Ouse View provides outstanding safe care for elderly residents and those with dementia. The care team is extremely professional and delivers care with warmth and kindness. Families are kept well informed and can easily access the home by phone when needed and visits are welcomed. We experienced end-of-life
care, and the staff could not have done more for us, providing drinks and snacks and continuous reassurance and comfort over many hours.
It is a modern, thoughtfully designed home with a 'home from home' feel in the furnishings and decor. The garden is also well designed with accessible decking and seating and mature trees that soften the views. The rooms have ensuite facilities with comfortable beds, armchairs and plenty of furniture for personal effects. The large windows provide good daylight and an outlook for the residents and everywhere is kept at a comfortably warm temperature. Dining rooms encourage a social atmosphere, and the food is freshly cooked with plenty of choice at each meal. Snacks and drinks are offered throughout the day. Housekeeping and laundry are also daily events delivering a high standard of cleanliness.

I try to see my husband twice a week with my granddaughter, and my son sees his dad at least once a week, and we always find him fine, he's happy to see us but doesn't fuss when we leave, so I know he's happy and not fretting about coming home. The staff are always ready to have a chat about him.

We're sorry to read of your experience whilst staying with us at our Mount Vale Care Home. We understand on speaking with the home, the refurbishment work was planned for a floor above yours, however during your time with us you hadn't raised this as a concern until you were at the end of your stay sadly. My father came to live at Boroughbridge Manor in August. The staff are amazing and no request has been too much. From ordering a bigger bed ( my father is tall), larger portions , swapping tv's so he can watch sport. The staff are all genuinely lovely and care about us as a family. The entertainment
team work hard to keep everyone happy. I would thoroughly recommend the home to friends for their relatives.

I was recommended to try respite care at Mulberry Court, following a knee injury abroad. The Deputy Manager was very helpful on the phone, and booking in was easy. I arrived at 9.30pm the following night, and had a warm welcome from the nurse and carers on duty.
I have spent two months in Mulberry
Court, and cannot praise it highly enough. The home is run to the highest standards, with clear leadership from the excellent Manager.
All the staff - managers, reception, nurses, carers, housekeeping, entertainments, chefs, kitchen, maintenance and gardening - are visible to residents, offering friendliness and help at every opportunity. The home feels like a large family home.
Residents are treated with loving care, warmth and respect. Smiling staff move cheerfully, quietly and purposefully around the home. I had attentive help whenever needed from the amazing carers. There is a lot of laughter too.
Everyone went out of their way to make my stay really enjoyable.

My Auntie came here for respite care & decided to stay. She is very happy in her new home. The staff are so kind, caring & professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. They treat each resident as an individual making them feel valued. I live a 6hr drive away so needed help from the manager, she

My mother's care at Boroughbridge Manor deteriorated over the last six years. Her room had become shabby and unclean. Help with her personal hygiene needs were not met. Bedroom furniture falling to bits, was not fixed for a long time meaning my mother could not access some of her clothes and the contents
of her wardrobe was disorganised. The home appears to be significantly understaffed and this undoubtedly effects the quality and safety of care that the home provides. My mother became increasingly unhappy and has now moved to a different care home. Do not be fooled by the all frills facade that greets you when you first enter the building. Money should have been spent on the grass roots care not appearances. I would not recommend this care home in its current state.

My mum has been at Meadowbeck for 18 months and I can't speak highly enough of the care she's received. Frankly, it's a hideous decision to put a loved one in care and I still struggle with that. But the quality of care my mum receives at Meadowbeck makes the decision bearable. The frontline care staff,
housekeeping staff, catering team, maintenance staff, managers, medical team and activity staff are ALL just wonderful - they have come to feel like family. My mum is happy and settled and feels safe and secure. All the staff know her and delight in telling me her antics as soon as I walk through the door. They genuinely care about her, and by extension, me and my daughter, and I will be eternally grateful for the skill, professionalism and compassion with which they look after all of us

My mother was a resident at Meadowbeck Care Home for five years, until her passing in October 2025. During that time, she truly thrived thanks to the wonderful care and attention she received. Meadowbeck has a warm, homely atmosphere with several cosy communal spaces - a comfortable TV lounge, a lovely
coffee and cake area, a smaller lounge for quiet chats, and a beautifully decorated dining room that feels more like a restaurant, complete with tablecloths and a welcoming setting.
The activities coordinator, is an absolute star. She always had something creative and engaging planned, ensuring residents were stimulated and happy. My mother made many friends - both among the kind, caring staff and with other residents - and we always felt she was treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine affection.
We are deeply grateful to everyone at Meadowbeck for giving her such a happy and fulfilling final years. I would wholeheartedly recommend Meadowbeck to anyone.

Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home

In 2019, my mother was resident at Threshfield Court. Towards the end of her life she developed dementia. Throughout her stay the genuine love and support given by all staff members gave her - & us, her family - huge confidence that her end would be one of care, peace & respect. Now my father has
also spent the end of his long life at Threshfield. We think the excellent level of care & support - both to him & the family - continues to be maintained. The warmth & sincerity of a caring staff was always present. It came as no surprise to find three staff members short-listed for Barchester Awards.
We would have no reservations in recommending Threshfield Court to any family considering the needs of their loved one; indeed, we have already done so. "Thank you, everyone" is so inadequate, but comes from the heart.
Reply from Millie Nicholson, Admin assistant/Marketing at Barchester Threshfield Court Care HomeThankyou so much Susan & Family for your kind words, both your Mum & Dad meant a great deal to all of here at Threshfield which we cherish forever. We wish you all the best and please do not hesitate to stay in touch! Love and best wishes from all at Threshfield Court.

Barchester Leeming Bar Grange Care Home

From initial engagement and assessment I found the manager approachable, knowledgeable and respectful. This gave me confidence about my mum going into the home. She supported my views and when there were challenges she rang me and communicated her thoughts. The staff are wonderfully, calm and respectful.
The activities coordinators provide 7 days of activities, unlike other homes my family have experienced in the past. Rooms are homely, clean and practical. More importantly my mum is clean, well fed, entertained, safe and happy. The nurse comes in once a week and addresses any health matters. All staff and carers, housekeeping staff, catering etc do a great job at keeping the residents happy and I can sleep knowing she is in good hands.

I cannot fault the care provided at Rivermead. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to make sure Dad is happy. All staff are caring and attentive.
Layla, Chloe and Justyna are brilliant, exceptional.
