Our aunt moved to the care home in July 2024 to be nearer to family. Auntie's evolving needs have been met fully and the home continues to provide great care. The range & variety of activities has been terrific. The environment is calm & caring and we remain very happy with our decision to bring Auntie
to Leeming Bar Grange.

My mum is happy, safe and secure at Leeming Bar Grange, the staff are all very cheerfull and treat the residents with respect, the room could be kept a little cleaner as some chairs/furniture does not appear to move to enable them to hoover.

My son is very happy living at Meadowbeck he would not wish to be anywhere else well cared for and seeing how happy he is puts me at great ease.

Since my mother in law has been in Mount vale, she has been extremely happy. The staff are really helpful, Louise has helped her to do lots of activities to keep her active. Tracy has been very helpful when doing her meals. When she has guests Tracy helps with the setting of the table and making sure
she has everything she needs. We are really grateful to Tracy for going above and beyond with her helpfulness.

After spending time in a hospice and moving in here 8 weeks later I feel much more settled feeling at home much warmer friendlier atmosphere.
Staff are very caring and helpful. Overall atmosphere is welcoming and communal making me feel involved.
Healthy and balanced meals always a good variety to
personal preferences.

Dad has been part of the Memory Lane community since 2024 following hospital discharge. They helped him regain his strength / mobility, facilitated his need to 'work' / have 'meetings' and relentless walking and nosiness, managing the conflict that causes sensitively.
They work with his 1:1 carers
reporting rare sub-par care so we can address it. They encourage Mum eating their lovely food with Dad. They facilitate his regular haircuts and podiatry and ensure he regularly sees the nurse from his GP practice and community dentist.
They ring to let me know about his falls and have referred him to the falls team even though Dad won't comply with any advice they give! They try to get him to stay still by feeding him and have moved his room so he is closer to the heart of the unit for closer monitoring.
As a family we are so thankful to Trudi and every single one of her team for their care and compassion to Dad, his family and friends. Not fair to single anyone out as all wonderful!

I can not thank Mount Vale enough for their excellent care of our father on Memory Lane. Every member of staff has a wonderful way of relating/caring with every resident - from a smile, to a handshake, or a cheerful smile/hello, a gentle way of getting him to sit him down or lie down on the bed. Belind,
kind lovely lady, shabhu, Justin, Monata, Susie, Shaun (maintenance - who coaxed a resident back into Memory Lane).The wonderful housekeeper, and all the carers and nurses who gently smile encouragement or kindly smile as you walk by, or kindly empathise with you and gently take over the intimate/personal care in a professional way so that their daughter/family don't have to. The grounds person/gardener who make the gardens so cheerful/relaxed. Sarah - for always organising lots of lovely activities. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful team. Thank you to you all your kind care, support & making it a very happy/safe place for all residents.

My son came to stay today @ Thistle Hill, to make this his forever home. He has complex needs but has been shown genuine care and empathy which bodes well for the future. He asked for the food he wanted and an effort was made to please him.
We have come to expect very high standards at Thistle Hill
as our father-law was here for several months before passing. He absolutely loved the food and care he recieved.
The new unit my son is in has beautiful rooms, lounges & a full time physio which is great.
I hope I can now relax a little myself thanks to Thistle Hill.

I visited several care homes looking for a short respite stay for my 98 year old mum. Boroughbridge Manor stood out with it's warm and kind atmosphere, friendly staff and creative decorations that were fun and interesting. Mum has returned a few times for respite care and I'm always impressed by the
genuine warm welcome we receive, the staff all knowing her name and chatting to her. I feel she is very well looked after, the room is bright and fresh and her comment on leaving is usually "it was all very good". Thank you to all of you for this wonderful care and support both to mum and me.

I went to visit an old friend at the Thistle Hill Care Home in Knaresborough this morning and was so impressed with many of it features and staff that I thought I would write a review.
All the members of staff I met were very very polite and helpful especially the nursing staff, the lady on reception
and the lady assistant manager. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble for the staff to benefit the patients and the visitors and everyone was looked after very well.
The buildings outside and gardens were kept to a very high standard and the premises internally were also maintained to a very high standard.
Having had parents who required nursing care later in life and having seen and been in many nursing homes over the years, the Thistle Hill Care Home was far and above the best I have seen.

In other care settings it has been made clear that mum was now their responsibility not mine and they alone would make any decisions regarding mum's care. This is not the approach at The Dales.
The nursing staff discuss any concerns with me and keep me involved at all time. It genuinely feels like
we are working together in mum's best interests and they remember that she is still my mum and still care about what happens to her.
Mum is very reluctant to eat and drink but the staff have gone to great lengths to find foods which will tempt her (usually ice cream and bourbon biscuits). They have endless patience encouraging her and tempting her to eat. Mym could not be getting better care.

This is a very nice well maintained care home that is always welcoming & friendly. I cannot praise enough not only the care that my father has received from the lovely staff here but also the care & support that my partner & I have felt from the manager & her staff. Outstanding.

Dad wanted to go to Thistle Hill because he came from Knaresborough. He was on end of life, & the care & support was 5 star. The support to my sister & myself was fantastic & feed us cake. Wonderfull caring place
