Overall Experience

My first stay at Hunters was in 2004 related to respite care after a hip replacement op. It proved to be an excellent experience and therefore after a heart attack in June '26 I had no hesitation to return for an extended period of respite care. I can only highly recommend this care home to others.

Review of Barchester Ashchurch View from S C (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum was a resident of Ashchurch View for almost 18 months after having two strokes. She was so happy there, despite saying she never wanted to go into a home. From the day she arrived staff went out of their way to make her feel safe, comfortable and content. Within 2 months she was back on her feet, eating meals with the other residents, meeting new people and joining in the whole range of activities offered by the home. Sadly mum went into heart failure just a few weeks' ago and her decline was very rapid. Throughout her end of life mum was treated with dignity, compassion and respect. Visiting her during this upsetting time was made bearable because of the staff who I know did everything they could to help mum. I visited just an hour after she had passed away. I am so glad I did. They had dressed her in fresh pyjamas, washed her and brushed her hair. There were flowers in the room. She looked so peaceful. That is such a happy memory for me. Thank you.

Philip, Katrina and the team of carers at Tewkesbruy Fields have been amazing.
My dad has been so well looked after. The home is clean, comfortable and most importantly doesn't feel like a care home - it feels like a very nice hotel.

I can thoroughy recommend to anyone who has a family member requiring care short term or long term. Thank you all so much for the care you have given.

Review of Barchester Tewkesbury Fields Care Home from Ian B (Son of Resident) published on 26 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
My mum has been in Tewkesbury Fields for 2 months. The facilities are excellent, a kin to a 5 star hotel. The staff are v. friendly & extremely helpful. Within days most seemed to have picked up my mum's name.

The daily menu is excellent. Good choice, fresh produce & v. varied. The chef puts a lot of thought into the menu. Activities there is a sheet produced weekly, advertising the activities but my mum doesn't seem aware of whats happening. Is there a lack of communication here between staff & residents?

Overall Experience
My husband died here two years ago - I would not have planned this but I have memories that he was happy here.
The care & comfort has been exceptional & I have benefitted from the staff's knowledge and expertise and kindness shown in every form. For example, I longed for fresh fruit & it was found. The outdoors always beckons me & so a bench was placed under a tree & this was accessible & within my mobility.
To have access to a hairdresser & receive foot care has been a bonus, so too the social amenities offered.

All this has benefitted to my speedy recovery.

My aunt has been very well cared for at Moreton Hill Care Home. The staff are friendly, patient, and always willing to help, and it is reassuring to know she is in a safe and supportive environment.
The home is clean and welcoming, and there is a good atmosphere among both staff and residents. Communication with families has also been very good, which we really appreciate.

We are grateful for the care and attention she receives and would happily recommend Moreton Hill to others looking for residential care.

On 8 April, my brother and I wanted to organise a birthday lunch for my father who is a resident. As it was a lovely sunny day we wanted to have the lunch outside, we also wanted to bring our own food. The head chef was really helpful in allowing us to do this, including keeping the food warm before we ate, rearranging the table location and being around to check all was ok. The waitering staff were similarly helpful and professional, through out, as was the person on reception. There is a general sense of nothing is too much trouble. Thank you to Ciprian, the Head chef and the whole team!

Since transferring a week ago to Badgeworth Court from another Barchester care home (for family reasons), my Mum , aged 91, has received nothing but compassion and kindness. The day I came to visit and my husband's bed had been moved to a different position (he was apparently, always trying to get out of be). He wasn't too pleased and neither was I. I went to speak to the manageress, who listened sympathetically, considered my request that the bed be returned to its original position; and then immediately called the maintainance man and then herself supervised the removal of my husbands bed to its original position.

I was looked after really well and all the staff were caring without being intrusive: nothing was too much trouble for them, e.g. they checked you for things such as, meal times, social activities, your general demeanour etc.

I fell down whilst walking in the grounds and returned with some nasty grazes to my arms and nose. U was spotted on my return, and nurses met me in the office and cleaned me up, much to their pleasure!

During the week I was well cared for. Three three course meals a day (if required) plus morning coffee and afternoon team.
All the staff whom I encountered were caring, thoughtful, and ready to meet my needs.

Food very good on the whole - just one meal when the meat could have done with more cooking (and the residents told the chef so!!)

My father in law has just spent two weeks respite care at Barchester Tewkesbury Fields and we were extremely impressed with the whole experience. The bedrooms, lounges, dining room and surrounding area were wonderful. The whole team, from manager to the lovely young lady who does a brilliant job in the laundry, were amazing. You are always greeted by the friendly, helpful and supportive staff at reception. 'Service with a smile'
He really enjoyed all the meals and was extremely happy how the dining area was like a restaurant. Excellent service and at set times.
Visitors are always welcome at anytime and the residents are encouraged to get involved with all the amazing activities.

He is looking forward to staying at Tewkesbury Fields again.

It was a pleasure to visit my step mother this week at Barchester Ashchurch View. This was the first time I have been there, and I was singularly impressed by the staff and the quality of the care. The staff were very helpful and even gave us a cup of tea whilst we waited for my step mums personal care to be completed.

The room my step mother was is, was spacious and clean. My step mother was happy and content in her world despite suffering from dementia. I compare this to the care home (in Liverpool) that my father spent the last few years of his life, where the space was small and dark and the staff clearly overstretched. In comparison, Barchester Ashchurch view scores way, way higher. I'm very glad that my lovely step mum can spend what is left of her time so well looked after.
