.

We were recommended to see Sherwood Court and fell in love at first sight. We felt an immediate rapport and the Manager took considerable effort to find Dad a room.

Despite being 97, he

has settled in amazingly well and been made to feel very welcome. The staff have been exceedingly attentive and welcoming to him and us. The level of care is superb.

The facilities and grounds are really well maintained and the staff take huge pride in their roles.

When we arrived, Dad hadn't eaten for 2 weeks and has taken to the food immediately.

Friendly, attentive, skilled and loving. What more could I say !

A lovely home,
Standard of care good
Staff friendly and helpful in every way.
