Ouse View is always a pleasure to visit. Very Welcoming. Staff pleasant + helpful. Plenty of places to sit + chat in a very friendly and comfortable environment. Love everybody's smiles and Hello's.

My wife sadly is unlikely to return home but I can relax in the knowledge she is looked after like family

Chef was on holiday for 3 days and food was poor but once he came back the food was excellent for the next 5 days I was ill for the last 2 days and suffered a bang to my head I was so well treated and everyone was lovely. Staff 5 STAR

The rooms are a little bit on the small side not giving much room for personal furniture but very clean. Bathrooms are wet rooms and very functional and clean but again quite impersonal. I am sure we can add things if we asked.

My dad stayed at Highfield for a period of 3 weeks respite while I was on holiday. He normally lives alone and thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt by the amazing food on offer, the lively banter and excellent care provided by the staff, and the games and quizzes which kept him engaged and involved. He met and mixed with some lovely service users and was invited to return for fish and chip Fridays to keep him connected with the service users and staff. The room he stayed in was beautifully presented and immaculately clean and the care he was given was appropriate, thoughtful and not intrusive (for someone quite private and independent). He will no doubt be back for short visits, respite stays and he would certainly consider this as his future' home' if he decides he no longer wants to live independently. Thanks to all the lovely staff who made his stay so enjoyable.

My father has been a resident at Threshfield Court for several years and we have always found that the staff team have looked after him with great care and respect, whilst also being supportive of us as his family. The care home is always very clean and the food is of good quality and well presented.

Very friendly cheerful caring staff always polite, always made to feel welcome and kept informed, involved invited to events and activities that goes on. My husband especially enjoys the curry nights with a beer. Very helpful with his tv, able to help ourselves tea lovely coffee and cakes. Residents and families are always made to feel included. I appreciate how I am always kept informed regards to my husbands well being and very well cared for. Always kept clean room.

The food seems very good and the activities are very good with lots going on and many different activities to do

After looking at many homes in the area this was by far the best. The staff - and this includes absolutely everyone have been fantastic both for my mum and also for me as an emotional daughter!! The activities team are over and above fabulous and the whole place is exactly what would you want for your loved ones.

My husband who has Alzheimer's went into Boroughbridge Manor firstly for respite care but is now a permanent resident. He has settled well & although he doesn't say a great deal he seems happy & content. The staff are all caring and approachable, special mention and thanks must go to Alex & Adi. I feel confident that my husband is getting the care he needs. They have a varied programme of activities including trips out for those wishing to join in. The open visiting regime of the home is also good.

I have been a temporary resident respite care after a bad fall. I have visited friends here and I knew it was a good place, then and it still is now. The whole team work so hard to make sure you are happy. I had an excellent room, very clean. The staff are excellent making sure you are safe & happy. The meals were good & my clothes were washed regularly to a high standard. The staff made time to listen, if ever I find myself in a situation where I need full time care this would be my first choice.

My father came to the home from hospital 7 days ago. I have been v impressed by the caring attitude of everyone in the home. They already know my father as a person and understand his idiosyncrasies. For instance he is rather a fussy eater but they have taken it all in their stride. He inevitably found transitioning to full time care a challenge but the staff have helped him settle in remarkably quickly. I have no negative feedback!

Boroughbridge Manor is a fantastic home. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Today whilst visiting my father I was asked if I would like to have tea ( which looked delicious). The staff all care about the relatives, not just the residents. I'm very happy with the standard of care.

All staff are very caring understanding and friendly. I know I can approach anyone with concerns and questions at any time. Regular activities where relatives are encouraged to attend. Overall The Dales has a very homely atmosphere.

When my father suddenly and unexpectedly needed to move into a care home in May 2026, The Dales in Draughton became our immediate savior. From the relaxing initial interview, the family were given the confidence and assurance that this was a lovely, clean, caring and professional environment. Set in a beautiful small hamlet and valley, parking is easy and we always receive a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The rooms, lounge and restaurant are invitingly set out, and it is a pleasure to visit. Equally, the family receive constant updates on my father's health and the numerous social activities taking place (which we are also invited to attend). My father was the sort of man who never wanted to live in a care home, yet he is truly happy to be here and has made many friends with residents and the staff. Most importantly, he feels safe, secure and professionally looked after. Thank you.

This care home is better than any other care home I looked around. I like living here. Very wheelchair accessible for people that need it. All staff members are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you. There is always something going on and I especially like the minibus trips.

I highly reccomend the care home.

Dads care has been excellent. Staff are very caring and have taken the time to get to know his individual likes and dislikes. Following his recent illness they have really excelled themselves. The care and attention they have shown my mum and myself has made a very stressful time easier. Sophie has shown us extra care on one particularly stressful day. The Barchester Dales Care Home is a truly hidden gem in the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Beautifully decorated and modern inside with a gorgeous restaurant with a daily menu board. The staff go out of their way to give the residents any food they fancy, which is brilliant for a very fussy eater such as my mother in law. The care home general manager Roisin is absolutely the best, friendly, great sense of humour and brilliant at getting the very best care for your loved one. The carers will just pop in to my mother-in-law's room just to say hello while passing and her face lights up when she sees them, as she now knows all the familiar carers faces, an important thing for a dementia sufferer.The staff ratio/residents is great and they really do have the time to care for your loved one properly and they take the time to get to know all the relatives. Lovely bright rooms and lounge. I can highly recommend The Barchester Dales Care Home enough for your loved one. A fantastic home from home.

The care my wife received in her time there was wonderful, the team were just brilliant, very attentive to her needs and the specific care she required. I would also like to thank them all for the support they provided to me at a difficult time - I was made so welcome by everyone
