I wanted to say how clean and clean smelling the home has become since the new manager arrived. The residents are always clean too - I see this as a way of respecting them and caring for them. My Mum is in Memory Lane and all the staff are lovely.

A well run establishment

My father has been at Lakeside Care Home for 6 months, and he is very happy there. Before he moved, he was isolated in his home; now he has many social interactions every day. The care team are all friendly and efficient, and Andy the manager is very involved with all aspects of Lakeside's day-to-day running. I have found everyone to be responsive and very welcoming.

My mother has been a resident of Lakeside Manor since September 2025. I am so impressed with the social, physical and mental health care my Mum receives. The atmosphere is very welcoming, afternoon activities are engaging and the staff are excellent. The building itself is lovely especially the patio on a warm sunny day. It gives me such peace of mind knowing she is so well taken care of.

My mother who passed away on 27th Jan 2026 has been a resident in Lakeside Manor Care Home for 3 1/2 years. The care she received from the staff was excellent and I will be eternally grateful to them giving me peace of mind as to the way they administered her care, nothing was never to much trouble and I was always kept informed of any health issues she may have had, and lastly when it came to end of life care it was a pain free and peaceful end to life for my mother and were very kind and compassionate to me.

Mum has settled in well over the year and I am confident she is being cared for, Andy the manager and all his team are always on hand should I have any queries and they have built a lovely atmosphere in the care home. Overall I feel mum is in safe and caring hands with Andy and his team.

There is still often a "smell" in the corridor leading to her room.

I am very happy with the care at Lakeside Manor

My dad was only in Lakeside for a couple of weeks respite so we had a fairly limited experience. Andy and the team welcomed him and made his transfer in to the home from hospital easy. The staff were great with him and really tried to help him in very difficult circumstances.

The care, empathy and compassion towards residents and visitors shown by Andy the Manager is very reassuring, knowing that he is at the helm is very reassuring that your loved ones will be cared for and nothing seems to much trouble. Staff are very welcoming and attentive when needed.The day room is very spacious with some activities. The dinning area is very well laid out giving a restaurant atmosphere which feels very nice for residents to enjoy. The tea and coffee facilities for visitors is also very welcoming.

The team have been looking after my wife for 6 months. She has advanced Dementia and I am very happy with the manner in which they care and manage my wife's condition. All touch points from Reception through care to nursing are excellent. The management are friendly and caring. Any clinical emergencies are handled professionally and with the urgency they require.

The building and facilities are very clean and inviting and all visitors and family are treated to a five star service and welcome.

I sleep well at night knowing she is well cared for.

Would recommend to others

Smile. Dad has settled in and is being very well looked after and he is enjoying the food and view of the large pond from his balcony. The staff from top to bottom are very caring and will support all the family as best they can. All in all we are very happy for dad to be at Lakeside.

Each staff member is always happy to assist and go above and beyond.

I am a brother-in-law and I look after her affairs and I think she is well looked after and I know she is going good and some days she ok some days she not and I know she loves guests and thats alright by me.

Mum has now moved into a room with a sunshade. She can now see out of the windows without feeling hot because of the sun beaming in. Mum now speaks more, commenting on the trees, birds, lake, weather and so on. It has made a huge difference to see the outside world. So thank you to the manager. Barchester, please spend money on sun shades, it'd make a difference to residents well being. Also, please provide summer uniforms to carers, hot and bothered staff results in lack of patience.
