What Can I Say? Fantastic! Wonderful! Perfect! Myself and my mother were not sure of the "Care home thing" when it became time to decide where my father (Harry) would spend the rest of his days? And we were given a few options one of these being Laurel Bank. We were so glad we chose them, from start
to finish my dad was treated as a person an individual and most importantly to me a Human Being! Although being bed bound he was included in as much as possible and myself and mum became part of this special family at a very difficult time in our lives always someone to talk to, kept up to date in his treatment and care and the things like birthdays Christmas and anniversary's celebrated in a very special way! When dad passed the care didn't stop we had and have had some special moments and memories in Laurel Bank from the Managers to domestic staff all very special and wonderful people.
Thank you so much for everything you did.
We will always think of you fondly Xx

My brother, John is 76 yrs. old & extremely intelligent. He has dementia and is blind so his needs are specific and he is unable to engage in many of the activities on offer. He is bored & frustrated and considers he is being kept against his will. I believe the staff work extremely hard to satisfy
his needs. As a vegetarian he enjoys special meals & his room is bright & spacious. We need to give him a role within his community to boost his morale & help him to feel in control. He also needs help with the switches on the T.V., piano keyboard, talking book & radio. These would all help to improve the quality of his life but a member of staff could help to switch on.

Respite care for 3-weeks, easy to organise and planned quickly, albeit very expensive. Carers friendly and helpful, took excellent care of Uncle's health and responded quickly to a medical emergency.
Rooms very basic but some do have ensuite toilet but feel money needs invested to modernise and upgrade
facilities. Think a TV and small fridge could be included for respite care.

When Mum decided to go into a care home, I had only one I wanted her to go into. Sutton Grange. My granddaughter and I sing in care homes around Southport, I feel that Sutton Grange is the cleanest and the staff are really caring.
After two weeks Mum decided to stay, she loves the staff, in Mums words
" They help me with things and look after me, look they painted my nail!"
To say I am extremely happy for her, is an understatement.
I cant thank everyone involved in the care home enough from cleaners to management, and all in between. The residents are fabulous too.
I APPLAUD EVERYONE Thank you for making it a painless change for Mum and for myself and other relatives, its a home from home.
Thank you all

Admitted for nursing care that quickly became palliative. Full and personally tailored pre-admission assessment of complex needs resulted in a smooth admission. Received first-rate personal nursing and end-of-life care. Communication compassionate and excellent throughout what was a challenging time

It has been a difficult process for me making the transition for my step-mum to move into care/nursing facilities but Shewood Court couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful.
The staff are lovely and friendly and from what I have seen they are very professional when dealing with residents.
My step mum is particularly friendly with two of the activities staff and loves all the entertainment.

Mum had been managed at home for 2.5 years and unfortunately her needs increased and she needed full time care to be safe. Choosing a home I found extremely difficult. Sherwood Court has looked after Mum since Dec 2024 and continues to do so. The staff are exceptional, experienced and personable. The
management brilliant, knowledgeable and help you navigate the complexities. They take the time to get to know your relative and pay attention to the little things that make the difference. The unrestricted visiting, allowing my dog to visit, never a problem to give and update all invaluable. You feel your relative is safe and well cared for, which is invaluable. Fully recommend this home.

It is difficult to find the words to adequately summarise the skilled and supportive care given to our mum during her short stay here. My mum was happy to have her first care home experience & I originally felt reassured that my completely deaf mum would be looked after while I was away. I especially asked if Mum would have a TV with access to subtitles, as she is unable to hear the TV. I was told there was a TV, but there was no remote
when we arrived, so we could not put the subtitles on. We were told this would be remedied, but it was never remedied & Mum told me she felt isolated.

My dad has been at Sherwood Lodge for around 8 weeks, and we are very pleased with the care he has received so far. He has settled in well and is clearly comfortable and well looked after.
The staff have been incredibly welcoming, polite, and genuinely caring in their approach, which has made a big
difference to both my dad and our family. He enjoys most of the meals, and we are especially impressed by how efficiently everything is managed - even down to how quickly his washing is turned around!
We feel reassured knowing he is in such good hands and are very grateful to the whole team at Sherwood Lodge.

I was discharged from hospital, I was mobile but needed a "safe space" for a few days. Sutton Grange quickly completed all the paperwork and assessments. They were ready for me when I arrived. All the staff knew I was expected and as new staff came on duty they asked if I was "D". Everyone was friendly.
There was a a good choice of food which was well cooked and presented. The other residents were friendly. There were activities if you wished to join in.
The weather was good that weekend and so i spent some time in the gardens catching up on my reading. The bedrooms were as good as a first class hotel.
The best point about Sutton Grange are its staff - they are professional ,and caring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for respite care or a long term home.
