There were not many people in residence I could converse with consequently I felt isolated. The staff though were very friendly and talkative.

She appreciates the attention she receives from the carers.

The carers are always excellent and profesional and always very helpful.

We cannot praise the team enough, from the carers, cleaners, maintenance, activities etc. Everyone goes above and beyond to look after my mum and make her life worthwhile. They all show endless kindness and compassion in what has been a very difficult time for our family. Sarah has been a great comfort to Mum and Jenny & the activities team are amazing and include Mum in trips when possible. Thank you all !!

I always feel very welcome when I visit my mother.

The staff are friendly,warm and will stop to speak with you.

They have a range of activities for all residents, even those residents whom are bed bound.

All staff are welcoming, the residents are all treated equally and with dignity and respect.

The activities that are held for the residents are varied and interactive.

Residents rooms are spacious and cleaned daily.

We cannot thank the care home and all the staff enough for the care, patience and kindness they showed my mum during her time there. Mum could be a challenging and difficult person at times, but the staff always treated her with dignity, compassion and genuine warmth. They went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable, cared for and supported right until the end. We will always be incredibly grateful for everything they did for her and for our family.

Understanding of Mum's needs and nothing was to much trouble. My brother and I have no worries at all our mum is in the right place. Her problems will get smaller staying here and I hope she will make new friends and enjoy herself as well as getting better.

My father recently left Bayleaf. He has full capacity. For the first half of his time at Bayleaf, we were satisfied with the care he received. However, over time, my father's medical and care needs evolved, and he suffered more with chronic pain and reduced mobility. As a family we became very concerned about deteriorating levels of care, which resulted in my father feeling increasingly isolated, depressed and distressed. Our concerns were not taken on board or resolved by management, so we took the difficult decision to move him to another home. Most of the carers and staff at Bayleaf are friendly and seem to genuinely care about the residents. We were made to feel welcome as a family during visits. However, we felt that some of the carers were rude, unfriendly and dishonest, forgetting that residents are vulnerable and always deserve to be treated with respect. Finally, Bayleaf needs to urgently improve its catheter care as my father suffered unnecessarily due to inadequate training.

I decided to leave Bayleaf as I was no longer treated with respect or dignity, which affected my mental health and wellbeing. Barchester must do better by all its residents who are paying a premium for care.

She has involved my friend in the activities she thought he would enjoy and has given me daily updates as to how he is settling in.

My mother was a resident for 8 years and the level of care she received throughout was exemplary. Mum initially stayed in the residential wing but as her health deteriorated she moved to the nursing wing. Her care and support were tailored to meet her needs at all times. She enjoyed day trips/activities in the early years and we often had a coffee/catch-up in the 'cafe' within the home. The support during the challenging period of the Covid pandemic cannot be faulted. Mum received high-quality care in the nursing wing and staff went above and beyond to ensure mum was comfortable. Questions or concerns I had were always treated promptly and compassionately. Mum's end-of-life care was managed with love, dignity, and kindness. In a world which sometimes appears to be full of cynicism and division, the staff are the very best of humanity and, in my eyes, true heroes. I will be forever comforted and grateful for the wonderful staff who are the beating heart of the Braeburn community.
