My mum went in originally from hospital as respite with the hope of going permanent. Mum is now permanent and although at first she was not happy to be leaving her home, understandably, she now seems to be settling in and even enjoying it. She loves the activities and the food (which she would not entertain at home or in hospital). I have not yet met a member of staff who is not pleasant and kind. They are all so lovely to mum and encourage her to join in with things. From the minute we walked in the door to look around the home we have been made to feel welcome. We are continuously told this is mum's home and we can visit whenever which is great. Mum told me yesterday that it is nothing liked she imagined it to be like and she now feels safe and looked after. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the relief I have knowing when I am not with mum there are lovely people looking after her.
Ken stayed here for a month's respite care. He enjoyed his stay and made friends. HE felt safe and had opportunities to join in the activities. He met old friends and made new ones. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Friendly, warm and welcoming reception staff, always ready to help you on your way to the resident or with drinks. Carers seem warm & competent. Home is immaculately presented. Plenty of activities to keep residents engaged and entertained. Great coffee & cake!"
His dining experience is always of a good standard
The home organise various activities throughout the year which involve the family should they wish too attend
End-of-life care requires not just clinical attention but also kindness, reassurance, and attentiveness. I hope the home improves training and policies so families receive the guidance and compassionate care they need during these critical moments.
Thank you for your review. Were sorry for the experience you had with our Werrington Lodge Care home and that you found the staff did not display empathy and compassion during this time. The General Manager has held reflective sessions to ensure that staff truly understand your experience. Guidance...
After some difficult past periods, with general managers that affected patient care and staff moral, a new G.M. was appointed some 12/15 months ago; and the difference she has made has been profound! Staff moral has improved above all recognition! Staff are hard working and obliging and residents wellbeing has improved considerably with the appointment, a little while ago, of a dedicated activity lady, who comes up with innovative ideas and shows care and compasion to all residents. A well run care/nursing home - well done to everyone!
Werrington Lodge is a wonderful place. The staff are all lovely. The care shown to my mother in law was fantastic. When we first visited Werrington Lodge, we thought it had a wonderful caring atmosphere. We were very relaxed knowing my mother in law was being so well looked after in such a wonderful place. Our thanks go to all the staff there
Very clean/tidy, very relaxing, all staff very helpful and friendly, lovely room, nice bright, clean. The Werrington Lodge is a very welcoming place to visitors and those just coming to stay as rest bite.
Thank you for your kind words! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Werrington Lodge. Creating a clean, relaxing environment and providing friendly service is our top priority, and we're glad that resonated with you.We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon.
My wife's mum stayed a week on respite over Christmas and everything went well, as always, as this is the 6th time she has had respite there over the past 3 years. Far better than any other place she has stayed, and the excellent staff know her well and deal well despite her English being very limited and dementia advanced. Due to those limitations, she has not been able to really take part in activities, though we have seen they have a lot. Always has done very well there. They also keep the facility clean, which we have not seen in some other places.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear that your wife's mum had another positive experience during her respite stay with us. It's wonderful to know that our staff's care and familiarity with her make a difference, especially in light of her challenges. We truly prioritize...
Always go in weekly to see my nana and take her over the reception side for tea and beautifully made cakes made by the chef. The brownies are delicious and shortcake is the best. Think more activity would be good.
Thank you for your lovely review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoy your weekly visits with your nana and that the tea and cakes are a highlight. The chef will be delighted to know the brownies and shortcakes are favourites! We appreciate your suggestion for more activities and will definitely consider how we can enhance the experience for our residents and their families.
The staff are amazing - always cheerful and helpful. Lovely atmosphere in the home and very welcoming.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Were thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the cheerful atmosphere and found our staff to be helpful. Creating a welcoming environment for everyone is our top priority. We look forward to seeing you again!
A brilliant care home, from the cleaners to the catering staff to the careers and nurses, so loving and caring, always with a smile, you came out the home with a sense of calm knowing they are being cared for. We, as a family, felt like their family, we had support and love from every member of staff and we are so grateful for them. My mother-in-law loved being in there which made us so happy, we sadly lost her but will be going back to see the staff there as they are all so amazing and now part of our family. We couldn't have wished for her to be anywhere else in her final days, they are so amazing.
Thank you so much for your beautiful and touching review. We are truly honoured to have been a part of your mother-in-law's journey and to have provided the care and support that you and your family needed during such a difficult time. It's wonderful to hear that our team made such a positive...

My nan spent the last few months of her life in Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home, with having Stage 4 terminal cancer and dementia. As a family, we are so grateful to all the amazing staff at Werrington Lodge for looking after our loved one as brilliantly as they did. To the chefs, the nurses, the cleaners, the carers, events coordinators and the people greeting you at reception. Every single one of them work in this care home purely because they all truly care for these people and it shines through every day. I haven't regretted for a day that I did wrong putting Mum there. She was only here for three weeks before passing away but they made her last few weeks what we asked for which was calm, comfortable and pain-free. I applaud you all, you all work tirelessly 100% and what a wonderful team you all are, pulling together and helping each other out.

I was very unsure of how the care home system worked but the lady from admin and the manager were very supportive from day one. The admin lady, with her wonderful smile and empathy, managed to put me at ease and explained everything as we went along. Every time I've visited my father, I've noticed the manager speaks and greets everyone - staff, residents or family. These two ladies are one of the reasons I picked Barchester Werrington Lodge for my father. The home is spotless and the food smells delicious. I haven't tried it but I have had one of the delicious shortbreads in reception.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that our admin team and manager made you feel supported and comfortable from the very beginning. Their empathy and attention to detail are truly what set Werrington Lodge apart. We're also glad you noticed the warm atmosphere - our...

My husband is a resident and as for the past year, he came to Barchester Werrington Lodge Care Home unable to walk or eat, was tube fed and was very poorly. Now, he can walk, eat properly and that's thanks to all staff at the lodge. His clothes and room are very clean. The staff have time to care for all residents and my husband is very happy, he has been made ambassador.

Hi there my name is Nancy, I am the General Manager here at Werrington Lodge. I look forward to welcoming you into our home.
My name is Nancy Simeon, and I have 26 years of experience working as a nurse. I relocated to the UK in 2003 and completed my nurse adaptation course at a care home in London. Since transitioning as an overseas nurse and receiving my NMC pin number, I have never looked back and have worked exclusively within the care home sector.
I have worked as a registered nurse in both nursing and dementia care homes. Additionally, I have experience working as a deputy manager in a residential care home. Over the past seven years, I have worked in a multi-site care home as the clinical lead and deputy manager. I am passionate about the care we can offer to our elderly population.
