There were many activities on offer and although he didn't fully involve himself in a lot of these, he was often taken out for rides in his wheelchair, as he liked to know
He enjoyed the food, and always had second helpings of dessert. His room was well maintained and always clean.
In his final days, the staff were very attentive, not just the care team but hospitality, maintainence and kitchen staff were always popping in. They were all very supportive.
The Management team were fantastic at helping us navigate next steps following his passing. They were all very respectful and treated Dad with dignity at every step.

Thank you for your review. Were sorry for the experience you had with our Werrington Lodge Care home and that you found the staff did not display empathy and compassion during this time. The General Manager has held reflective sessions to ensure that staff truly understand your experience. Guidance and supporting resource for families and loved ones will be displayed in our homes in the near future. We also encourage End of Life and Palliative Care champion roles in our homes wherever possible to further support and enhance the whole teams understanding and awareness of standards we strive for. As her health declined and dementia became more challenging, she moved upstairs to the nursing wing, where the standard of one-to-one care was exceptional. Sadly, she passed away at the beginning of September, but the staff managed her end-of-life care with dignity, love, and kindness. An outstanding example of what the "care" in "care home" truly means.
Every one of the team - nurses, care assistants, reception staff, activities coordinators, volunteers and maintenance staff, showed her kindness and engagement every single day. My sisters and I are deeply grateful. Thank you all, you are amazing!

Dad was discharged from Hospital & arrived worried for his safety and very anxious of his surroundings.
By the end of the first evening, the team had managed to reassure him and get him settled
Since that first day he has gone from strength to strength. His diabetes is under control; he can walk with just a stick & enjoys socialising, playing cards & Dominoes.
He has regained his interest in Bingo & thoroughly enjoys his wine and cheese tasting afternoons.
